Great video! Any thoughts on how good the version of the Powerslide Zoom with the fixed frame is? For the price, they seem to be a great affordable option.

Can you use a converter on the 165 blade frame to fit on a ufs boot? What’s all would I need? What’s the exact name of the fr ice frame?

Beatifull video, what do you think about Wizard frames that comes out only for ufs boots? I’m practicing a little of Wizard style with 165 endless arc frame and I was wondering if, something as back closed gazzelle, is easier with a boot and frame that has the same height from the ground for heels and toes.. is the major height of the heel that deny more control on the inside and outside edge pression on 165 mount? Maybe is for this that Wizard comes out only for ufs mount boot?

Good question. It could be so that some steeper/flatter boots makes forward/backwards moves easier. This is not the reason for the UFS choice of the Wizard brand I believe. Otherwise they would not have putten the forward angle in the design of the frame.

Great video as usual, learnt alot. Strange thing has always happened with me and my frames, no matter what high-end skates I wear; the frame bolts unscrew by themselves a little bit, and the wheel axles also. I skate 30 hrs a week, and every few hours for safety I check everything is screwed on tight, worst thing is the axles; if I don't keep checking, a wheel will fly off sometimes!!! Doesn't matter whether it's my slalom FR SL skates or my Seba iGors, or my Seba CJ aggressive skates, or my Powerslide speed skates (did not have the trinity mount though, just the 165mm mount). I tighten the bolts pretty hard, but years ago I "threaded" the mounting hole in a Seba High Light frame by tightening the axels too hard, so now I tighten hard but do not force it beyond what a torque allen key tool indicates as correct. I've tried the Loctite red threadlocker, the highest strength, which holds for a bit and then unholds. Only things I can think of is; 1) I work my skates hard, 30 hrs a week, lots of jumps, lots of sideways lateral pressures on the frame with slides, slalom, spinning. 2) Strong legs causing alot of force on the frame? 3) I don't swap frames between skate sessions, but I do swap wheels alot, switching wheels according to whether I'm indoors at a rink or outdoors on rough asphalt or doing slides. All that unscrewing/tightening maybe causes wear and tear on the wheel axels and wear they screw into the frames, but that doesn't explain why the frame mounting bolts unscrew, like I've actually had frames unscrew to the point I have to take my boots off because the frame is suddenly wobbly. I've discussed it with other high level skaters over the years, and expert staff at different skate stores, and seems it's only me ha ha. One advice that seems to be working better with the frame mounting issue is on my FR SL skates, as there are 5 holes front and back of the boot, I'm using 2 bolts at front and two at the back, and now is holds for much longer before loosening, like maybe a week or so rather than a few hours. A major weakness it seems to me with the frame mounting systems is where they are only secured at two points, with screws holding a frame who's shape on the boot is just a narrow rectangle of contact. When I used to wear Bauer hockey skates, because the frames on those high-end hockey skates are always riveted, I could push with as much force as I could generate and never experience any looseness in the frame. I like the interchangeability of the non-hockey skate frames, so something like the trinity mount system would have that benefit, that the physics of it means it connects the frame to the boot more strongly than the narrow 165mm & UFS frame concept of non trinity mount systems. What I also wonder with the Trinity mount is maybe it can help to dampen further any twisting in the frame which well designed frames aim to remove (speed skaters apparently like a bit of flex for some reason, but for slalom we don't want any).

Strange, I've only had a ufs bolt fly out once on my Seba CJs but that was because I was new and didn't know how hard to crank it. It totally could be the amount of hours you're skating per week, but out of curiosity do you stomp as you are striding? Some people have a more stompy strides and others have the whole push and glide thing going on. I imagine the constant vibration from rough terrain could do it too. Try searching for Loctite Threadlocker, put a bit of that on the end of the bolt and put them back in, next morning they should be in there until you decide they arent. That stuff is my go to

@@Pawketz thanks bro, yes I've tried Loctite Threadlocker, the red one, and allowed over 24 hours for it to stick, but the axles still came unstuck, but it took longer than before. I've got a push and glide style when I'm just street skating, but most of my skating involves big jumps, hitting the ground hard often sliding sideways or hard hockey stops, etc, so I think that is what is causing the prob. Also, because over here in Australia we have lockdowns going on, I've been doing alot of my stuff in parks with rough asphalt, so the vibration from that might play a part too. I guess I just have to live with it ha ha. Thanks for taking the time man, appreciate it.
