Cheers for 45k subs, everyone! And also sorry for sounding really echoey in a small part of this video I may or may not have accidentally had the mic too far away from my face lol. But don't let that distract you from the fact that GameSpot called it Yakuza Kiami and then they forgot that Lost Judgment, Ishin, and Gaiden exist
In an interview from Famitsu that I read today, Horii (or someone else I can't remember correctly) said that the game was going to have over 200 outfit items and that the TGS trial was moreso fun-focused and easy, and (specifically in reference to the Doppelgangers) in the final version it won't be as OP. Btw, Soma's haircut is also in the new outfit customization. Another interesting new thing is Bounties, which was supposedly available in the TGS demo in Madlantis but I did not see any footage of it. Basically it's just strong enemies that you defeat to "help Majima grow", whatever that means (I think there were some new icons on the map, so those are probably the strong enemies). He also said this game's coliseum is still a secret and what it entails was going to be revealed later. Final important thing is that Yokoyama sorta hyped up 8th December since its the series' 19th anniversary and said (google translated) "In addition to new information about the game, we have begun preparations that will force the world, including in real life, to pay attention to us, so please keep an eye on the movements of the RGG studio." (totally not my attempt at being more autistic than you, great video tho)
An announcement that will force the entire world to look at RGG sounds like Yokoyama is giving his grand shirtless villain speech on top of the Millennium Tower
Wow, this video titled Everything New in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza So Far! published by SnowiestAngeman who has 45K RU-vid Subscribers was a fantastic watch. I even put it at max resolution and WOW. Great Video Snowy, hope you and your life is swell! I manifest that you get a Golden Retriever for Christmas =)
Fun Fact the first time you play as Majima (or atleast his Ancestor Gorohachi/Shishido Baiken) is in Kenzan. Which also another fact Shishido Baiken ended up losing his memories aswell. So if were to have a nickel for everytime Majima or his Ancestor had lost their memories i would have 2 nickels total, which isn't a lot but surprising it happened twice.
Acoustic rant: “Like a Dragon Gaiden: Pirates in Hawaii” would have worked just fine! Heck, if we were insistent on keeping the work Yakuza in the title, “Like a Dragon Gaiden: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” was on the table! BUT NOOOOOOO, we need to CHANGE THE TITLE! I thought we’d gotten past the need for this, considering how the name of the entire series got changed! But nope! Can’t have the word Gaiden in the title, that’s a step too far!
I get that many people likely won't understand what gaiden means, but it helps recognize this "subseries" And I say subseries because it has the boutique, brawler fighting, a theme of having the mc do or be something not really doable in mainline LAD (although agent was more or less baked in the lore already thanks to 6, 7 and IW) and having a purgatory style thing I know those are just two games, but I think these things will remain staples of Gaiden titles because they know the fans (me included) like them
Gameplay does look good but it seems they’ve ran out of ideas if this is what they thought of, but I hope they didn’t learn the wrong lessons from 7 gaiden because it does have a similar approach, plus live action crap that’ll probably take up 25GB of file size.
@@doba1err_ I mean what is this game? lol like is it a mainline title/spin off or is it like a mobile game or a pachinko machine? I don’t really keep up with new releases and stuff so I was hoping somebody more enlightened could just give me some information lol Don’t worry though since leaving the comment I just googled it 🤣
Man, when this was announced I was floored. Went to the Steam forums thinking I'll see a bunch of folks being happy and memeing it up. I was then reminded why I should never go to the Steam forums.
The fact that we're getting old heat actions from 0 make me SO FUCKING HYPE FOR THIS GAME I'M GONNA BUST... (also i've been dreaming of a reign remix for the final long battle)
Like a Mad Dog Gaiden: The Man Who Forgot His Name and also where he is and is he a Yakuza? AHHHHHHH WHERE AM I also I make funny yakuzer videos so u should check them out (after you are done watching this masterpiece by the king)
I wish we could play as that Joryu guy again! He was way cooler than Kiryu. I mean, Agent Style?! C’mon! Totally awesome! Kiryu wishes he had that style. Hope Kiryu’s doing okay though.
The combat in this game, looks SICK, AS HELL. Bringing back air combos from Akiyama Yakuza 5? YES PLEASE. Bringing back Thug style moves from Y0? YES PLEASE. Adding shadow clone jutsu? YEEESSSSSS PLEEEAAASSSEEE
Great vid mate. However, you did miss (by no fault of your own, my RGG autism just seems more potent than yours) in a preview video for the game by 2 guys who were kinda like a podcast or smth. They said a Sega rep said to them during their time with the demo at TGS, that this game's boutique isn't finished. but seriously, nice vid!
I was able to play the game at TGS and I concur with you observation that with the new fighting mechanics it made the game play a little easy. Of course it was the demo and the difficulty was fixed and I'm hoping in the final game it will be a bit more challenging. But nonetheless, it was cool.
It kinda makes sense he is fast as hell, he's a speedy character after all Maybe they'll balance it out in some way, but personally, it's best to have fun combat than to ruin the fun in trying to balance stuff, cause fair challenge is difficult Gaiden games are shorter, so it's best to focuse on giving players a spectacle
Banger video as always My only concern with this game is the juggle limit, since LAD: gaiden has a limit of 6 seconds in the air before activating the enemy's super armour.
Okay so I've been trying to analyze all the footage I could, but it seems like I've missed some big stuff so I'm wondering if you found any answers to these thoughts or questions I've been having. 1. Does the eye poke still exist for thug style? I haven't seen any footage of it being used but other mechanics like how Majima can still dash behind enemies, his hook lets him go behind enemies and I've seen the heat action Icon appear in mad dog style as soon as the player gets behind an enemy however, I still haven't seen that heat action being used (I'm assuming it's the neck snap one). 2. Does chomp still exist? I haven't seen it and I also don't recognize most of the attacks in knife mode they all look unique to this game but I may be wrong. 3. Are the swords reusing animations from other games? I feel like I recognize some of the dual stick and dual sword weapon moves in there but there are also some moves that seem entirely unique. 4. Is it really thug style when the swords are thrown? I don't know why but I've had trouble deciding on whether or not it is. Maybe it looks slower or something or maybe it has less moves idk. Anyway happy to see someone analyze the footage more.
I think the Doppelgangers will be similar to Vergil's Doppelganger thing. But more similar to the DmC DMC Reboot version where they have his Devil Trigger activates Doppelganger.
I'm guessing that there'll be more things in the outfit customization than shown, because I feel like someone at RGG said that there were over 200 items to use, which is like more than double of Gaidens. (could be wrong though cause I can't remember where I heard it)
Another thing is that it group heat actions can be performed on bosses now unlike gaiden where 2 of the daidoji group heat actions were unusable on them
Pirate Yakuza wasn't the first game to have a jump button. That belongs to Fist of the North Star. Though it was only limited to rage mode. It also has proper juggling, but that one is easily the worst Yakuza has to offer. The best it offered was that you can send enemies flying REALLY far, and if they hit the wall they will bounce right back to you. I want a sequel man don't judge me.
Seeing that this is another Gaiden, does that mean the story length and total content is going to be Gaiden-sized? I’m not complaining but it’d be awesome if they reveal a big management-sized activity about being a pirate
My favourite part is when pirate Majima looked at the camera and said “it’s pirate Majima time” and then pirated a pirate movie while dressed like a pirate. I’ll be pirating this game in the spirit of pirate pirating piracy!
@@MrRobertGillan I’m sorry if I caused you any discomfort Mister Gillan. I am happy it caused you to cringe though, apparently I have captured the spirit of this game perfectly.
