So good! I love Spun!!! It's just over an hour from me, and my son works in A2, so when I go, I can have lunch with him, as well!! They are so friendly and welcoming. Even though there are yarn shops closer, I prefer to drive to Spun. Also, I went to UofM, so it's like visiting an old friend. Kerrytown market is the best for specialty gifts and treats.
Spun is my local yarn shop. I feel so lucky to have such a special place to find my knitting needs. Carol, Pete and all of the staff are so helpful. This was fun to watch!
Awesome yarn tour. Thankyou Natalie and Kent. Such a beautiful store . Love hearing how the business started and wish we had stores like this in Western Australia. Take care on your travels.
I loveeee Spun! I went there with my podcasting bestie and I was able to get 3 projects worth of yarn for just about $100 - including a sweater! So fun
What a great store! Natalie, you do a great job highlighting locally owned knit shops-thank you so much for the tour of Spun! We left Ann Arbor before this store opened, and I am itching now to visit Ann Arbor and this shop.
It's interesting to watch a tour of a shop I've been in. First time was last year during the mid MI Shop Hop. Cool store. Even though I'm a dyed in green Spartan...lol
Great video! One of my favorite store tours/interviews so far! 🙂 Because I watched your Lambspun, CO video, we are planning a trip there next month! Looks like we will be putting this shop on our itinerary too! Thank you for the inspiration! 🙂❤
Thank you so much for featuring my LYS - one of my happy places! Their teaching staff taught me to knit two years ago and continues to teach me. They don’t just teach; they empower you to succeed, and they are all so welcoming. Thanks for the great interview and tour with Carol and Pete!
Great to see another yarn store video, thanks Natalie. Hey I finished the stripped sleeve scarf I did in Argyles Luminous Brooklyn yarn, I came out really nice. They had a sale and I got two hanks of Hedgehog Fibers Aran weight yarn in colors Seahorse and Wisteria. I'm making a brioche scarf. Love all the bright colors in this store. As an Artist I love bright colors to knit with.
Spun is my LYS and I love it! Have taken classes and private lessons and all were great! One of the best things about Spun is that they are open every day of the week, very unusual for a yarn store. Everyone who works there is so knowledgeable and so kind. It is a great place to go for an afternoon of shopping and knitting! I saw KN on insta with the drop-in group and thought, "wait, that is Spun!" Sorry to have missed seeing you there; love the video!
Thanks for this episode! I already placed an order for the maize & blue yarn. I live in California, but my die hard Michigan brother in law ‘needs’ a new accessory! Ha!
This looks like such an amazing yarn shop. It’s so tidy and spacious with an amazing selection. I also love that there are cross stitch kits! My LYS has cross stitch kits and that’s how I got into it! I’ve been dabbling in it for a couple of years now and it’s nice switch up when I need a break from knitting!
Kerrytown market place is such a great place! I've been going there for 40 years and never get bored. In the summer, a farmers market is next door on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Across the street is the Zingermanns deli and cafe, property one of the top ten deli's in the country.
I live about an hour away from Spun. When we have the fall mid-Mitten (Michigan is shaped like a mitten) shop hop, they are in the list of shops to visit. My favorite thing in that shop that is really unique is that they carry shawl pins by Bonnie Bishoff. Bonnie works in polymer clay, and metal, and she’s very well respected in the polymer community. She was Keynote speaker at the world conference on polymer clay one year.
I love Spun. I was introduced to the shop when my daughter moved from Miami to Ann Arbor to do her internal medicine residency at University of Michigan Hospitals. It’s a fabulous shop with plenty of fiber options and everyone is so eager to help. Very inclusive atmosphere too. Just a great place to chill out, knit, and get to know people.
I had no idea that I had a store like this one so close by. I live in Chelsea which is not too far at all. I have been looking for a store like this one. Thank you for the tour.
Great Yarn Shop Tour! IN LOVE WITH THIS SHOP! Thank you for sharing! Really like that they offer so many products! Have already signed up to receive their News Letter! 💜
Catching up on all my yarny vlogs today. I enjoy all your videos. The tours are a great way to learn about new places. It’s so fun to check out their websites for all of us who want to support independent shops and dyers. Thanks for bringing so many places into our homes this past year.
What a great tour! Best one yet I think. I’m not sure what I love more, the sheep signs or how well the sections of yarn weight are marked. Makes me want to take a trip to Michigan
