Personally I hated the way the show ended, it left so many questions and so it's like a cliffhanger that will never be answered.

The finale was just Infinity War from Thanos perspective change my mind. Star is Thanos, killing millions for a greater cause

Star took the easy route and sacrificed sentient beings for the mewmans and monsters. The show also glosses over it and treats it as s non issue. I dont like it.

I felt so sad when she destroyed the magic, I knew that some characters were probably dead from lack of magic.

The ending literally took the magic out of this show...

It was a bad decision for Star to decide to destroy magic Yes, it did cause a lot of damage, but that is not necessarily the fault of magic itself, but the people who have wielded it. Solaria was a genocidal maniac who created deadly spells with long term consequences. The additional Butterflies who could use magic all made decisions that they should not have been able to make. Moon decided that Eclipsa could not be trusted, based on personal experiences(which were seen through a biased lense), when the kingdom(the demographic whose voice and opinion in the matter is most important) had already accepted her. Eclipsa was queen, not Moon, yet somehow Moon continued to utilize authority she no longer to push her own ideas. In such reckless haste, she employed Mina, who she's known since she was a teen, so Moon would or should be aware that Mina is not stable. Moon used magic and her influence to manipulate the system and commit treason. Star is another case of using authority that she didn't have. Again, Eclipsa is queen, and Star is, virtually, a nobody. She is not a princess, she was barely even a queen. She is a teenager who came from a family of lies. Yet somehow she decides to come to the decision that she's going to destroy magic? Literally nothing gives her the right to make a decision that would affect the entire multiverse. Who would've had the right to make this decision? Eclipsa. Eclipsa, as rightful queen of Mewni, exists as the connection between Mewmans and magic. But at no point is she asked if she'd like to go through with this, and she's never even addressed as the queen, despite inheriting the throne and being elected by the people. Throughout the season, Eclipsa has been quite irresponsible, but she's shown moments in which she will truly step up for the kingdom. The final event that would mark significant development for Eclipsa would be the defeat of the Solarian warriors. But no, that's ripped away from her as two phony queens decide what's best. Eclipsa deserves better; she was persecuted, falsely imprisoned, lied to, dethroned, and almost killed. The one thing that would've made up for hundreds of years of lies would be to let Eclipsa grow into the queen she deserves to be, the queen her people need her to be. But even that is ripped from her by Star's impulsiveness and Moon's betrayl. The problem was never the magic, the problem was the people who were allowed to wield it.

my theory: Star is the true villain of SVTFOE. Star has been shown to evolve as a character, she went from a carefree and happy person to this mass murderer and unsympathetic person. While killing magic was a good idea written on paper because people would be free but resulted in a mass genocide. Like before, it would have been better to have just used Eclipsa's spell to destroy all of the soldiers and simply kill Mina to avoid a mass genocide of monsters. While magic was a bad thing, their was still innocent people who were affected by losing loved ones and dying in the process. I also want to add these things considering the two dimensions merging could lead to mass damage: -Shes killed omnitraxus who controlled time paradoxes which can result in catastrophic results since no one could control the paradoxes if it happens -Star could cause tons of damage and possible war between mewmans and humans because of how they just suddenly appeared and because of how people get in the real world their will be people who try to harm mewmans and oppress them -Theirs also the possibilities for the more untamed monsters causing mass damage in the cities of the world and cause countless property damage -The mewmans barely know anything about Democracy, literally it would take years to make everyone adapt with the worlds majority of democracy -monsters would also be probably shot down and killed by the government -Humans would also most likely shame monsters depending on the location -Their would also be a sudden boom in population, possibly leading to a lack of food and water and could lead to over population, poverty, and starvation -This also begs the question of the countless other dimensions in the multiverse cause like where did they go? Star could cause all of this because she just wanted to remove about 20 giant magical destroyers which could be killed by the use of a spell. I also want to say the people who were most likely affected more personally -Marco Marco is most likely traumatized from both being Impaled by a Unicorn, almost killed multiple times throughout the series, has fought in two major battles in mewny history, and overal has had the most affects done to him. Hes overall one of the more victims who will most likely be traumatized from all of this and is stuck with star which is constant reminder of the things thats happened to him -Tom Tom was literally cheated on multiple times from star, Corrupted in a magical dimensions and forgotten about, hes had to experience Star breaking his heart and it went to the point where she left him for dead in the magic dimension. -All of her magical spells She literally killed them all, All of them were shown to have families and lives. The lazer puppies were most likely killed as well because of the fact they were created of pure magic. Their basically the equivalent of her spells meaning they were most likely killed -Glossaryc he basically had been wipped from existence after helping star through everything, he was a key part in magical history and just the history of mewni and had been loved by all. Star ruined so many peoples lives and intentionally caused so much mayhem and destruction that star became a villain. She had a good intention but like Daenerys from GoT, theirs always going to be the mad queen who starts off good but becomes worse and insane.

