I don't think I have enjoyed a recap as much as this one. I was constantly asking myself, how does she knit so fast? You have a talent for pairing beautiful yarn and patterns that compliment you perfectly. Can't wait to see all of 2024 projects develop. Best wishes-Margaret of My Wonderful Knitting Life podcast.

Wow! You are my hero! I have no idea how you manage to knit so many items, but I think your color/pattern/yarns combinations are spot on. You have made all my favorite patterns in one year! And you look so beautiful in them all. You have ALMOST inspired me to quit eating chocolate so I can wear a knit dress.

I love your recap of all your projects. Like you, I love to knit whenever possible. My husband does the driving so I always have a small project, hat, socks or scarves to work on. I cannot just sit and watch TV so sweaters are done during that time. I always have something to knit with me for appointments. I never mind if the doctor is running late. 😊 Looking forward to 2024 with you. ❤

Your videos are my favorite! Excited to see what 2024 brings for knit projects for you! I have so many thoughts to share. For the socks, with the yarn you don't have enough. The colors look gorgeous together. Could you do like a faded sock? Start with the pink or charcoal and then fade into the speckle and finish the sock with the other tonal? I think that would be fun and different than what you have previously made. The tank top that was green that you were short on yarn for... is absolutely gorgeous on you. For the mock neck tank... do you have a funky necklace or something chunky that could go on top as an accessory? And if you use it in spring/fall and add maybe a beige cardigan you could really pull an outfit together. The vest... tweed yarn I think is cute but since you have a tweed vest, I vote for the second option. More yarn unfortunately, but I think you would feel like you aren't repeating a project. Cheers Tash! Happy new year
@mostlyknitting
@mostlyknitting 8 месяцев назад
Thank you so much for all your input and encouragement. You have so many good ideas. I love the idea of playing with the yarn for the socks but then they probably cant be my walking project. Still - i could do a hat or something else on my walks. I like your ideas with the mini mock neck tank to play around with the styling. That can definitely make a difference with wearability. Thanks again for taking the time to leave such thoughtful comments. Happy New Year! xx

Love watching your videos in the depth of winter here in the UK, a little Sydney sunshine would be very welcome. Just a thought about the lovely hats which seem to fly off your needles. In the summer 2022 one off my daughters developed breast cancer and had several months of extremely crueling chemotherapy and although we had a very hot summer she wore a knitted hat all off the time. This was partly due to the cruel way people stared at her when she went out, no hair, eyelashes or eyebrows but also she became so thin and felt cold all of the time. so just a thought that if you have an excess of hats your local hospital's chemo department will surely be able to find a greatful recipient.

I Can’t believe how much you’ve knit. You’ve inspired me very much in 2023 and I’ve knit the musselburgh (I am also addicted to knitting it but I live in Canada so I wear toques constantly) , the ranunculus (made two) and I want to try the sorrel, the ankler, and the birds of a feather shawl for 2024. Congratulations on all of your projects!! They are so varied and all beautiful. Do you have a regular length sock pattern that you like? I just finished a pair of socks (knitting one a time) from one skein/spool of yarn and found the color pattern not so much to my liking. My guess is the solution is to start each sock with a new skein, rather than continuing a skein.
@mostlyknitting
@mostlyknitting 7 месяцев назад
Thanks so much Jan. I have gone through phases with my socks. I started off liking knee-highs, then mid-calf and now i am making no-show socks. They seem to be getting smaller and smaller. ;) With the patterning, it really depends on the yarn and the way it has been dyed up. :)

I apologize if I've already posted this...I recently discovered combination knitting (in connection with knitting continental) where the purl stitch yarn is wrapped clockwise. From what I've read, this method uses less yarn, but also gives a tighter stitch. Do you use this method in your knitting?@@mostlyknitting
