@@Artyom_P look at the leaked data for the original STALKER games, there's a lot of cut content. If something isn't being shown to the public, it's likely there for a reason whether for plot/surprise reasons or because it's been cut.
It's one thing to not discuss it to avoid legal action, it's another to avoid wanting to discuss it out of the moral highground, it's a bit infuriating. GSC has failed to show anything of real substance over the course of years, people questioning how scripted the gameplay shown is when it WAS coming, and overall being incredibly vague over the simplest of questions be it lore or gameplay related, hell there even was a guy i know who tried to sneak record footage of the gameplay during a event where you could play the first mission when such a thing wasnt allowed by GSC, fans were starving for real info for a long while, and without discussing the content of what was in those leaks, as someone who has seen stuff in depth... The game was nowhere near ready like how they were presenting it as, complete lack of transparency and just trying to keep a hype train running and to fuel pre-orders, combine that with the NFT debacle and I don't think GSC really deserves the moral argument period, no matter how good or not the game is shaping up to be.

I am both very excited and very cautious for this games release. Many new games have turned out to be let downs and I don't want this to happen to one of my favorite franchises.
All you need to do is look at the marketing and you'll know. " Pre order and you get exclusive guitar tracks and stories to hear around the campfire " , they also are going to be marketing skins for outfits and weapons, while also claiming they will encourage the modding community. What happens when a modder makes weapon or outfit textures that are the same as the microtransaction ones from GSC being offered in the store?. I'd be willing to bet GSC won't allow all modding, only what they approve on Moddb.
I'm really excited for the A-Life 2.0. That's what really makes this game amazing. You're A PART of the world, not the only character in it, and it really makes for an immersive experience. Walking around and hearing gunshots between two different factions, or seeing a pseudodog fight a bloodsucker shows it's not just about you the player. There's other characters and creatures with their own motives and actions (at least, as simulated as much as possible).
I tried playing far cry 5 recently... I just couldn't do it - whipped out a check point, left but forgot something and returned in 12-15seconds and eveyrbody I killed was respawned like nothing ever happened! how can you enjoy shit like that
Stop expecting too much. Unreal Engine itself is very limited. The AI will mop the floor like the game itself. New player audience will like it, the old Stalker fans will bash it.

I'm so excited they're genuinely trying a-life again; it was always so much fun to sit down to a new night of playing STALKER knowing it's living, it's changed; it's not exactly as I left it.
You've done a spectacular job researching and compiling all the details! Got me pretty hyped, even though I was really excited already. My only fear is that the devs might be overambitious, overpromise, and will be forced to cut some amount of content and/or features. Also, I hope the game won't be a buggy mess on release. Still, seeing how far the original trilogy has come thanks to the amazing modding community, at worst we might need a few extra years to have a definitive Stalker 2 experience.
This is beautiful, my favorite memory of Stalker is exploring, sky gets dark, i was getting stalked by some monsters, I manage to killed it with little health left and near death, then I come across a small ruin village and there are some friendly NPS just sitting by the fire and play guitar so I joined them, for a moment there I rested and felt safe and ready to continue again.
Good video. I think GSC definitely needs to show some things before release. Like story trailer, dev diaries about A-Life 2.0, maybe about new mo-cap studio etc. And for sure new long gameplay. Realy hope they will start heavily promote the game at the start of next year.
Excellent video! I hope they follow through with making modding accessible. Companies have GOT to understand that nurturing a healthy modding scene is what makes their game stay relevant for years afterwards
I read somewhere that modding support was confirmed for STALKER 2. I understand the necessary dose of salt but I feel confident about it. Look at how popular anomaly/gamma/EFP is right now. The devs gave their explicit blessing for those games so.... We should be good.
Couple of Mentions I wanted to make. -At 6:39 - The location is called "Perimeter" - It looks to be the same area where Skif was fighting the (Possibly IPSF) stalkers in the Come to Me Trailer at night. -At 7:02 - The Flesh location might be the same location as the one at 6:34 - The Artwork is called "Flesh Farm" and the building looks to be similar as to the one in the Bolts & Bullets trailer. Even more, in B&B you can see Fleshes in there. -Talking about factions - Noon has been confirmed as I have been told in the "Cypher". And due to the striking similarities, Strider might be the leader indeed. -Also about factions - Seems like there is no Military anymore, or at the least the name changed. It's "IPSF" now Great Video, brother! Was worth the wait!
I'm guessing the reasoning for the military changing is obvious due to the conflict in Ukraine. Probably not wise creating a sequel to the previous game where your own military are one of the bad guy factions while they are fighting IRL to protect their country. I'm disappointed that we aren't seeing either SIN or UNISG make an appearance since they were supposed to be in the original games. Ohh well! Not a fan of them humanizing Monolith "zombies" either, but maybe there is a good reason for that which is in the story.
@@Whiskey11Gamingiirc, Monolith was supposed to be a more "human" faction after Sin was cut in SoC, but there were development issues that led to them being the more "zombified" enemies we ended up with. This is probably just GSC realizing the true model for the faction they envisioned way back when.

