You know when a band has been around for a few years and you heard them on the radio and kinda liked them but didn't pursue it, then there's a tipping point and you're like OMG THAT BAND and just want to listen to them all the time?
Four walls and a cauldron of Kalashnikoving, and our home is a trigger that I'm always pulling At the border, at the, at the border I'm at the border, at the, at the border The short spears and the weak eternal monologuing, and our war is the crucible of all your longing At the border, at the, at the border I'm at the border, at the, at the border I was there when the clamour got real I was there when your brow smashed the wall It's like a riot with only two perps, the more I'm here I'm making it worse But does it feel like you're already dead? (YES!) and do you feel like your brain stopped delivering? Yeah break my finger shoot out my black eyes, What does it matter if everyone dies? Hey Kemosabe I'm alone! Ayah! I am a! I am alone! Hey Kemosabe I'm alone! Ayah! I am a! I am alone! Hi-O Silver away So fast hence take an arrow from your quiver or we're, past-tense - what's a trilobite to anyone? I'm outta my depth, outta, outta my depth I'm outta my depth, outta, outta my depth My head reels and I'm crawling down the corridor, I can't see, but I'm heaving like a holocaust I'm reaching my phone, reaching, reaching my phone I'm reaching my phone, reaching, reaching my phone You wasn't there when I orphaned that boy, (NO!) Your body was, and the white of your rollin' eye I saw some terrible things on that night, I done a lot of bad things with my life I put my fingers in thee, And I breeze past security! Nobody checking on all of my deeds, I need a checker for all of my deeds... Hey Kemosabe I'm alone! Ayah! I am a! I am alone! Hey Kemosabe I'm alone! Ayah! I am a! I am alone! And we be trapped in the amber, last joy... And I'm looking at a holy ghost. But there's no silver bullet for a memory I, field dress every moment but you're telling me that Tonto say; I've lost my way! Hey Kemosabe I'm alone! Ayah! I am a! I am alone! Hey Kemosabe I'm alone! Ayah! I am a! I am alone! Hi-O silver away! Mmm, and I'm lost and I'm drained... 'nuff genuflecting in a penitent way! Hey Kemosabe I'm alone! Ayah! I am a! I am alone! So yippee-kayay! Hey Kemosabe I'm alone! Ayah! I am a! I am alone! Hi-O silver away!
Weak internal monologuing. Not eternal. Internal monologue is a psychological term for your "internal" voice, ie. your self-consciousness. When it's weak, you have little control over yourself.
I remember listening to this song close to when it first came out and someone's comment saying the chorus sounds like "I got wasabi in my eye".. 4 years later coming back after not listening to it in that time, I still cannot hear anything but "I got wasabi in my eye" now :')
I don't know what they put in the drinking water in Manchester, England to produce so many great bands, but I think they should try to bottle the stuff and sell it in music stores sround the world. ---- "Get your authentic Manchester Rock & Roll Water!" It'd be bigger than Evian. lol
Thanks for honesty, Jonathan. We've all seen some terrible things (on certain nights), as well as doing a lot of bad things with our lives... You are not alone! Looking forward to album 3!
saw them live tonight for the first time. not been a massive fan (in the sense I don't listen to them as much(not really sure why I bought a ticket tbh). However, glad I did. this song was amazing live. probably the best of the night alongside distant past (which I know and love from Fifa 16) and Photoshop Handsome (which I'd never heard of but now absolutely adore) tonight definitely converted me
They're nice enough to sound relaxing. Weird enough to not get overly mainstream radio play, and smart enough that you wouldn't be surprised if Bo Burnham was a fan.
+Dermacrosis Is it better than " Who's gonna sit on your face (fence / Suffragette Suffragette) when I'm gone?" mishearing lyrics, isn't it? You are very welcome xx
***** Yep. Don't ask me why but yt seems to be messed up on contractions when you edit. Well it could be worse atleast that is sit. ;D If you want misheard lyrics that stick in your head search for "O Fortuna" one sang by a choir. That will really stick and you will be amazed at a couple of points with how they manage to keep a straight face. :D I reall do wonder sometimes where the misheard lyrics come from but some of them are understandable. Mind you when they are good misheard lyrics they can be better than the originals.
I can find only one fault with these guys. The lead singer dyed his hair blond. Bad move he looks so much better with dark hair. That is how minor my gripe is. It won't stop me enjoying their music thankfully. Keep up the good work lads.
Damn I remember when I could do those moves. It was in the neolithic so there are no vids of it, though there may be some engravings with Dino on the side lines :-) Funny thing is what is considered an old persons problem meant I couldn't do them 5 years later, arthritis is a bugger. What would cause more surprise now is back then I was a seriously fat so and so, so much so I made preggers women look slim and had moobies that made my mum jealous, and yet I could still get both ankles behind my neck and look at my guiche (perineum). :-D~ To make this on topic, still loving the song as much as when I first heard it on the now, sadly, dead xFM.
Saw them this week for the second time this year...best, most refreshing, enlivening stuff i've come across for years, certainly in terms of depth - every song us really good!!!
That dancer is gorgeous, and quite badass. I give it to them, the woods/nature is one of the best places to dance. I danced on a trail walk a few days ago. Anyway, just got into everything everything, this song, introduced to me by my friend. I must say, he's got his own style with some peter gabriel and dmb splashed in there. Diggin' it!!
Frikkin' great band. Thank god for Jools Holland for having them on his show, otherwise I'd never have known about 'em. Completely original group. Like no other.
+Davysama not quite, it's language is inspired by the lone ranger. According to one of the band members it's about turbulent relationships and loneliness within them
So sad that abstract music is so less appreciated. Everyone wants music on love, sex, drugs. I'm so glad that i came over EE since their arrival and i can't stop listening to them.
well, i've listened to/watched this for at least 85 million times and the awesomeness of it has nay ceased yet, bring on 85 million more! EE by gum the lighting is unbelievable
wow, this is great. That band that did Yellow is pathetic. This band is the goods. I like this shit. And I'm a big Blur guy. I like the Brit music alot. When it's good it's great.
