Very poised articulate athlete. Summer projects confidence and a healthy attitude about her goals. It is refreshing to hear elite athletes share their rise in the competitive ranks and the admiration and respect that they still hold for their role models.

She has phenomenal inner beauty even more so. An authentic, deeply humored laugh is always a beauty in an obviously pretty girl. But it's much more: total uniqueness...is her superpower. None like her... anywhere... anytime... not on any of my radars! Drop some hammers, girl! And by Paris, at the latest, we'll be calling you 'woman'.
I'm in complete and adamant agreement! Swimming does NOT need semis, not even a little. If semis were out, we'd be able to see McKeown-Douglass-Mcintosh in the 200 IM next week. It's like being cheated, and it's the fault of a stupid third swim for every individual event.
Let's take this further... show how WRONG semis can be: when Summer dropped the IM, do you think that McKeown and Douglass rejoiced?! NO! Those women are warriors. In the backs of their minds, instantly, they realized that not having Summer in the race makes it far less a championship. You WANT to check yourself against the best when you are warriorlike. Without semis, Summer would be doing 10 individual swims next week, without dropping the IM; with semis, AFTER dropping it, she swims 12 individual times! This thing is screaming for reform.
@@michaelmccormack494 Absolutely. Always gonna have the, "Well, you won, but Summer wasn't in it," on their backs. Also, semis just allows the morning swims to be not nearly as important. Whole semis thing was and remains a very bad idea.
@@michaelmccormack494 I agree about reform. Another thing I looked at the olympic schedule. And it's even more of a logjam of events for Summer compared to WC. If she raced all 5 of her individual events, she would have to do all 5 individual finals in just 5 DAYS. The men's events are spread out more reasonably. When Phelps did his 5 individuals golds in 2008, that was over 7 days of finals. Summer's race program applied for men is also over 7 days (they both do butterfly, freestyle, IM but in different distances). There is no butterfly, mid distance freestyle or IM in the final 3 DAYS of women's olympic swimming, which seems like terrible scheduling to me. I'm not saying Summer would win all 5 events, but it sucks that she likely won't even be given a chance to because the men's and women's events are spread out differently.
Sorry to the Canadian fans, but honestly she is just average looking and so far has disappointed BUT I AM SURE she has enough potentail to shine, however the hyperbole belies the fact there are better out there.
Better at what. Has now beaten Katie Ledecki (sp ?) in 800 free. Has beaten KL in 400 free multiple times. Held 400 free WR for 4 months in 2023. Still WR and absolutely dominates in 400IM. WC gold and dominates in 200 butterfly. WJR in all her events. Hyperbole ? She's a generational athlete and, by all accounts, continues to improve. 2024 Olympics could be legendary.
This Dumbness didn't age well... 16 yrs / 17 years old, 3 WRs under her belt, 4 time World Champion and literally the brightest young female swimmer since Ledecky. Keep spewing ur B.S.....
