You know, my wife and I picked up a rescue dog (a cavalier king charles spaniel) when we first heard this song. Read on, it's worth it. She had been in a cage for 10 years, in an illegal puppy farm. (I know, terrible, some people on this earth aren't really worth the air they breathe). She was ragged, her back legs didn't work properly, it was absolutely heartbreaking. She was so scared. We heard this song, on the way back from the charity, and couldn't believe the lyrics. It was like the universe had given us this song. Jennifer is on her way home, then she remembers her life is like a nightmare... Walking in circles and wasting her time... (she literally would walk in circles in fear, she didn't know what to do with herself, thinking she'd always be hit..) She was definitely tired like no-one's ever been tired.. and thought she had no way to get out.. But we wanted her to know, that the pain, in the end, was all in her memory. She tried it again - she tried it another way. She got into the back of that car. Now, after feeding her proper food, giving her all the love she could ever get, physio, hydrotherapy... she is a different doggy. Literally, no-one suspects her to be a rescue any more - she is happy, perhaps a smidge entitled (where's the chicken on top of my biscuits???).. and she smiles, and hardly winces at all any more. If I rush over to her, she doesn't run - she expects cuddles, smiles, wags.. it's just amazing. Her coat of fur isn't molting and ragged any more; it's healthy as they come, like we've had her since day 1. We changed her name to 'Gemmy'.. but what name did the charity give her before we picked up, and before we heard this beautiful song? ...Jenny. Sometimes, the universe does some pretty crazy things.
