in which i talk about how the oscar wilde quote "everything popular is wrong" is the best system for navigating the nonsense of modern life. #oscarwilde #selfimprovement #thematrix
So true. Ironically, "critical thinking" in school usually just boils down to "trust established authorities." Imagine a teacher starting the semester by saying: "Question everything I say!" (:
I have started to see doctors reccomending flexible shoes now for people with foot problem. I had a pair of sketcher walking shoes and after my feet were so in pain that I couldn't walk more than half a mile before needing to lay down seething in pain for a hour after. the only reason my current shoes aren't hurting me is because they're made of poor materials, and the fabric top section came unglued from the top (this is a "wide size" shoe mind you). my birthday is coming up soon and I plan on getting barefoot shoes. I've needed to find a specific brand that actually sells "wide size" shoes, because the last time I tried barefoot shoes, they were far too narrow for me. I can't just get "wide toebox" shoes, I need specific "wide size" mostly because I have caveman-like feet that are stubby. I've been trying to get on a better diet but that's hard when things like lettuce can't sit in my stomach. so I physically can't get into raw vegan, otherwise I would've done it already. I can't stomach the crunch of lettuce or onion, and things like it. I've tried to force it down but it's very hard, but I'm still trying to work on it.
Yea, not all barefoot brands are wide. BeLenka bit.ly/3TloaW7 and Softstar bit.ly/440RNAf are two extra-wide barefoot brands I love. For diet, you're got the right idea, definitely don't force foods that don't feel right. Greens can be quite hard to digest at first. Try some alkaline fruits like papaya, mango, and banana, which are super easy to handle.
Is there a mechanism for the cavity thing, or what was the dentist's rationale for it? I guess it's assumed the body is re-making the tooth material from scratch, like repairing a fractured bone? Maybe similar to the way a WFPB diet reverses heart disease - taking out the stuff that causes the artery plaque to build up gives the body a chance to remove it, in the same way that not consuming foods that are cavity-inducing gives the body a chance to repair the cavity
Yea, I think his point was that the body is constantly in a damage/repair cycle, and just because you have a cavity one day doesn't mean it's still going to be there in six months. Mostly the body takes care of itself, as long as you're not overwhelming it with junk food.
Totally, I love pizza! You can give it up, it'll just take some time and experimenting to recreate the dish on whatever diet you switch to. Personally, I was addicted to dairy for like 30 years and never thought I could live without it, but after I switched to making stuff with raw coconut milk I find dairy to be gross. There are lots of coconut milk cheese and gluten-free pizza recipes out there you could give a whirl.
"nonsense and fuckery", I love it! I completely agree with you on this. You'll love this one: have you seen Altras new shoes that have a drop from heel to toe?!!
@@foltsy I'm so disappointed by them. Definitely sold out. I'm in barefoot shoes for almost everything day-to-day but was looking for something with 5-10mm cushion for long road runs and it turns out that doesn't exist 😯
Damn, yea, allergies can be caused by a lot of different factors. Cutting out acidic foods, gluten, sugar, and heavy starches (like potato/oats) would be a few other things to play around with. Soaking and sprouting all nuts, seeds, and grains is also important, since anti-nutrients can def cause allergies.
Really helpful vid, thanks Andrew. I'm noticing this now with barefoot shoes and raw veganism. I can't believe how much better I feel after eating a raw salad or just fruits/nuts. But when I look around at our food culture or how people are so scared of where they will get protein etc. It doesn't make any sense. I'm still struggling a little to go raw as all my comfort foods I've grown up eating are cooked foods with lots of oil and salt etc, but I can notice the difference even after one meal. Even with barefoot shoes it's like how can shoes that deform your feet be so common? We are constantly fed things that make us insecure and afraid and it's difficult to see and unlearn all of this conditioning.
Hey, way to go, Neil! Noticing is the first step, but you can take things slow and just do what works along the way. Sometimes even "healthy" things like raw vegan can lead you astray if you get to locked into them. Your body/intuition will always guide you to the right place. (:
Start with eating a clean diet. My Brain Fog ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TT7huKIj0Cc.html and Raw Vegan ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aLwnc3aPIb8.htmlsi=a3-kq6wJkUFrjRSV videos are a good place to start. What I would do is begin with adding more fresh organic fruit, which is very clarifying, and slowly replacing dairy, gluten, and processed junk food and sugar. In 2021 I was a wreck with suicidal depression, and my naturopathic practitioner, Karen Pringle, turned my whole life around when I started doing HTMA's (hair tissue mineral analysis) to get my nutritional levels back to normal: mamazshaman.com
