Two years and 30,000+ miles in review with my 6.4 Powerstroke and the issues that I've had so far. I still like this truck! Check out my playlist on this truck for my other videos referenced in this video. Please Subscribe!
Two of these issues in particular may appear to be self-inflicted, but consider the following: 1. A huge percentage of 6.4 owners who delete their DPFs never do an EGR delete, leaving the coolers in place as I had initially done. The rupturing of the horizontal cooler that I experienced was a result of the delete, however it is a legitimate issue that many owners have/will experience with the truck configured that way without the EGR deleted. As most people who are even slightly familiar with these trucks know, doing these deletes are IMPERATIVE to obtain any length of life out of these trucks. 2. The broken pin in the clutch fan harness which had affected the A/C system is just a pain to deal with in general. The connector is extremely difficult to disconnect as the metal prongs become virtually welded together over the years. Anybody that has done a serpentine belt change on one of these trucks knows exactly what I am talking about. I am certainly not the first, and definitely not the last person to separate a pin from this harness by accident. Yes, this was a mistake, but who knows if I could have ever gotten it apart without that pin slipping loose. This is a tough little problem to find and I wanted to include it in this video as it is a simple problem that will be overlooked 9/10 times. This video was intended to be an honest and detailed account of my ownership thus far. Nothing more and nothing less. If this truck gives me bigger troubles down the road, they will be documented here on the channel. I have nothing negative to report at this time because nothing from the laundry list of issues that these trucks can experience have actually happened to me personally. Everyone has a 6.4 horror story. I'll wait to tell mine until it actually happens to me. We will see how long this truck lives for! Thank you for watching.
Taylor, thanks for the video... really great and informative. I have an 08 F350 with the 6.4L, have not yet done the DPF, but will be doing it soon. I too planned to leave the EGR in place until it became an issue. My question is, how many miles did you go before it went on you, and what was the mileage when it did? Thanks.
Taylor Smith, I also have a 6.4 but my biggest problem is that mine ran away after a turbo failure but I still have and is currently rebuilding it, luckily the engine is still in good shape and it is also completely stock with about 233,000 miles but now I’m getting it all deleted. I have been working on it for the past 6 months and just finally got it to start but only for about 15 seconds then it just shuts off and goes in to a crank no start and there a no codes popping up so I’m assuming it might be a fuel system issue
@@todda8695 its smart not buying a $75,000 truck. It's not smart buying a truck that has a junk engine in it. Anyone you talk to that works on diesels will tell you the 6.4l PS is a junk engine, just buy a different engine.
Dillon Lawrence I’ve got a 08 6.4. I was wondering if you’ve had any issues and how long have you owned it. I purchased mine with 55k and deleted it soon after. It currently has 93k and I haven’t had any issues. Just wanted to see how your doing being yours had more miles
@@tjlift22 I havent had it very long, it was one of my best friends trucks so I've been around it for years. The motor blew up on him because of the emission controls so he rebuilt the whole thing and deleted it with aftermarket parts. I did have the capped egr pipe blow out so I deleted the whole pipe. Last weekend i had the transfer case blow up on me due to the front drive shaft going out. If you lose power, it's most likely one of the up pipes for the turbos. If you feel the truck start vibrating when your driving pull over immediately and unbolt your front drive shaft, I made the mistake of letting it go and now the trucks down until I can dish out 1500 on a new transfer case. I love the truck and it's worth every problem I've had though.
I have the same tuck mentioned in this video. Over 250K. BONE STOCK! I pull big horse trailers and very big Teton Homes 5th wheel with it. The truck has amazing power. I still own a N/A 6.9 that I bought in high school, a N/A 7.3 and a Powerstroke 7.3 as well. I've owned two 6.0's. One of those went bang at 37,000 miles. The other one had just over 200 trouble free when I sold it. The 6.4 has had a few problems. Mostly cooling system related and not major. I personally think you can avoid most problems with these trucks by using them as they were designed. In other words, keep them warm/hot. These are not designed to be grocery-go-getters or commute cars. They are designed to haul. You can let an old 6.9 or 7.3 idle with the a/c on for a week and not hurt it. You idle any modern diesel for more than a few minutes and you'll have problems. Those twin turbo chargers provide an excellent balance of power at the low end and high end. Is it possible that the motor will become a boat anchor somewhere down the road? Sure. But my truck has been paid off for a long time and I use it for what it's designed to be used for. I suspect it will give me another 100K to 150K before I think about a rebuild.
