I remember being in World History Class and my teacher who was a huge resident evil fan was so giddy with joy when the trailer came out.

My very first playthrough of this game (I started with Claire first, cause she's my girl) I somehow ended up entering a room just as Mr. X was leaving through a different door, which was the door I needed to go through...I cannot tell you just how terrified I was creeping slowly behind him in order to not get caught. Somehow I made it to the area I needed to be, but those few minutes of trailing behind Mr. X were heart pounding.

I dig the color grading as a method to censor the gore and goo. Looks super weird so it still maintains a degree of unnerving appearance.

This was the first game I platinumed and I loved every single minute of gameplay. Still play it every now and then.

I also played RE4 Remake first, going to this afterwards I kept having to stop myself wasting ammo since enemies are not just gonna drop more supplies when you kill them.

I love how this is one of the rare zombie games w double tap if i had the bullets for an enemy I just killed I would always give them i few extra on the ground to put them out for good make it so much easier in the end and lot less jump scares lmao but it’s a great feature

William's face is on every G mutation he's in. It's obvious in the first 2 where it is, its on his lower left hand side of his torso in G3, inconclusive in G4, but its there somewhere, and in G5, its on one of the massive blobs that come for you

If it wasn't for Spider-Men 2 coming out on Friday the RE4 remake would be my game of the year. It main game and Separate Ways dlc was so good.

It's a small thing, but I'm always amazed by Marvin's mo-cap and facial animations. He might still be the most realistic videogame character I've ever seen.

Loved this game played it so much i was able to navigate it perfectly while drunk with some friends one night lol! Love your vids man keep up the positivity we kinda need more of it for games tbh everyone feels super critical now.

What would have made the REmakes perfect, in my opinion, would have been to add a first-person option like the did after RE village DLC launched with the third person option in it

One of my favorite RE games. Possibly Top 3. My one and only issue with this game is… the separate scenarios don’t feel that different from one other. If you play it canonically, I’m pretty sure Claire is supposed to be ahead of Leon in terms of story beats, so I was expecting Claire A and Leon B to be very different than just a altered beginning section to the RPD and a few elements happening earlier. Other than that, fantastic game. Capcom really nailed the survival horror of RE2 with the stunning visuals and lighting and graphics and everything. I also really enjoy Leon’s redesign of his RPD outfit. Doesn’t take away from the original too much but also modernizes it to make it look like what a officer would wear today.

I love this game so much, if I could go back and replay it, I would. Now I'm about 50+ runs deep, one of which made every enemy Mr X... never again.

At 15:05, you mention that in the original, you had to burn the bodies to avoid Crimson Heads, but Crimson Heads only made an actual appearance in the Resident Evil 1 Remake.

I always thought the bioweapon growl when Ada was pinned was Birkin in another area

I started playing Resident Evil with 7 but this was the game that truly got me into the series. The amount of times I played both routes. I just love it so much!

RE 2 Remake. One of the remakes of all time. If you haven't played it and a fan of the original or even Resident Evil games. Hell...just GAMES in general. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You won't be disappointed...

Saying that RE2 remake and RE4 remake were good, in the same line as RE3 is insulting to the greats. Yes I said it, RE3make is a garbage game and the very best Remake Capcom ever made was RE1 Remake. And despite the biggest gripe I have with RE2 remake (the botched 2 pathways story) it's still the second best remake to date in the RE universe 16:34 swing and a miss chief. Look at that as 'rose tinted' as you want, G-Virus in universe only makes Birkin wanna... continue... the bloodline with Sherry. SRSLY, there's a file in the game (and in previous games) where hosts of G lose all sense of self and become interested only in 'breeding' lineage and killing all that gets in their way. Regenerating and replacing, mutating in response to trauma. EAch time you beat G-Birkin, his injuries force G to further mutate, keeping him alive

I really liked RE2 and RE3 but the amount of content cut vs the original game is just unacceptable. Scenarios in RE2 actually had slightly different stories but in remake both the stories are just character swaps. And RE3 is even worse. All the Nemesis encounters were scripted unlike in the original game. At least they understood their mistake and did RE4 remake really well.

It’s uh, funny how you talked about William Birkin defending his daughter if you know what he was actually trying to do to her (and did). I think this version of RE2 only implies it in a file, but… yeahhh, if you know, you know 😬

if you wanna play RE6, play it expecting a over the top action game, youll get 200% more enjoyment. also will you cover the revelations games?

Just got this on PS5 and I must say,after years of the series being more of an action/horror game..I haven't been anxious since I got the original for my bday in 1998! This game is intense 😂 I really missed playing survival horror!

1 was great, 2 was amazing, 3 was not it, and I never liked 4 or anything past it. Give me a Code Veronica remake!!

Played this game after RE4R - which was my first entry to the series. While I like RE4R more, being more action oriented, I think RE2 is a great puzzle action game. I would've liked more if the zombies were not such bullet sponges, but I suppose it's to be close to the original.