They just exist to keep away the new stalkers from pouring into the zone and hunt illegal trespassers on sight, because there is a risk of carrying the contamination outside of the Zone into the real world. Anyone who has played the trilogy will say the same.
@OXY187 because the Military is launching an assault on the NPP when you are in the first game and you spend the majority of the time fighting them? They shoot you on site rather than more reasonable means, etc. It's not difficult to understand why the Military is part of the "bad guys" in the original trilogy. Yes, their ideology/mission is to keep things in the zone or out of the zone, but the original games don't do that good of a job of explaining that.

Well props to GSC for making X-Ray engine open source. I mean look at the quality of mods like Anomaly and for that matter GAMMA. Turning the X-Ray engine into 64bit compatible engine by the community was an astonishing feat. It's power was in it's moddability and I really hope they keep their promise of that with the new game. It's what has allowed such an old game to stay relevant for this long.
So let me get this straight, not only have they brought back Rostok and the 100 rads bar but they also included the g36c variant of the g36 rifle. Sweet, I really cant wait got play stalker 2 even more that I already am.
Old zones from the trilogy are going to be there its been confirmed long time ago, some cut early builds from original stalker also included like vehicle cemetery, also old zones going to be expanded and new ones added
For shotguns they could add the VEPR also. A few more models of AK, like the classic 7,62 AK and AK 12. And more snipers. SV98, an 12.7 sniper rifle, the SVU. And more pistols... Deagle is pretty iconic everywhere, even in the old games.
I'm mostly worried about two things; performance, because UE5 hasn't been out for nearly long enough for people to learn it well enough to deliver properly optimized experiences, and mod support because such claims often end up disappointing.
@@anomalousdugout9557 we still have the story beat, which we'll all do several times at least for sure, so we got some time until modding takes off anyway. I'm excited for the factions part yet again, I'm really glad they didn't shrug it off as some "old" or "beaten" mechanic.
As long as it has the really good dynamic AI they keep promising that's all I care about. I'm not worried about the environment because I know it will be breathtaking. Performance should be okay because they're leaving last-gen behind, obviously there will be patches if necessary. Mods always seem to come with time.
@@Particle_Ghost your take on performance is kinda weird. There's very little preventing companies delivering an experience for both current and last gen devices, especially these days, with how advanced and extensive in-game settings can be. Counting on people having top-of-the-line PCs is the epitome of lazy development and poor optimization efforts, this should be discouraged and nobody should have this "just buy the new thing" mentality, for so many reasons.
@@jrknsOFF Because you can't play test performance the way you think you can. If it's a console exclusive then it's rather easier to narrow down. When you're releasing it on multiple platforms especially a PC, it leaves far more opportunity for bugs. 100 different people can even have 100 different PC setups, the game is primarily tested with the units they have on-site. When a game is finished it's also normally tested very fast and released, they don't finish developing a game and then sit around play testing it for 6 months, some things are fixed as they are reported and discovered. Games are also getting harder and harder to play test because of the scale of games. Something as small as being in a specific location with a specific item in your inventory can even cause an issue. You can even have 100 game testers run past an open field and see that a section plays fine, then it can be released. However, then a random player runs down that same field while jumping over a haystack and the game can crash. Believe It or not sometimes it often takes the player base to discover many bugs. This example however, is not an excuse for a developer that releases a half ass game.

@anomalousdugout9557 Yeah! Immediately had memories of faction wars from clear sky. Something that Survarium very much wanted to accomplish on a larger scale. Even if its not as technical gameplay wise as Survarium sought out to be, the simplicity would be just fine. As long as its fun!

