Couple things: You gotta be watching beastars with headphones on. You'll miss a lot of dope sound related stuff otherwise. Also, DO NOT WATCH THIS SHIT DUBBED. Thanks and have fun. -UPDATE The dub was pretty decent. I'd still 100% prefer the Japanese version, but it wouldn't hurt to show a normal person the Dub. ALSO, the fuzzy mic actually just picks up ambient noises (people walking in the background, chatter, ect), my audio friend was pissed that I messed that up.

I agree. I used to be 100% against anime until this stumbled into recommended on Netflix. First anime I ever watched and I watched it in English first. The dub is phenomenal and then watched it again a week later in native. I am not a furry but this may have been one of the best shows I have ever seen. It then inspired me to dip another toe in anime and I then watched one punch man. A little more simple but I am happy beastars opened a door into anime for me!

This series was like an acid trip for me but in the best way. I’ll admit that I started watching it as a joke because I only saw it as a “furry show”. I love character orientated plots, and lets be real, so do most people. It’s why Joker was so good among other similar, slightly psychotic character based stories. Yes, Beastars did have a plot, a very basic vague one regarding the gangs and what not. But when it boils down, this show isn’t about that. It’s about the characters. And every single character in this show was developed flawlessly. So many shows these days, especially anime, are so focused on the plot and intense world building that they all end up having the exact same, generic token characters. I love that none of the characters in Beastars fall into the boring ass overdone tropes. Haru isn’t just a small animal who hates being treated like she’s weak, she handles that struggle in a unique way (cough, being a whore cough). And honestly, as much as the whole “do I love her or do I want to eat her” made me uncomfortable, I loved that it made me uncomfortable. Cuz that means it’s doing it’s job. It was thought provoking and interesting. And god damn that intro slaps. I usually despise anime intros. They’re just so long and are literally always the same. But that song, that art style, impressive. Overall, despite me starting this series as a joke, thinking it was nothing more than some Nick and Judy shippers fanfic, I’m glad I gave it a shot. I’m not a massive anime fan, but this didn’t even really feel like an anime fan for me. It was just..art. Anywho that’s my hot take that no one asked for.

I watched Beastars with the lowest of expectations and the second the first episode started I was hooked. Binged it all in one night...

As amazing as Beastars is, one of the most significant factors of this show that make it great is the music. It is so underrated and perfectly reflects the emption of each scene to the viewer and I love it

Funny how I was making fun of this anime before, being it a furry anime then getting hooked up in the first episode and finishing it in 2 days

Thanks for including the info on the sound recording, the whole time watching it i loved how different and natural it sounded, while also using sound in interesting ways, like establishing a sound of fabric when a character moves, and using it even when you dont see the character, you know what just happened cause you heard it. The little grunts and movements are so good too. Im pretty sure Legoshi saying ''what'' in the hotel on the bed was some of the best voice acting ive heard in a long long time.

When I get to watch anime, I often feel I only get to see the same anime just with a different title. Its production is innovative for Japanese anime, especially the recording of the voice acting before the animation. I hope this studio gets rewarded for this and it sets a new standard for anime in general.

The main character love interest being a thot actually got me by surprise, thats how you know the show tries to be somewhat real, usually in romance anime you have this vision of the perfect couple that has to battle together against the world. Here the biggest conflict is not an external one but an internal, they are not only different physically but emotionally. Legoshi is just too damn pure and good, Haru has a lot of emotional scars, it actually hurts watching him being so stubborn pursuing something that screams wrong on so many levels.

i got one of my “aint with that furry shit” friends to watch this and even he said it was really good (he ended up binging it twice back-to-back)

Yessss I loved the move away from tropes! They had a lot of character talk in inner dialogues or in proverbs with little comedic relief which is so amazing to see

The things that get me the most hyped are remembering that beastars is getting a season 2 and a new scamboli video

Beastars was my second ever anime and i loved it to bits. As you said the voice acting, the animation, the facial expressions they're all perfect and i loved it.

I like the fact that this anime isn't like the others, in my experience of watching anime the one thing that bothers me the most is the fact that usually an anime's world seems plastic, not real, the universe spins around the main character and the rest of the world is just irrelevant, so basically all the people who are not related to the main thing are just the same robots that think the same, which is just not how life works. And the same happens with the body language of the characters, since all the animation usually is drawn manually that does not allow the bodies to be realistically animated, like making multiple movements at the same time. And I like beastars because it is just credible. The details and the world is well developed so you can easily believe that the main character is not unique, you believe that the world is huge and complex and the same happens with the characters individually, all the complexity in the movements and the facial expressions makes you immerse in this whole universe that you are slowly experiencing.

When Legosi protected the herbivores in the blackout I felt that. Literally grabbed the blue bird's (I can't remember his name) hand to calm him down. Legosi goated

The soundtract that you used before the end of video is my favorite one. Damn... Their soundtract is really good.

Louis just makes me absolutely love him, despite him being a dick a lot and suuper prideful. I think it's because of that one scene where he's behind stage, looking at his swollen ankle, gets up with a limp but walks out to his classmates as if absolutely nothing is wrong. Something about that scene was so tragically beautiful

Came across this video again after it ended up making me watch beastars a while ago and god damn scam this show changed my view on anime and tv shows in general. Absolutely a must watch and my favorite anime in a while

I have never been able to binge a whole anime in a day without losing interest, and ive been obsessed with beastars that right after i watched it i drew Legosi and changed everything in my instagram to legosi and beastars. Like no anime has hit that hard for me, and this is now one of my favorite animes of all time.

I’m so excited for anime watchers to see season 2. As someone who watched it back in October and is caught up with the manga, there was no conversation about it a couple months ago. I’m so happy it’s finally the recognition it deserves cause it’s so good. Y’all better watch out for season 2 cause this next arc will change EVERYTHING for the rest of Beastars.

I started watching it at 12 o’clock at night and kept watching it until it finished. Easy to say I was absolutely vibing to the op at 3 am. I loved this show so much I am watching it again and I never do that

I enjoyed beastars in English, but the music, animation, and everything about it kept me hooked. Opening violin for the first episode reminds me of the opening of Vampyr

I have absolutely fallen in love with Beastars. My SO and I smashed 10 episodes in a day, and we aren't the type to binge watch stuff. I guess that speaks for the absolute quality entertainment that the show provides (last show to captivate us this much was HxH). Visuals, music, VO performances and story are all top notch.
