I'm so glad to hear that the show helped you through hard times. Rick definitely is the greatest protagonist ever. And the epitome of what every man should strive to be. Great video. Keep up the good work
You forgot to mention how iconic some of the weapons are. Hell. Most of the weapons. Rick Python, Rick's Red machete, Darryl's Crossbow, machon's Katana. And how could we forget Negan's Lucille.
I'm so happy someone shares the same love for the scenery and cinematography, it really was done to perfection, just the abandonment and the sense of a rush before the world completely stopped is just expertly crafted
The reason Sasha was there , because other actors who were gone such as Glenn/Steven a fan fav stated he was never returning to do cameos, Hershel/Scott Wilson is dead, and Carl/Chandler was probably still bent after being let go to do them any favors , but most important Rick was about to do the same thing Sasha did when her arc ended “sacrifice herself for the group”, and she was willing to take time out of her schedule as lead on a new show to do it
I feel you with the personal connection. I’ve been watching this show since I was 8 and it always gave me something to look forward too. I had some many friends and connections through this show and I loved especially in the early seasons just how tight the family unit was.
I started watching the walking dead the day the final part of season 11 was announced, I was able to finish the show the day the final episode came out I was enthralled from days gone by all the way to rest in peace (I would have preferred the final episode be called years gone by, just m opinion) the only time I got bored was from the midpoint of season 8 and the start of season 9 but I still went on and I enjoyed it this show was influential from its inception and I wish I was older so I could have been along to watch every season as it arrived but I love the walking dead I’ve never been so invested in any other show before and i can’t wait to see the future of it
We can all agree the walking dead was the best show or one of the best, through all its horrible, terrible, worst decisions I've seen in my life, it still lays a place in my heart and somehow I still watch the spinoffs, unpopular opinion (Maybe) I think TOWL series is going back to 2nd or 3rd most peak point in the series
As someone who has been watching this show scince I was 7 it is my life. This show is responsible for my love of fiction and horror and formed how I approach storytelling
you just earned yourself a sub buddy. this is genuinely one of the best twd videos i’ve seen in years on youtube. i know this sounds weird but this made me so happy watching. it’s just nice to see somebody who still appreciates this franchise and show. i can’t remember seeing a video that praises the walking dead, like all of it. idk if you know but alot of people quit the show at a certain point, for many years the only videos i would see was that it was “bad”. so to see a video of someone appreciating not just the beginning seasons but all the seasons makes me so incredibly happy. the last reason is super relatable too, i’ve had some rough times in my life and twd was always there to help me feel comfort. 2023 was a mess of a year, rewatching twd was literally the better part of my days last year. i’ve been watching the show since 2014 but i tend to rewatch the show every year. anyways loved the video man.
Few days ago I finished TWD. I dropped it in 2019 due to my poor ass not having money to pay for netflix XD. But I'm glad I got into it again. It's a show that I started when I was like 7 and stuck with me ever since.. Which is a weird thing to accompany you in your formative years, but oh well.
Great video man! I loved twd so much, i watched it last year and I fell in love with it. Even after finishing it I still watch twd content regularly and i'm so attached to the characters I watch their edits on tiktok especially carol', great show
This shit is my comfort show I’d be watching reruns of the first 3 seasons nightly about a year or 2 back don’t watch it as much but man the first 3 seasons are peak
I started watching I think around when Season 8 was out, and it's just been a fun ride. Even when my friend I watched it with, stopped watching I was still there, enjoying almost every moment of it. This show means so much to me, and I'm glad it exists.
Been watching for 10 years and still as interested in TWD as I was when I was young and for some reason it still hasn’t gotten old to me. Never rewatched a show so many times and memorized so much from 1 show. I could probably tell almost the whole story from the top of my head.
even though much of it is in the woods, the storytelling and characters are just awesome. It's why season 2 which was mostly the farm with barely any zombies, is still the best season due to the character dynamics, intrigues and situations.
Personal connection one is so real bro if u ever went through shit and put this show on. It would flip my day upside down it was always a little escape for me. God got me through everything tho
I'm so glad to hear TWD had a similar connection to you as it had to me. I love this show with all my heart and I always will even with everyone's criticisms of the seasons after season 6
I have read the comics since day one I actually have issue #1 all the way to #193. I never thought the T.V show would catch on. Zombies just weren't that popular at the time. But I am so thankful that it did, and that everyone else came to love the Zombie genre just as much as I have.
TWD's down fall was the painful amount of filler episodes it had. Instead of the important episodes being episodes; 1, 8,9 & 16 of each season, it would have been much more action packed and essentially could have been a shorter series. Another downfall was the atrocious showrunner, Scott M Gimple. He single handily ruined the franchise with this "MCU" type of thing he wants to do
Great video, great points! And ya, Sasha? I was like WTF?!?! Should have been Carl 100%. Laurie would have been a better choice too. I like Sasha and all. But it made no sense to me at all. I think that was the longest conversation those characters ever had.
Theres one thing that i completely dissagree with and thats that Abes death got overshadowed by Glenns death. Both Sasha and Rosita whent on a suicide mission to try to avenge the man that they both loved aka Abe.
@00 Sasha's brave sacrifice influenced Rick. She was an integral part of his "family." I'm unsure if it's willful ignorance or unconscious bias as to why Sasha's sacrifice is disregarded, minimized, maligned, downplayed, and ignored by fans of the show. ETA: Carl's return would have influenced Rick to choose death over life due to how much Rick missed him, and Glen, actor Steve Yeun declined to return.
@Willy700 I think it was related to a few things, budget like you said, scheduling for Steve Yeun, and they should be embarrassed to even ask Chandler back after hum being fired right after buying a house in Georgia.
I just wished they would have kept the running zombies they had in the beginning that still new how to operate a door knob. I liked that as the zombies aged and rotted they started to slow down and fall apart, but they should have had the freshly turned zombies still be strong and fast and more of a threat. It just wasn’t that believable when a few slow zombies would get the better of someone, they were too easy to kill at that point.
I’m still not over Sasha being in ricks visions lol it made zero sense, I see people in the comments defending this but why not lori or Carl (the actual reason it isn’t them is cos walking dead ruined loris life for a while and carls actor was done so dirty there was no way he would come back)
8:30 i was going through a tough time in 2023 too. But instead of the main show, i was watching fear the walking dead which definitely made everything worse
I absolutely hate fortnite and never play it but i still bought that Rick skin..its the only skin in the game I ever bought because on the off chance I ever do install it because sometimes my friends will convince me to play it for a bit, at least I got that skin to enjoy while im at it
Lmao. Everytime I show someone the show for the first time and we get to ricks last episode I'm always almost tempted to ship the Sasha scene when they aren't looking because it's that cringy to me. Like could they really not get ANY other actor to fill that spot? Not only was Sasha not important to ricks story but she was just annoying in general and her dialogue was always this awkward word soup and it's no different in that scene. Everything else about the episode deserves a chef's kiss but that scene.... Just No....
I stopped watching around season 8 my interest lately is getting peaked. Probably gonna start around dead city since i know how the original ends already.
I know, most of us have seen it, but you should put spoiler warnings. You showed major spoilers near the start of the video that could ruin it for people
Ill say this now, walking dead is most definitely not the best show ever. That is coming from someone who is rewatching it for the 5th time right now. I love it, but you're being unjustly biased in claiming it to be the best ever.