Cleaved is literally the Genocide Route, change my mind.

When you realize the show is named Star vs The Forces of Evil, but the show heavily filled with morally gray situations and characters.

The cycle of hate is not broken. Like mina said the idea's that started the conflict are still alive. Magic was a tool used in the fight. The fighting parties simply lost a tool. It will be replaced and the fighting will go on. Star's genocide only stopped mina at the moment. The fight is not stopped. Also smashing the demensions together might have a lot of negative consequenses. (Yes all dimensions not just earth and mewni. We saw the dragon cycles and they are not from earth or mewni)

Personally I like to think the moment between star and Marco (the cheek mark moment) is actually the "re-creation" of magic which is why glossy was so calm about it all as well as the events that follow ie the world's fusing ( star and Marco sparking the magic enough to bring the world's together ) hopefully we get a movie confirming that magic is back albeit in small amounts

It really wasn't magic that was bad it was the bad use of magic, this entire pull the plug on it was very half assed. Stars is so one track minded it never occurred to her in getting rid of it, until going into the tavern and hearing complaints from others. The real force of evil in the series was prejudice and they clearly didn't defeat it at all.

If some spells stayed the same then the laser puppies just likely became normal dogs. I'm also assuming Raynaldo is likely still alive because he is with father time and since he can easily traverse time periods he'll just continue to exist as long as he doesn't permanently go to an era without magic. Maybe that's why Glosaric kept him there.

The whole "magic is the root of all evil, so we must destroy it" idea Star had was a bit of a jump on the gun. Is magic dangerous? Yes but so would a spear be in the hands of the wrong person. People will find a way to kill each other whether its poison, yada-yada berries etc. Im really bummed that magic, the best thing in the world, is dead. Even if we look at magical creatures as an extension of the summoner, they still had individual personalities and lives that they lived, Star basically ended their existence so she did kill a lot of people, seeing her gleefully laugh it off was not a light i liked seeing her in. Also didnt they need the magic sanctum to save Globgor, but they destroyed it before he went in. I wonder if it was a misstep on the creators and they just forgot about it, or they had not time. And now that magic is dead the clip of Glossaric saying "magic is in safe hands" when he saw Meteora's advanced magic is null. So many questions. Good show, ill miss it.

Im just sad most of all that H-poo is suddenly dead My heart broke hearing her talk so....sucidal almost. Totally fine with dropping everything and running away from her problems and having no problems with not existing anymore, saying its for the best.... damn....I guess living for so long and alone essentially would mess with your psyche but geez i never knew she had thoughts like this. Sure you did some wrong hpoo but you helped turn Marco into the badass he is today, you saved many dimensions from destruction as seen in Night Life, saved the fricken multverse by saving Star and the others. That's rad. Magic has done alot of good too. Was so sad hearing her talk like that and think Marco felt that sadness too. =(

Yeah no this was really a horrifying ending. I mean, I’m not dissatisfied or mad at Star or anything, she did what she thought was right, but it’s... really self righteous and...lame. I don’t dislike the ending it’s though, just not the call I would have made.

This season felt off entirely. And the conclusion was... just plain stupid.

5:01 Getting rid of magic means they took away a very powerful weapon away from the Mewmans yes but magic wasn't the reason why they were abusive/tyrannical rulers. They could have been like that without magic considering that they were humans originally and Humanity doesn't need magic to be prejudicial. I don't think magic was the problem but the people who got their hands on it. It's worse now that the Earth and Mewni merge together considering as Humanity is now thrown into a world with creatures from other dimensions and I think history is going to repeat itself.

