What the.... I know I read this exact comment probably weeks ago on another short talking about the same story. But some how you typed the same exact thing someone else did.
All those years of plotting! All those years of planning! All those years of waiting! All those years of watching in the shadows were finally at an end!
@@handleunavailable Exactly. Look back to when Triple H tore his quad during a match, I think it was versus Jericho, must be over 20 years ago now. Continued with the match and even told Chris to continue with the Walls of Jericho as planned. The pain must have been immense! I hate when people say wrestling is fake. Yeah it's scripted punches and kicks are essentially 'fake', but what they put their bodies through to entertain people is extraordinary.
Pure facts...for Undertaker to STILL finish the entire match after being severely burned like that is legit god level toughness, seriously. I'm speaking from personal experience...I nearly got burned to death myself years ago. I had to be flown by helicopter to a hospital IC Burn Unit...put me in the hospital for over 4 months. I suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on both my arms, my left hand, my neck right underneath my chin...and a huge 3rd degree burn that covers the entire front of my chest. Talk about EXTREME, TORTUROUS, INTENSE physical pain. 😖😢...Undertaker is tough as nails, no question. This also shows Undertaker's bone DEEP dedication to us fans.
Sometimes people who are "experts" in niche fields, in this case pyrotechnics, develop some weird superiority complex in order to stroke their fragile egos. The guy simply thought he knew better and probably thought of 'Taker as some meathead overpaid wrestler.
he was definitely fired after that, undertaker took it like a champ. wrestled the whole match wit burns & he would cool off using bottles of water, major respect.
I would forgive that as a honest mistake, but if the freaking Undertaker himself is concerned and you STILL don't fix it, that's 100% on you. The pyro guy is lucky he didn't get his head busted open.
Yeah if someone with his experience says this is not safe then frigging move it. Calloway doesn't seem like the kinda guy not say something unless there is a real and genuine reason
From what I ca guess the pyro guy was probably like "eh, he's a wrestler, I'm the expert on pyrotechnics, I know what I'm doing" cuz he probably had a giant ego over being an expert in his field.
I remember watching that as a kid. I knew that wasn't scripted. In the match Mark looked hella tanned but then you realise he literally just got burned walking through the pyro. The fact he worked through the full match is a testament to how tough he is. Literally an American Badass. Another reason why he's the only locker room leader.
I’ve heard this story so many times, but now there’s the extra wrinkle of Taker having BROUGHT UP that the pyro was wrong and his concerns were IGNORED? I almost wish he DID get his hands on that pyro tech!
Fun fact : CM Punk saved the day when he went out, had an improvised promo on the spot for long enough while The Undertaker received medical attention.
Elimination Chamber 2010 it was the main event for the World Heavyweight Championship Chris Jericho vs The Undertaker Vs John Morrison Vs CM Punk vs R-Truth Vs Rey Mysterio.

@@geeebuttersnap2433 Thank you...ive recovered from that, though all the physical scars are permanent...ive got other major issues im trying to get through, deep and complex mental and emotional wounds, related to different lifelong traumas...long, complicated story.
Yeah you always believe Taker, it’s like he was absolutely going to knock out Shawn Michaels if he didn’t drop the strap. He sat in gorilla position and legit taped up his hands ready for a fight
This is why this man will always be a legend. Sells even when he's in danger. These interviews also show how good of a character he can put on. When I was a kid I never though he would be as wholesome and humble as he is.
He addresses this more on Austin's podcast, where right before he makes the entrance, changes his sleeveless attire to a full coat attire. Could have been worse.
In this full episode too, he said that as it was the last entry with the title that was going to change to Jericho he wanted people to see the title belt so that’s why he changed the jacket
@@mrhenrique31That and he knew he was gonna be last out of the pod and didn't want his hair to dry up by then so he poured tons of water on himself before he even went out.
That's a classic case of a "professional" not wanting to be told how to do his job. The dude could've easily moved the pyro a few feet away... But no... He knew better.
Vince shouldn't of fired the Pyro guy on the spot. He shouldve let Undertaker do work on him first, then have him FIRED (literally), then fire him afterwards lmao
Taker was at the absolute peak of his physical prowess at this time. And he looked invincible whenever he was in the ring. There was a Dark Souls final boss aura to him that no wrestler has ever matched till now. No wonder we never got a Cena vs Taker match during their primes. Their clash would've been like the embodiment of unstoppable force vs the immovable object.
Cena should have beat Miz in the Elimination Chamber then faced Undertaker at WrestleMania 27, that would have been the Perfect way for Cena to Lose a One on One Match at WrestleMania.
Fuck the pyro guy. I have no sympathy for those who have their heads up their asses. Even if they're the supposed qualified professionals. Not listening leads to shit like this. Surprised they haven't sued the fuck out of him for negligence
I remember I went to the philly show when they brought back the brothers of destruction. I’ll never forget the people struggling to extinguish the flames, long after the match began. Things u don’t see on tv lol
I do SFX on the practical side of things and one of the first things we are taught is that we will be the first department to shut something down when it is a safety concern. If we see that someone is too close to any of our gear that can cause bodily harm, we will NOT fire it. We will happily argue in defense of the talent’s safety any day over a planned spot. The reason timecoding (syncing up with light and sound cues) pyro can become extremely dangerous as you always want to have manual control in case something like this happens. If we teched an entrance with Mark and there was a “draft,” 2 weeks later, the sequence should be run with the talent again to ensure everyone understands their exact blocking. If we see that he is still going to walk over the live pyro, we won’t fire and will even trigger the E-Stop to make sure that it WILL NOT fire. I’m not at all shocked knowing that the pyro responsible for this was fired on the spot and shamed around the industry (SFX in particular is a very niche specialty department/field in the entertainment industry)
Definitely a pissed off, burned Undertaker that specifically *told you* that something was too dangerous/sketchy and you blew it off. Having that mix of emotions and pissed off man coming after you, after you were told something looked wrong and you still persisted? Yeah I'd rather walk into the pryo ball than deal with mark as pissed as he was then
That’s an extremely dangerous part of the show , certainly one of the reasons people come the live experience but to the staff that has to encounter it very dangerous.
Taker’s been doing these entrances before I was even born. If he says they need to be moved cause they’re too close then I wouldn’t have thought twice about moving them for him.
