YaWeH...the sound of the rushing wind....Gods holy spirit....awesome...walk in the forest among the church of trees and you will hear it. I hear from the Father when I am out in nature
What a wonderful mind Fr. Richard has. We are so fortunate to be able to listen to his wonderful mind and his enlightened teachings.bless you dear Richard!
“It’s heaven all the way to heaven and it’s hell all the way to hell.” Catherine of Siena. Thank you Richard Rohr for illuminating us and sharing insights which help us connect with YHWH. 🌞🙏🌕
The insights are profound and I am appreciating most of this talk very much, especially pointing out the very real difference between logically understanding gratitude and really knowing and feeling it as an experience in your body. At about 11:30 it is proposed that younger people today often have an attitude of "I deserve", which is apparently seen less often in older generations because they had to suffer more. In a way, this might have some truth to it, but I think it is much more of a surface difference, and I would offer some critique and pushback, because the statements feel jarring to me and do not align with my own understanding of the truth. It sort of sounds like what one might say in order to appeal to a group of older people. I would argue that younger generations may not "suffer" the same level of physical hardships and deprivations that most older folks have, but, the quickened pace of society, stress, and isolation of more recent times have been an exceptional burden on the younger of us that has gone unnoticed or has been dismissed by older generations, the only people who may have the resources and maturity to help us through. We often get shamed for not "achieving more" or "being happier" with what has been "handed" to us, as if what was "handed" to us should be all we need. Maybe I am making this into something bigger than it was intended to be, but its something that is important to me so I thought i would share my thoughts in case it might be interesting to someone else. In any case, it has been through finding teachers like Merton and Rohr that has ultimately helped me as an individual to see things, and even be able to risk experiencing things, differently, and I am endlessly grateful for that!! :) Thank you very very much.
We were taught by the apostles 'Test the spirits ..' We hear a lot and have to sift through what is true and what is not. That's a good thing, everyone keep being a good Berean.
What I cannot understand, is that the are people who judge you, dear Friar Richard, who call you New age, and worse - a 'false prophet'....!! Christian ministers judging you.... How profoundly you have blessed my mind and spirit it impossible to express.
Spoke to me in a place that i already knew but needed reminding. In everything, even pain and hardship, there is a gift. Especially in this time of Covid, what is the gift?
