Put that thanksgiving in a prop box with only perlite in it. Stand it up a bit in the prop box. Water the perlite and then close up and leave them. I have grown a lot of of them like that. THAT should SAVE your variegated thanksgiving cactus. I have a lot of Thanksgiving plants, I have propped that way. Good Luck, That plant is on my wish list. They look so beautiful.

Hi Emma, I’ve had success propagating my variegated Christmas cactus in cactus soil, on a heat mat ( last winter) under growlights. I would let the soil to dry before watering generously again. I had it in a clear plastic container so was able to keep an eye on the soil and then the roots when they started growing. It was in room ambient, no additional humidity. Xx

Rex Begonia totally can manage 50-60% humidity but will croak if the temperature is over about 27/28°C! So finding a cooler bright spot with decent humidity will make them happy 😊

My repens does it too! I had some top cuts that kept the color and some mids that start like that and then turn into the normal leaf 😁

My Moonshine, has some different coloured leaves on it, too. Now it growing more and they are coming in the proper colour. I have no idea why it did that, it was always the proper colour until I put it in my south facing window. Then it changed colour. Now changing back. Weird plant. lol

The green rippled plant in the first box looks like a Philodendron Ernestii. The Pinnatum does need support as it gets bigger, I've just put mine on a D shaped moss pole and it's definitely loving it. I was so excited to find out on Sunday another plant swap is coming Hull, I hadn't been following where you was headed as I didn't expect you to be close to me. I bought my ticket tonight!😊🌿

This was so much fun! I’m in the midst of propagating alocasia from corms, and it’s bringing me so much joy. I’ve never had success with Hoyas, but I put a cutting of one in water, and it’s rooting beautifully! Maybe I should consider potting it up in semi-hydro.

Do hoya grow well in pon? I have a variety of cuttings from a local facebook group and they are rooted. Im so nervous about potting them up in pon but i want to use pon if im not going to kill them

I have to open one last prop box, not much in it. But I'm not propagating anymore, I have way too many plants, Right now. I don't sell on-line or anything like that. I have about 80 plants. I'm seriously out of room. LOL

My Alocasia corms prefer to mold rather than grow no matter what substrate/pudde I use. I've got them in shallow puddle containers, perlite, Pon, tree fern fiber etc.., in larger prop/humidity boxes and ambient conditions. I'm in Tucson so ambient conditions in that room (sans humidifier) tops out at 40%. All my other plants do great in the same environments... Thoughts? I appreciate any suggestions 💚

I would love someone who actually understands all the science behind it, to explain how a Sansiveria (snake plant) is somehow considered the same type of plant as my dracaena marginata (Dr. Seuss tree).... the leaf shape is not the same even remotely, one grows like an actual tree and one does not... makes zero sense to me how they are now suddenly classified under the same "dracaena" name.

It's the structure of the flower not how it grows
@melanieg.9092

Plants are more often classified by their flower. And recently a lot of plants are classified by DNA analysis it seems so visual features may take a backseat with this.
