Christmas is for children anyway. My family stopped celebrating Christmas when I was 16 years old. It encouraged me to get a part-time job and buy my own crap. Nowadays, as an adult with no kids, Christmas is just another day on the calendar for me.

This is super late but I just gotta say, what you said would make sense. But it just doesn’t considering that his dad basically tortured him for years. He went through multiple consecutive traumatic events. In real life he would be so traumatized and shut down that he wouldn’t want to grow up because of how fragile he is.
