Great video. I just got the Pypes catted H pipe and SLP Loudmouth 2. Phenomenal difference. Very deep, pops like the 70’s. Actually reached out to SLP and they recommended the H with the LM2. Keep up the great work!
Nice build....I like that you are putting the time and effort into a GT....there’s a lot that can be done with that car...I have a 03 Cobra that I’ve had for 18 yrs...pretty much have done everything to it..2.3 Whipple...4:10 gears..lowered..rear suspension has been upgraded with MM bushing kit...T-56 Magnum..Spec stage 3 clutch...Crower stage 3 cams..Borla Stingers..Bassani X..frame ties...Brakes..Nitto 555...Ford Racing FR500 wheels..(the real ones !)...it’s been a great car...35,000 mi..Red Fire..it’s got too much to mention here..keep up the good work...😀.
Thank you! Yeah the 2V’s are highly underrated and produce one of the nastiest exhaust tones with the right set up. I just ordered a new exhaust so stay tuned and let us know what you think when it’s on. Your build sounds complete and clean. I’m sure lots of time and money has went into it, that’s where I’m headed but I love it! 🇺🇸
I'm running a SLP Loudmouth and I think it sounds great. I also lowered my car with Ford Motorsport (Eichbach) lowering springs, Koni Orange shocks and struts, BMR tubular control arms (front and rear upper and lower, QA1 sway bars front and rear, QA1 caster and camber plates, BBK strut tower brace and finally the Stiffler FIT system subframe connectors with jacking rail and crossbars. Waiting on parts for the Cobra brake upgrade front and rear with Hawk drilled and slotted rotors front and rear (backordered). I also have a Stifflers lower chassis brace and rear shock tower brace waiting to be installed as well.
I have a catless factory h pipe, with Pypes Performance race pro mufflers, and I love it, I'm going to be getting some lowering springs soon, and I'm thinking about going with koni str.t shocks and springs next
3:73 r perfect for on 3 turbo set up...borla stingers r the way to go..I think they r around $650 on lmr...also I would go with the magic drift chin spoiler on the cobra bumper..the Mach 1 lip doesn’t look right on it..
Thanks for the reply. I’ve heard stingers are good! That’s definitely an option. Yep magic drift is on my list I’m just curious to see the Mach 1 lip on there since I already have it
The first and most important thing that tells me all I need to know about a car owner is what under the hood looks like. Your car appears very clean and looks great under the hood. The car overall looks bad ass. I tip my hat to you sir. Out of curiosity how much was the camshaft installed? I’ve heard that doing a cam can cost as much as a blower assuming someone else is working on it. Any input is greatly appreciated.
when i had my 1999 mustang GT, i ran a 70mm th body, mac long tube headers with 3 in collectors, 3 in mac power chamber no cats, ported upper intake plen, FRPP underdrive pulleys, 24 lb injectors, 4.10 gears, Ported 80mm mass air, K&N open element filter, Super Chips tune for 100 oct fuel.. 310 hp with a Auto and a 3000 stall and a transgo shiftkit.. Key is the Copper plugs 1 stage hotter... mic drop
Nice video!! I have a 1999 Mustang Gt convertible with a five-speed stick. It's got every performance bolt on available, Crower stage two cams, with full length headers into an off-road x pipe with two chamber flowmasters. 3.73 gears out back. The tune is for 93 octane, 295 rear wheel horsepower with 305 ft pounds of torque. These numbers don't sound like much but the car runs extremely low consistent 13s . It's so much more fun to drive and sounds great. 2V Mustangs can be a fun car for those who can't afford to spend $50,000 on a new car!!
Sounds like a great build similar to mine! Yes I agree they are very fun cars and sound incredible. I’m curious what mine will run when we take it to the track this year.
Love the 99/04 mustangs. I swapped a 03 cobra t56 into my 03 gt, lowered 2 inches with SR suspension parts, Flowmasters, slowly fixing her up. Vortec is in the future.
The new edges are a great platform can't deny that! Looking into a T-56 swap also. What did it end up costing you in the end? Sounds like a great build good luck with it
i have a vic jr intake i'll prob never use, also have the mhs 6061 custom plenum, although with that i think you need a cowl hood. if ya decide ya wanna buy one. just remember vic jr requires use of specific rails, so don't get standard rails thinking u may add vic jr later. otherwise you'll be where i am, i got the fore rails first, rather keep them than swapping intake. i had the same exhaust (flow) back in the day and was shopping for the same (borla/slp/etc), ended up getting sss exhaust. they seem to be a knockoff borla, but built as well. i've had it for prob close to 10 years and it's still perfectly fine. it is segmented more, so more of a pain to install, but once together sounds really good. DO NOT use with o/r mid, sounds like shite, like a fartcan civic on crack. for gears, i had 3.73 with my procharger, and it was good, 3.55 would've been good too. 4.10 no way. i swapped the transmission during engine build, with diff gearing and 3.73s the final drive was close to stock (w/3.27s), got 4.10 to bring final drive closer to 3.6s or so(with stock trans). decide what tranny you want before messing with gearing, if it's different, you'll need to consider that when choosing rear gear. i have t56 magnum, but the gearing is what's important. and if you planning to exceed 500hp or so, get the mcleod twin disc, i have the rst cuz rxt was excessive. it's lighter than stock, and linear, not those weird two step feelign clutches, unless u like those, then get a spec. i had the ram before that, it was really nice feeling too. closer to stock, little heavier than mcleod, but also linear, only swapped for hp capacity. don't forget al flywheel while you're there. weld in sfc's will change the feel more than any sway bar, people always say they're underrated, they really are. of all the suspension stuff i've done, i felt the most handling improvement with those. for driver feel, the thicker steering wheel was nice too, def recommended. like shifter, just improves driver experience.