99% of people that talk bad about these truck never had one, they can be great trucks. 331000 on mine when sold, two alternators that was the only problem I ever had, I have moved on to the 6.7, love the truck but never will it make the power my 6.4 did
@Camo maybe so now. I've never driven a tuned 6.7 newer than a 2014, but up until then I still have to say 6.4. Smoked several 6.7 with my 6.4 including the 6.7 I have now. I've have owned all powerstroke from 1995 to 2014. The 6.4 was a bad ass. Just my Opinion
Bought one brand new in 2010 the last year the 6.4. The only thing I replaced on the truck is the alternator that’s it. I know other people have had problems with them, but I have had zero problems with my 6.4 power stroke@@kennycopeland282
Make sure you are clearing the water separator (located on the driver side frame, about halfway down the truck, looks like a black box with a little tube coming out of it.) Draining this of water until you see only diesel fuel coming through. Forgetting to do this can cause water to get into the engine, and thats just a bad time for anyone.
I didn’t do as much research it as I should of on the 6.4 before I bought. but after hearing some horror stories after I bought it, I was happy to find your post. I think I got lucky, the truck had 109,000 miles on it, the previous owner took great care of it inside and out. After watching your videos I ordered the replacement exhaust and the EGR delete kit plus the minimax tuner. Looking forward to seeing the oil stay clean for longer then 100 miles after I change it. Thanks again please keep posting!
After 3 factory primary radiator failures, I purchased S&B body mounts and mishimoto primary radiator, on my f250 6.7. No more radiator problems and the S&B mounts, makes the truck feel like you are driving a new truck. Good luck and great channel sir.
When tuning with the Mini Maxx after a full delete on a 6.4L, make sure you DO NOT choose the “easy” tune as it will try to cycle the EGR valve and you will still get the wrench symbol trouble code. You need to select either the “mild” or “HD300” tune in order to be trouble code free..
Tyler Smith I really appreciate the step by step on the videos , I also have a 2010 6.4 Harley Edition close to 150 k miles , my first Diesel truck and didn't know the Headache that came with owning a 6.4 , I'm in the process for doing the delete on it , so I learned quite a bit watching your videos , Thanks again .
Dude ! Perfect. I have a 6.4 as well. All the same issues you addressed I had to fix. The one I had problems figuring out I think you mentioned .. the fuel rail pressure sensor. The symptoms you had are similar to mine. When it’s hot , In gear , at full stop or at a red light ... I hope this will fix my idle as well! Either way thank you Taylor! Appreciate.
Just found your channel great to finally find someone that knows the 6.4 intimately now I hope I can keep following you for as long as you keep your truck. But I will keep mine forever or something catastrophic happins. As always keep the shiny side up 😊
Hey Brother great job on the jumper wire for the fan clutch-you could’ve been chasing your tail on that entire issue & wasted not only $$$ but good ac parts as well - jumping down a Rabbitt hole can be very costly-anyway thanks for your time, btw im a die hard Chevrolet fanatic as well as a self employed Mobile Diesel Mechanic for the last 27 years & i get great tips from your videos as I have customers w/2008,09&10 6.4l power strokes-thanks again you do a great job in your clear & audible speech, detail & down to earth common sense.🤙
I'm on your side bud got a 2010, bought used and derated at the time. Took a gamble removed all the emissions off the truck put a simple gearbox z tune it's been a blessing every since. Still have a few things I'm working through but its to be expected like you said. Keep up the channel please.