Honestly I wonder if they're going to do a double remake with the Resident evil 1 remake maybe calling a Resident evil 1 remake remastered instead considering we do have both a remake of one and a director's cut of won the only other way to differentiate it is to call it a remaster

Now this was an extremely pleasant surprise. I haven’t been able to start playing this game but I can from the playthrough s I’ve seen that this is a great game. Also if anyone tries adapting resident evil to film, I extremely recommend that they use these re remakes as blueprints.

I love this game. I never do hardcore runs however. Too much frustration.

The gore and damage effects on re2 remake is so much better than re3 and re4, rather than blowing chunks of head and flesh away it just adds a red colour effect over the character model.

i love the door unlock animations 12:08 for real the tyrant theme is the worst in the best way (hello anxiety) yeah Irons va is the best and well you asked but I have everything done on RE2 with mouse and keyboard i have all the speedruns all the tofu survivors all the ghost survivors (inluding no way out with under 60 bullets- that was a hard to do but i got it) and i do still like the game I just wish hardcore mode had a different layout with things like in RE7 madhouse you had to find more antique coins as to buy more things, some items were in different places and so were enemies that were also stronger (RE3R Nightmare had the same thing enemies in different places and some items not being where they used to be and inferno was all that i just mentioned along with less typewriters to save at)

Span of 6 hours? For me only happened in 1 hour 45 minutes! Damn you Ada, speedruns are hard enough but do you got to keep breaking my heart during them? 😭😭 Nah for real though this was the RE game that made me to try actual speedruns in the series. It's so fun just going through over and over again learning pathing. Learning which zombies to take out and which to ignore (KILL THE LIBRARY ZOMBIES!!!) and what items are always necessary (ignore the magnum and SMG they're not worth the backtrack handgun carries). Since then I've done Speedruns for RE3 remake and still practicing for RE4 current best 4 hours 12 minutes. Been trying so hard to get under 4 without any kind of infinite ammo or anything.

The main downside to this game is the utter lack of narrative consistency and how rushed the B scenarios were developed because nothing fits together. I wish they gave as much care for the story as they did with the gameplay.

Ight first RE3 was not that game it could and should have been much better, my only gripe was how the story was told in RE2 my only issue! Oh and what the hell you mean they cross paths, Leon and Claire meet in the beginning, at the station early and at the end that's it!

I love the resident evil series old and new cheesy campy yet still terrifying to play through with re2 being one my absolute favs with 4 being a real close second

I feel like the roar in the sewer when Ada gets hurt is the nemesis hunting Jill. It just sounds really similar and it takes place in the same time frame.

To think that Resident Evil as we know it now would not be the same without the success of Resident Evil VII and the RE Engine.

As a fan of RE series, I'll say this: RE2make as a game is one of the greatest horror games ever created. As a proper remake it's just... meh. There is a lot of cuts from the OG, like Zapping system. LeonA-ClaireB is a base for remake, but ClaireA-LeonB is just better as a story. (Some) different dialogues, new enemy placements, Leon can go to chief's office, weapon balance is on the spot (like Spark Shot is extremely OP against Birkin, but in ClaireA main boss is Mr.X, not Birkin), more realistic "death" for Ada, etc. I got dissapointed when i fully complete RE2make just for that reason.

The biggest downside to the remakes before 4 is capcom had to develop for what was technically last gen hardware because noone had consoles. They still look amazing, but 4make is especially special.

I know what I'm about to say doesn't have anything to do with the game and nobody will prolly read this. But, those Raycon Everyday Earbuds are awesome. I bought a pair like a yr ago and kinda wish I'd bought them sooner. I use them to listen to audio books and creepy pastas. They're comfortable, fit perfectly, and the sound quality is top notch and like they said, affordable. Funny thing is I actually bought them because of a RU-vidr, can't remember which 😅 but glad I did. Would definitely recommend them to everyone.

Win #3 - I would disagree with you saying the radio host sounds like Alex Jones. Jones would probably believe the guy's story and break out into conspiracy theories that may or may not include Umbrella. To me, the radio host sounded very skeptical - almost had a mean cocky attitude when dealing with the guy who called in... he definitely gives me more of a Howard Stern vibe than anything else. Heck, even the voice actor sounds like Howard Stern

Nah the RE3 remake was not that great they took out too much and it should have been a DLC to 2 for how short it was Also also the only reason why Birkin does protect Sherry is paternal instinct? Probably some but mostly the G virus recognizes that Birkin and Sherry share the same DNA and would want to use her for breeding material

5:34 I feel like this should only be half a win Because Leon’s classic outfit is best for beat 100% flawless and as it was in the original Claire’s tho, it looks terrible without her black turtleneck and gloves that she wore which is why I stick with her redesign outfit and classic Leon, it feels a bit more genuine that way and the tank top does look good with her redesign just not with the classic outfit and I don’t get why they didn’t make that change It’s literally one of the only things that triggers me, that and no proper A and B scenarios, and it being more like resi 1 where they fight the same bosses when they shouldn’t

Resident Evil 2 original and remake are still my main favorites in the series, and i still enjoy them like it is my first time but with a muscle memory of remembering how to play it.
