I actually made this exact chandelier from this video, let me just add I’m a 62 year old man and about as graceful as anew born calf, and never attempted anything like this before. Made it for my wedding and it was beautiful… everyone loved it… I was quite proud too… but what they DON’T tell you is it’s a total bitch to transport and those beautiful faux White Wisteria blooms hanging down aren’t cheap… all totaled up, this little project cost me $210.00 I wish they would have started with that…
TIPS for anyone trying this - - You can PRIME the hoops before applying paint - AND - some rattle can paints are made specifically for plastic and have an additive ( sort of like priming and painting - but in one step. ( This gets rid of the problem of chips / scratches / bare areas )
This is so great! This is probably the best DOLLAR TREE diy that I've seen on RU-vid. You did just enough for the right kind of project you made this look like a quality item, without trying to make it "look expensive"... which in most Dollar Tree vids include a bunch of cheap looking blind wrap and usually ends up looking like the Dollar Tree exploded all over someone's apartment. But THIS? This is great! I will definitely use this in the next wedding reception I do. These can be hanging center pieces. 👌🏾
I made 6 of these for a garden dinner we hosted last weekend. They’re so beautiful, a couple of guests asked where I purchased them because they wanted them for their own garden/ event.
Some advice, once the orb is assembled then the painting can be applied and it should apply better as most of the hoops are off of the ground. Great craft idea 💡👌 thanks 😊
I think she did it on the ground, flat as to minimize the paint and chemicals going up into the air. 🤷🏽♀️ Could be wrong, but she said in the beginning...
Cool idea. I bet you could also do this with clear plastic tubing (which would allow you to customise the inner rings a little smaller) and feed wire for structure and tiny led light strings inside the tubing ✨
@Hometalk I've got to say that I've watched so many inexpensive craft ideas, many coming out of the Dollar Store. Most will pass the good mark. However, @Hometalk, your project is at another level. I was thinking how lovely that would be for a garden wedding, with an outdoor evening reception. You also have a talent for arranging the florals. Great tutorial. 🌟
BEAUTIFUL WORK! I love it! The only thing I'd change is, I'd use the remote control fairy lights so you don't have to dig through plants to turn the switch on.
As a native of Savannah GA, I'd swear on my MeeMa's grave that this was filmed in one of the beautiful squares downtown! And if not, it's in Charleston SC, our sister city. Thanks for that unexpected little taste of the deep south. 😊
Wow! I think this is the first dollar tree/cheap-but-looks-expensive RU-vid video I've seen in a long time that I would actually use. Most of them have been ridiculous...like I'd rather pay $40 for the original rather than spend 5 hours making...but this is absolutely gorgeous and I would not mind putting in a few hours to make one or two. Thank you
Beautiful! The only think I could suggest is: instead of using 6 individual battery operated sets of lights just use one set of remote control lights. 😊
😀👍 *That would make a BEAUTIFUL outside wedding hanging centerpiece! You could then also take some wooden crossstitch hoops and make smaller ones for individual table centerpieces, and set them in the middle of round tables.* 🙏🤩 *Thanks for sharing!*
I love this idea, will use out out back in my patio area, but You would have to constantly change out these batteries! So my idea would be to use electric string lights with clear or white cord or use solar lights. I would also use a round solar light in the middle that you would poke into the ground with a plastic stake, that can be easily removed for this purpose. I don’t like battery operated lights for outdoors, the weather would ruin the battery pack. I’m going to use copper paint designed specifically for plastic and might prime first.
You don't normally change the batteries in solar lights- never had to replace mine in the years I've had them. Would certainly save you from having to buy a TON of batteries to operate for the same amount of time. I couldn't imagine going out constantly and replacing them. Only perk with regular lights is you can turn them on whenever you want (if you have batteries lol)
@@sarahgilbert8036 Ok Karen, I think you know what she actually meant… She was talking about the batteries and not waterproof casing that were used in the video. 🙄🙄🙄
That came out beautiful, especially the way you arranged the flowers 🤗. The lights make it looks so pretty at night. I would think turning it off or on would be hard to find the switch under the floral arrangement as well as when changing the batteries. Maybe a 100 count or 200 count set of electric (plug in) light set would work better if you have an outlet outside or use an outdoor extension cord. Can also plug the cord/outdoor extension cord to a timer so it comes on and goes off at the same time every day. Just a thought.
my first thought too...plus those type of lights she used are not water proof...they do make battery operated fairy lights that run on the watch style batteries that time and are waterproof..$5 each on amazon
I would make one suggestion that will make life much easier afterwards. Instead of using the battery operated lights, get the kind that plug into a USB port. Hot glue a multi USB port into the hoops and have the USB cord leading to an outlet. The reason I say this is because those batteries will need to be changed every couple of days if you use it for any length of time and it can get quite expensive, not to mention frustrating. It may cost a little more in the beginning but it will save you a lot of $$ and headaches in the future.