I am dismayed because magic was a big reason as to why I liked the show. The mysticism and the ethics behind it were worth discussing. I liked the universe and lore and the story behind it. The queens were so mysterious ans each werr so differnt in their era. I didn't care about the shipping and the characters could only do so much with how they were written. But the magic is a strange case. Magic can be used selfishly and selflessly. It is a neutral force. Like water or fire. The only time magic is evil is through the person that abuses it. Soem queens used It for good and some for evil or pointlessly. Getting rid of it doesn't solve the long term problem because someone will simply abuse something else. Destroy magic was just a short term solution... I think star flat out murdered a bunch of magical beings. I also think it was a bad idea to destroy all magic. Magic is , as far as we know , a natural force. It is also neutral. Wanna know what isn't neutral? Those who use it. Removal of magic , a natural force of nature in that world supposedly, is kinda like playing god while critiquing others for playing god by using it. Removal of magic was also , in a sense , the easy way out. Ans there is no telling yhe damage caused by removing a natural force from nature might be. And magic rrmoval might not have done much because removing the weapons doesn't stop the hate and fighting. Just makes people think around it. Matter of fact , monsters and other creatures have their natural abilities and outclass humans and mermans in terms of natural powers , so how are they going to defend themselves? Mermans May be stronger than humans (debatable) but the playing feold may be scewed. You mean to tell me it was better for the magical high Commission to flat out die than to at least try to learn or make up for all the things they did? Or have us learn something more through them? They still had relationships with other people along with other magical beings. I think there was another way to solve this and honestly , i am pretty dissatisfied with what we got. Over three seasons and this is what we got. "Magic is super bad, lets get rid of it. Oh yeah , make surr we get are starco! Screw everyone else's character development , we gotta make them look bad so star can look better by comparison." Even if this was how the original creator planned the ending. It was like it became so focused on pairings and shipping that I am not sure what to actually gather from the ending. Like its actual meaning aside from the series long ship hint.... Now, keep in mind these are my feelings on the matter. Everyone is different. Some people even liked the ending and resolution but , even if it had a full hour I still feel like some of this was just...poor. And unless we get another season or movie , everything was still vague or poorly executed.

It Kind Of Felt like one of those endings were it "was All A Dream".

There's an unexplored third option besides (1) destroying magic, and (2) leaving magic as the monopoly of the queens and magic high commission. That is (3) democratise magic. Make magic usable by everyone. Therefore, it can't be used by a small group to oppress the majority, as it was for all of its history.

Star: With just a few words I can make every magical being simply cease to exist, I call that- mercy.

PORTALS. STAR WAS NOT THINKING WITH PORTALS. I have a happy ending where magic didn't have to disappear: Star asks Hekapoo to open up the portals so that she make a portal to some sort of void dimension or a remote, abandoned planet far, far away, send the Solarian warriors there, and give them no way to return to Mewni. Everyone's happy and alive, Moon and Eclipsa can have a diplomatic conference about the exchange of the crown, the magical high commission can learn that they just aren't going to win the monster-v.s.-Mewman debate (which stood on shaky, flimsy, and highly biased grounds at best), and the Solarian warriors can join in the fate of the rest of their kind. Magic still exists, there's no fused-world bullshit, the Butterflies and magical high commission can learn from their mistakes and make better policies about magic and its use/abuse, and monsters and Mewmans alike can rebuild again. Problem solved. No one else dies. On a separate note, when Glossarik said that Marco would return to the dimension he was from when the magic was destroyed, wouldn't that mean that ALL the Mewmans would to Earth because it's officially canon that Mewmans are humans and are, ergo, from Earth?

Oh Star didn't kill by herself, she had three other queens helping (Moon and Eclipsa probably helped out to spare Star large amounts of guilt in her later life). Star did screw over some other people too; Princess Quasar doesn't have magic anymore and Indexia was probably killed too.

I kinda just hope that Disney pulls that card that Star and Marco's love just rebooted magic.

I think Miss Skullknick might be okay with being a troll forever, if Star's spells still remain. I mean, in Interdimensional Field Trip; she learned that her being 50 was relatively young for trolls and that she'd be able to live to 400. With that in mind, she'd be okay with how she is now
