The seachickens player initiated the push on the Niners player, which caused him to fall, and ended up tripping over him. That should've been a NO call! Damn No Fun League.
Man...the other teams better watch out for our punter in the future. Mitch is going to surprise us and everyone else that's for sure 👏👏👏 So Cool about his teammates :) Go 49ERS! 💪💪👏👏👏
Being from Melbourne Australia myself this play was awesome and this was a great video thank you so much for this it was great to hear him interviewed you dont see Aussies being Interviewed in the nfl and the reactions are hilarious . Love this thank you, go niners
Great play, I guess none of the players expected! The penalty on Bell was completely bogus. He fell down. It was not an intentional block below the waist. But a great play by the Aussie!
This is why I keep saying that Mitch is HIM. Best punter in the league. Bruh sensed the heat coming and saw an opening, and took it. He deserves more recognition. 💯
It surprised so many people that he was 10 yards down the field before the defense even knew he was running....I think the crowd cheering gave it away, otherwise he would have been in the endzone before anybody knew.
Maaan, I really wish this could have happened for him! Took some guts, he made the call to get that first down for his team but dammit all for not on a shitty called flag.
@@Just_A_Name14 What do you mean? He's never taken off on a run before. I grant you, he's been a great kicker. It's the fact that he was able to run like that (even though it got called back) that I'm referring to.
I got so hyped when I saw him take off! and he was hauling *ss too! so disappointing on that penalty call, between that and aiyuk fumbling, we could have blown the seahawks out the water!
I think a big point on this play has been overlooked......This was a play where a team committing a penalty was REWARDED for committing the penalty. Had the Seahawks not hit Wishnowsky out of bounds, the penalty against Bell would have been ten yards (15?) from the spot of the foul- still giving the Niners a first down. But the late hit resulted in offsetting penalties, nullifying the play, which is ridiculous. Seems to me the late hit was a dead ball foul (after the play was over, which is when Wishnowsky stepped out of bounds), and that the proper way to access the penalties would have been to penalize the Niners ten yards from the point of the foul, and then have the Seahawks penalized 15 years from that spot. I suppose the rules probably don't work that way, but the bottom line is that had the Seahawks not committed the late hit, the Niners would have kept possession with a first down. That's a big deal. And I can't help but wonder, could the Niners have declined the late hit penalty? (Whether or not the penalty should have been called on Bell is a topic for another time.)
I’m happy it was called back. And it’s only because if it wasn’t called back, It’d be a highlight play for every other team to plan for. Maybe just maybe other teams won’t pick up on it and they won’t game plan for it in the future now. So hopefully we don’t see it until it really matters, it’d be amazing to see that being pulled off in the playoffs.
Could Kyle have challenged it? Would it have been able to be reversed if they realized he slipped or does it not matter if someone slips it’s still a flag?
Australian punters whom came from A-grade AFL are undisclosed weapons , so much more to come if the coaches can expand their knowledge of the Aussies game.
To those who watched Mitch in College, this is no surprise as he had the green light under Coach Whittingham at Utah if he saw it take it. Go watch his college highlights.
That's what I call a awesome call for our kicker. It was the worst call from the refs. You can see bell slipped due to his footing. We should of challenge that call.
That would’ve been the play of the month of Bell hadn’t have slipped trying to block the defender. A great play taken away by a simple unavoidable error.
They do preach a lot about overcoming coaching. Don't just be a robot. If they get lazy in their assignments I go for it. Should definitely be something to bring up about maybe creating expectations and identifying specific scenarios to take advantage of. Could be good if they could get so good at it that it can be communicated non-verbally.
When does that ever happen?............well.........Michael Dickson, the Aussie punter for the Seahawks, did it against the Lions and the reaction was the same. Coach Carroll just shook his head and laughed. You guys need to loosen up the 'rules' round what punters can do. Punters are people too remember with hopes and dreams......gotta laugh.
Damn shame it was nullified by the official.. Bell tripped and fell in front of a Seahawk player, who promptly flopped. The ref threw a flag for "illegal block". Another stupid official wrecking a great play.
It was a cool play but cmon.. if he gets stopped there everyone is tslkinh about how stupid this would be. Imagine losing a playoff game because the punter gets tackled
Any punter from the Australian Football League has had the equivalent of years of running back experience, as well as years of experience of making a decision of run versus kick, since in the Australian Football League, there are numerous situations where either decision is appropriate. Imagine hypothetically if a punter of Mahome's was a running back who was unexpectedly taking over for the injured regular punter. Running backs are allowed more a little more guff by coaches in making an ad lib decision to run instead of kick on 4th down, especially when the guy trying to come in to block the punt appears to have got a better start at the punter than usual. A blocked punt can be run in by the defenders for a touchdown and 7 points, while a tackled punter will typically eventually cost an average of 4 points if a 1st down is not made. Mathematically, even when the 1st down is unattainable, breakeven point in the first three quarters of the game is a 4 out of 11 chance of the ball being blocked. Of course, if a 1st down can be made, the odds are a little different. If you make the 1st down, your team on average will score 2 points. If you don't make the 1st down, the other team on average will score 4 points. Breakeven point in the first three quarters of the game is 2 successes out of 3. It almost doesn't matter the team or the coach. A punter with good running back experience who sees that the kick is more dicey than average with avoiding a blocked kick, and at the same time who sees a 2 out of 3 chance or better of making the 1st down, should go for the 1st down if it's in the 1st three quarters of the game, because running for the 1st down is playing the odds in two different ways. There's also a normally only minor aspect that if the 1st down is made, the defense on one's own team has more time to rest, and the other team's defense has more time to get tired. In the 4th quarter, playing "the law of averages" sometimes isn't the thing to do, but still often works out. It doesn't matter if it's the Chiefs. It doesn't matter if it's Mahome. Teams and coaches usually mostly understand on their own about a good multi-skill player on the field playing the odds, especially of that player is playing the odds in more than one way. The teams and coaches look at the tapes after the game, and maybe again after the end of the season. A coach can say something like "I don't want to see that again", or "You're lucky that worked out", but still subtly be giving just a little bit of a "yellow light" to playing the odds on occasion.