About Ruined Zone: For Trailer Purposes the Game has been darken for nostalgic moments and feeling of how much time has been passed. The areas will still look ruined but will have natural lighting instead of Darkness. This was made using newer trailer and people describing it This is not a leak just information
I still can't wait for its release and mods. Looks like a lot of my games will be forgotten when it finally releases. Only Henry I'm looking forward to.
Good summary. You didn't mention that player can no longer hide from blowouts in any building but he needs to find one of the shelters to protect himself
@@B.L.I.N.O.V. There's some buildings that count as shelters in the original games that are pretty questionable for effectiveness. Garbage has two I can think of, the Train-station has gaping holes in the roof, and then the ruined building south of the checkpoint to rostok, you hide on the ground there and you have building above you, and to your North and East, but West and South is open air - still counts as shelter. Meanwhile if you jump the wrong way in some shelters you instantly die lol
Easily the most stressful aspect of playing STALKER GAMMA is the friggen emissions showing up while crossing Darkscape or some other area sparsely populated with cover... making that worse is going to make me want to club a baby seal...
A complete, comprehensive compilation! Thank you for putting this together Stalker! On the co-op mode thing, i mostly played solo and i m happy GSC is continuing the tradition. Would i want to play in co-op mode? I don't know as i was happy playing solo; i guess i will have to try it out when it gets released.
The game looks packed from all the gathered information. In theory, everything sounds pretty exciting but in practice... I wonder how the game will turns out to be. Let's just wait and see.
i would guess season pass and multiplayer so like in cod Cold War. and maybe in the season pass u can get those camos for Multiplayer and singleplayer or the season pass is something Driffrent idk
One of things that get me about survival games or post nuclear fallout is that its all gloomy and dark. Seems to me that with no people around for a while or small amounts there would be tons of wildlife,plant life etc and why is everything so gloomy and overcast. Why no sunshine? It would be cool to see beautiful sunshine, nature and then to contrast it, falling down ruins

I suspect the guy ontop of the building at 7min is Strelok. His facial features match up, the hair is the biggest thing that doesn't match. It's unusual they hide the name too, so I imagine we won't find out till launch.
Face tracked characters always looked weird. I think its got to do with that uncanny valley thing... On a Seperate note, my thoughts are if it can be at least as good as the OGs or as good as Anomaly, i think it will be alright. and with dedicated Mod Support i think its gonna all pan out.

I don't know how to feel about a more desolate Zone, I feel like the Zone was very full of life in Call of Pripyat and Clear sky, I don't see how it could become more desolate, unless its an anomaly approach where a disaster occurred again.
With those HW requirements... seems I'll be re-playing the original trilogy for at least another decade before being able to run STALKER 2. Such is life in the zone.
The game is demanding, but it will support DLSS. The fact that it has been delayed so many times and the built in Gamescom was not near a finished product are concearning, but, I don't know, I am possitive that in the end we will play a good game. Many complain about graphical "downgrade", we are not sure yet, not until we play the game, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games were never famous for the graphics, rather for the atmosphere and the immersion that gives. If I wanted excellent graphics I would be more anticipated for Crysis 4. Maybe the game will not be the best game of 2024, maybe it will not be the best sequel, but I hope it will be S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. I hope that it will be a worthy entry in the franchise. Even if we get dissapointed, even if it will not be worthy to be called "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.", I think it will still be a OK game, a fun experience and it will not be the end of the world, older games are there and wait us and modders will do amazing job. At least we can rely on community! Fortunately we are getting something, one of my favorite franchises, Command and Conquer, is dead 13 years now and we don't know why... I would love to see a new C&C game, even if it will be mediocre. Better than nothing. That's why I am possitive for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
Ive been playing stalker gamma for a lot of hours lately, and i wonder if the devs are taking some inspiration from it. I cant wait to see the game, and hopefully the devs take as much time to make the final product 10/10 so we dont get another disaster release like cyberpunk
@@anomalousdugout9557 I agree, but I'm referring to shadow of Chernobyl because it underwent major changes in it's development and almost never released.
60 Km squared? That not what I would call "one of the biggest" considering Chernarus is 250 Km squared of carefully composed terrain. Though it surely is better than what we currently have in Anomaly.
I think he meant the biggest in terms of stalker games, even moded stalker games with old maps included is nothing near as in S2 as far i read somewhere its like 2x times bigger than anomaly map.
If this game is even basically the same as the others but upgraded graphics ill be happy. If they can add new factions, stories etc ill be happy I dont even need cutting edge graphics. Even last gen would be an improvement from stalkers 2-3 gens behind.