I'm buying my Dad's 2000 Mustang 3.8L and driving it back from WV to CO, at the end of May. We both want the car to get an engine upgrade: 302 or 5.0? Anyways, I just found your video and like what you've done and where you're going with it! I can't wait to get started! Please shoot me any suggestions to consider? Thank you!!!
i have a pretty stock 1999 cobra 4v, stock manifolds, no cats, x-pipe with slp LM1 mufflers, that makes probably around the same amount of power. i live close to you guys down in Newark DE, it would make an interesting match up!
Glad to see videos again. Im stuck with what to do with mine...Im trying to get the Roush side exhaust skirts, and thought about going with the Cobra R front bumper but idfk lo. Have always loved this stang!^^^
Thank you we appreciate that! And that would look awesome I love the Roush Mustangs and that front bumper too. It's always a difficult choice on what route to go that's for sure!
When you bought the gears and the torsen 2 in did you by chance change the axle spline? I saw the video when you showed off the torsen and I thought this is interesting but I couldn't find one for the factory axle. They all wanted the 31 spline.
I’ve heard a couple people say they like this set up. We actually just installed my new exhaust and we’ll be posting the video soon. All I’ll say is it’s not flow master! I just took off my American Thunderback Catback yesterday
@@RatchetWrenches I looked into it the stock crank is good for 700 from what I read. But it’s still my daily driver so I’m not going for nothing crazy crazy and if I’m not mistaken it’s a 76mm.
You can yes. but we actually put them in with the engine in, we just dropped the k member. We have a video on how to install them if you’re interested!
Lm2 are mufflers Lm1 are resonators.i have longtubes with just Lm1s, planning on adding vibrant resonators as it sounds too trumpty if you ask me. I had the pypes m80 which sounded good but i wanted louder but now im too loud lol. Edit: sounds like a trumpet during normal street driving, but in the high rpms it sounds good.
I have bbk longtubes and off-road x pipe with the borlas and it honestly sounds like one of the best setups not bragging about my car, only thing I would change are some cams and kooks longtubes and x pipe
@@RatchetWrenches yeah, an borlas are known to get a bit louder as time goes on and the muffler packing disintegrates. Do a 40-60mph light pull in 4th and you should get some slight gurgles and pops
@@bap7929 I’m in AZ I have Flowmasters I would love to trade you I have them on a 04 GT that’s not running but my other 04 is straight pipe nd I been wanting SLP since I’m FBO, gears now car sounds awesome but want a tone to it tho
Not necessarily hard just time consuming. Stage 3 you’ll need valve relief since you’ll run into PTV issues but it’ll definitely make good power and sound good
be bothering you like this but I've gone through every channel possible all American Muscle LMR late model restoration I talked to almost everybody you can imagine and when you first speak to someone that get you all excited that they may be willing or may be able to help I've tried to Make A Wish Foundation what they say that my brothers too old my brother is 49 and it's been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder that makes his blood mutate and causes him a lot of health problems he's been a Mustang on almost to the whole life in his last wishes that he owns one more one last time so the church got together and got him a 2004 Mustang GT all they could do we go to a relatively small Church we wanted to do a coyote swap and give it just a little muscle nothing major maybe a 2012 coyote gen 3 with an automatic transmission in a air ride for adjustable suspension he's having a lot of trouble getting in and out of cars now and I'm afraid wrong timeline that's not going to be doable when we first started this project two years ago everyone Farris hope and he had so much out of but now I didn't disbelieve and we don't know who else to talk to or who else to turn to for help it's just one man's dream the only one of the best cars ever made a Mustang candy apple red what's a nice sound in motor stage 2 cams when do someone's come out with a supercharger that you'll actually tune I think it's Paxton and it has three different setups which mic should I do for someone we just want to enjoy that ride they won't see attract or strip he just wants to go to car shows because the owner of the Mustang one last time if there's any way you could help us or anyone you know that could help us we would greatly appreciate it we're out of options at this time we know Turn 5 is a big player in American Muscle and we really had hopes for them but was that they came back with was it was just not a project that they would be interested in what's killed his spirit and I think he's giving up but I'm not willing to if you can help us in any way please do you can contact me at 334-2221 2964 that's my cell phone or my email jody14u2c@yahoo.com....please help us