Wow! When you first started I couldn’t grab hold of the idea but that is amazing. If you wanted to have a small garden wedding in the evening those would be gorgeous hanging from trees. Kind of like that gorgeous idea of Martha Stewarts when she did those stunning outdoor lanterns! Bet you get plenty of compliments!! Very nice !
O my goodness What a beautiful amazing garden and & your home is also amazing I can't imagine how nice it is on the inside this project looks great & simple enough for me lol .... I'm going to try to make one on a smaller scale I know dollar tree has two different sizes can't bet the 1.25 price. Tks for sharing it beautiful 😍
Honestly had zero ideas what that was she was making & stayed to watch the rest of it to see what she was doing... WoW!! Thankyou!!! So Beautiful & So Creative !!
I just love how you took your time and show us how you made your flowers lights… I can’t thank you enough!! I truly appreciate you.. thank You so much ❤️❤️❤️ Would you mind teaching me how to do some more of your projects … this is absolutely, absolutely beautiful 😍
This would be great for Halloween using different colors and “dead” flowers painted black. On a smaller scale embroidery hoops would be great. You can adjust those so they’d fit exactly within each other. Think I’ll try that.
This was absolutely fascinating to watch you build - and simply gorgeous! You really have a talent for decor. And I love that you referred to your creation as a contraption! ; ]
I think I'd use glue to stick the battery boxes under the plate to protect them from water because it rains a lot here and they would get ruined quickly here. This came out really pretty. 😊
Mam, This is absolutely beautiful! I am leaving my mom's previous house and moving to my own home and orig I was hoping to qualify to own a nice little house with a yard but I was not able to. Hopefully some day and I would love to make this. I have so many great ideas from RU-vid that I will make for my new little Shadow Box as I call it. I will screen swipe this awesome idea and save it.
Do not wait for a big house with a backyard. Decorate everything now! Enjoy now! You can buy hula hoops and a very tiny size and make this work for you. I’m so proud of you for getting your own home; that’s a huge accomplishment so good job!
W0W what a beautiful display! Thank you for showing us how to make it...I would like to make 2 for my back yard this Spring because of a special party I'm throwing for my friend...well really I should tell you that's if I can make it look as beautiful as yours! But you did explain clearly the directions! Oh it's just so lovely thank you for your Video! = )

This would be beautiful for a wedding. I could see a few of these hanging from a big oak tree for a outside wedding or in a barn for a barn wedding. Of course it would be pretty anywhere....
That is so beautiful. I was wondering if it would be to heavy to put a planter on it, and if it would hold up?? If you hung in from the screw on top and then connect it to something g very sturdy outside using more of the plant hanger
Ma’am, you are a creative genius! I sincerely admire your ability to do projects like this. I want to so badly but my mind just races and I overthink it and then get overwhelmed and not do it.
Sanding the hoops does help the paint to stick better. Also, a good idea is to drill your holes before spraying. Beautiful project. Thank you for sharing.
Loved loved loved your tutorial! You have an awesome talent for flower arranging, the wisteria was genius! I appreciate easy step by steps. Your creation was absolutely stunning!!
Thank you for this tutorial! This looks to be the method used at a Christmas party I went to. Instead of hanging from the ceiling, the orbs were on tables near a wall, at different heights, and inside of it the arrangements included extra large gold and silver ball ornaments in the greenery!
This is absolutely gorgeous!! Just love love it. The lights & the choice of ur flowers. Gonna try to make one I’m having surgery tomorrow, so after I get & it gets warm I really would love to do it. Awesome
I’m going to make the hula hoops together & fix them to a tomato cage . Will be great for my vining flowers to grow on. THANK you for this idea!!!! 🌱💚🌹
Looks beautiful! I think it would look even better if you added a small bouquet at the top as well allowing the flowers to hang down about 6” using a smaller plate of course. Thanks for sharing your idea. It’s fabulous!
That's too pretty to keep outside on patio!... Great for weddings.... I made a orb similar to the hula hoops with two wire garden baskets from dollar tree. I only used lights on it.
So enchanting! Love it. It would also be beautiful for weddings. If the venue will allow you to hang things. Most do I think. Thx for sharing. God bless🕊💜🕊
