I was using Knit Tink as a row counter on my phone and wondered if there was a product like this that could show me the instructions per line. Then the whole 'what you're seeking is seeking you' magic happened and a video came up in my feed that mentioned it. I'm on the fence about the subscription fee.
I used to think about having knit and crochet shop here in my hometown but never had the money! Always went to Omaha and Lincoln to get my yarn! I hope soon I can come and see your shop love it!
I know how to do crocheting and knitting I am better at crocheting! I can crochet about anything! I really want to see your shop it’s beautiful!! I do need your address!
I'm so glad you enjoyed fibre space! I worked there for a year many, many moons ago when it was on King Street and helped move the shop into the current building when I lived in Alx.
Natalie, I really enjoyed the Qiviut portion of the video. Your content is great and I enjoy learning about “new to me” info. I did have a question about the arctic fox pieces…you made reference to a piece having a nice halo. I was wondering what you meant by halo? 🧶
the little fuzzy texture that looks like it sits above the yarn is what she is talking about. At 11:27 you can see it contrasted really well with the Fox Fiber. Think of when you hold Mohair with another yarn and knit something. The mohair fuzzy part is the halo! :)
Your tee is too cute but it got me thinking that t-shirt pockets sit the exact same way when you are wearing them. It looks great on and on camera. Safe travels,
Love this so much! Great mix of crochet & knit patterns. The pressed flowers cardigan is gorgeous 😍!! As I learned crochet first, I'm trying to improve my knitting skills. Although I would love to crochet a full garment like the Cozy Days Daisy. While I'm deciding it's back to my wips...
Thanks for showing this cool yarn store Natalie. That Wooly Mammoth is beautiful yarn, love the colors. I just went on the NYC Yarn Crawl. Went to Argyle yarn shop in Brooklyn on Friday and got 3 hanks of Hedgehog Fibers from Ireland in color Sunshower. I also got Argyles Luminous Chunky weight yarn in colors Bonanza and Candlelight. Today I went to Knitty City, cause they had the Artist who hand dyes the yarn "Yarn Over New York". Bought three hanks of her DK weight yarn, and one of her fingering weight yarn with sparkles. It is the same color as the three skeins in DK. I also got another yarn in a lilac lavender color to make a hat, Urth yarns. For every hank they sell they plant a tree in Africa. Will have to double strand it. We were lucky today cause they kept their ball winder going. I had to wind up the yarn I got from Argyle with my Stanwood. They had a grand prize for the Crawl but, to be entered into the contest, you had to visit all nine stores. Knitty City had a raffle basket but, I only won an enameled pin.
What a fun visit. I feel like Qivuit is a rite of passage for knitters to purchase. I love seeing your Musselburgh. It’s going to be such a beautiful souvenir for you.
Great place in Alaska. As a former Alaska resident (2001) and quilter, this shop brought back memories of Alaska fabric. I had the chance to buy some Qiviut, early in my knitting, and passed. What a fabulous tour. Thanks
