Hmmm... You can get better ratio unagi:rice meal somewhere else. Unagi covers the rice completely with some side dishes and probably soup. This one is overkill with rice

Ate at that restaurant recently. Rice is pretty tasteless actually. U can see their reviews. Egg taste like egg and the image is pretty mid as well. Nothing really special to be honest.
Is that last place ran by a tapeworm? Because that shit looked like raw pork and that is a medical red flag. If you serve undercooked pork anywhere else you’re getting fired and going to prison for attempted murder.
@Patricia, please put together a book or travel guide listing the Tokyo and Osaka locations and addresses of all these wonderful restaurants that you are trying. Preferably with your price ($/$$/$$$/$$$$) and quality (❤️/❤️❤️/❤️❤️❤️/❤️❤️❤️❤️) ratings, and if they are foreigner-friendly (or not). That would be awesome.
That is a custom size. Bowls like this were created for food challenges they are popular. I know of this place I lived in Osaka once upon a time. Most potions are half the size of this even less in some cases.

You forget to mention that breakfast in Japan is a lie lol. Nothing opens until at least 10am unless you go to a coffee chain or American fast food. Don’t come here expecting 8am breakfasts. Those fluffy pancakes you hear so much about aren’t till 10 or usually 11.
