@@cancersilver9546 it isn't a fixed percentage. It's range is anywhere between 30% & 110%, & the gap could be wider if the ruleset allows it.

@@cancersilver9546 actually, disregard what I said. Apparently the lowest it can start at is 30% & the highest it can start is at 110%. All that matters if you have a BIG lead/disadvantage.

He also isn't active on RU-vid or Twitter, so who knows what happened to him.

@@evanbuss7638 Shulk is considered generally better than Lucina. Of all the pros and top players that have made tier lists, including Dabuz, Marss, M2K, Tweek, ESAM, etc, the only person who says Lucina is better than Shulk is MKLeo, and MKLeo tends to overrate the characters he uses or are good with, something M2K noted while watching, and something you can tell based on his placement of his characters (for example, Ike, Byleth, and Marth are all high tiers, and while I agree with Ike, he's definitely not as high in high tier as Leo places him). In fact, Lucina's throne as best FE character is even being challenged with pros starting to place Roy higher than her.

@@Endershock1678 Dang your right. I haven't payed attention to tier lists in a while but back like 6 months ago Lucina was pretty comfortably above Shulk. Did he get buffs recently or did the meta just change?

@@evanbuss7638 He actually got nerfed... (not be enough to matter) The reason he rose and Lucina dropped is the fundamental nature of simple and complex characters. As people got better at the game, people simply started to get better at using Shulk's very complex tools, like Monado combos and instant swaps to avoid edge guarding and combos. Lucina on the other hand is inherently simple and easy to use, so she was optimized very early and her (admittably few) weaknesses were soon discovered. It's the same reason Ike fell from grace, he was optimized early and his inherently strong but simple plan just wasn't enough. It's also why Link rose up as people started optimizing him bomb usage. Of course there is a limit, a character can only be so complex until they are impossible to play well, but Shulk excels because he is simple to pick up but has a massive skill ceiling. Parrying also is important. Both are very safe when parried due to their high range, but while Lucina is faster, she also has more end lag and less range than Shulk, so Lucina is unpunishable for a decent chunk of the cast, while Shulk is straight up unpunishable (his massive nair has 6 frames of landing lag, Lucina has 7, and their forward air has equal amounts of landing lag, think about that). So a good Shulk is basically impossible to hit. I remember playing a Shulk, with Lucina, my characters can do parry F-Tilt, but against Shulk, parries basically don't even matter. That's not even factoring that his attacks all come out at fairly different speeds making it harder to get the parry timing down.
