These guys are too underrated. They deserve WAY more love.

One of the few things on the radio I've actually enjoyed. The bass playing in the chorus is fantastic. That semitone lift on the chorus' melody caught my ear by surprise.

I just can't believe how much I love this song. From it's release I loved it and I'm still playing it a dozen or so times a week. Great tune. Great lyrics. Great voice. And love the drums. And that eureka moment hits you like a cop car.

This song is all about money and the pursuit of it. It's about how ignoring your internal warning signals to accumulate wealth is corrupting. '...whispering into my eardrums... telling me that I want more' - pursuit of wealth 'you wake up just head and shoulders in a glass jar' - the car you drive and its reflection of wealth (the side view of a driver through the glass window of a car = head and shoulders in a glass jar) and how there's nothing more to you than the things you own, hence the word 'just'. '...there's something wrong but it's okay if we're still getting paid' - benching morals / concerns in favour of wealth 'you're ravenous you're champing at the bit, just a cog next to a cog next to a pit' - people are ravenous to secure wealth but fail to see the inevitable 'pit' that the constant thirst for wealth leads to. 'Cog next to a cog' is also structured in a machine like way - the organisation of 'cog next to a cog' reflects how cogs actually function in a machine, side by side by side. '... no more solace in arrears' - explicit reference to money; it's not good to be in debt, but being in debt demonstrates that you've spent money, and for the wealth-obsessed there is solace in this fact.