Thank you for this video. I have an 08 f450, used through a dealer, it had been a hot shot so a lot of changes had been done with the engine. I was have major problems like you said, but on mine it shut down, and would only idle. About the time I had it fixed I let a friend borrow it and they filled it with gas instead of diesel. So with putting in a new rebuild engine that fixed everything. Still learning about changing fuel filters, and minor repairs myself. Love the truck it's a work horse.
Maintenance is the key to every vehicle all makes and models I have a 6.4 and love it and I have a 2012 6.7 and the 6.4 Will run circles round a 6.7 and even out tow it to
I have a 2008 F450 Harley edition. It was fully deleted at 36000kms and I studded it without pulling the heads (original head gaskets) at 136 000kms. I've put some minor upgrades throughout the years . Truck has treated me great and I keep up with good servicing. Proper frequent services prevent most failures.
Bought my 2008 6.4 with 105k miles, transmission went out one week later; replaced transmission and have not had a problem since. 175k miles now, has a tune, dpf and EGR delete. I love the truck
Nice truck. I have 2 of the 6.4's. One is a 2008 F250 which I bought with about 150,000 miles on it, but it had already been deleted, and had been well taken care of. I've put well over 60,000 miles on it with no issues. Also have a 2008 F350 that wasn't in great shape when I bought it, and I had a local diesel mechanic do the delete on it. However, it was too late. On a trip to Wyoming hauling some stuff, I lost the engine. Cracked pistons, the whole nine yards. Moral of the story is religious maintenance and servicing. I love my 6.4.
@@mutanay77 Because I can pull the 5.9 for like 1000$ and have a more reliable platform than even a built 6.4. To make them reliable you have to go billet and you’re talking about $30,000+ in a motor. I can blow up nearly 30 5.9s before I match the total. Plus it’s a f450 so it’s really meant for hauling/towing and Cummins is king for that. I’m not pulling sleds, just some skid steers and excavators and HDPE
@@BigBlockOverland well you’re not wrong on the grand for a 5.9. But I daily a 6.4 for 2 years now and a simple delete and tuning is all I need. And if you want to go built the max is like $15K from choate or kdd. Not 30k
@@mutanay77 not bad pricing if it’s billet. We have bullet proofed 6.0s and 6.4s in our fleet and they’ve been great and can pull like hell with a conservative tune, but, I’ve seen some swap videos that made me want to do the swap. Especially the ones from Taylor Ray. I just want to engage the challenge to do it to have something different and easy as heck to work on.
THANK YOU for problem number 4!!! I have been having the same exact issue with my ‘08 F250 it runs cold on the highway but at idle it blows just not cold air. You are the only person that has mentioned the exact same problem. I will have to check to see if that is the same issue on mine. I have also had to switch out the alternator and I’ve had issues with the glow plugs as well. It was also glow plug number 8 that was throwing a code. We just went ahead and switched out all the glow plugs and wiring. Honestly, I love my 6.4 😁
Thanks Taylor, l got my 08 450 last year and am now getting ready to do the egr and dpf delete. Had the same problem with my fan clutch plug when I replaced the radiator. They are a BA looking truck.
Beautiful truck! I have a 2008 F250 and deleted everything at 32k miles. I love my truck. I have the H&S mini max and 99% of the time set it on "no power" and when towing I set it on "mild" as to not overload/hurt the trany/turbo due to the fact the original factory components were not designed for the added HP and torque. Oil, oil filter, fuel filters and coolant cap changes every 3k miles. Coolant flush/replacement every 2-3 years is key to protecting the "wet sleved" engine.
Great video bro! Stay strong 6.4! I also installed a coolant filter kit. I had read somewhere that our radiator also has some cast aluminum parts that breakdown some allowing the contaminates to flow through 🤷♂️. I believed it and installed a filter to help that out. Another collant problem I had was the driver side main line from the block only has 1 oring inside each end. Mine began to leak pretty bad over the course of a couple weeks. Luckily Motorcraft redesigned this line to have 2 orings on each end. So after a nice shower of coolant that has been replaced and never been an issue since! 126000 miles and still going strong!
I agree silver is my favorite color, but my F350 2010 is Duck Green which works with my super clean 88 Western wilderness Camper. Keep it up and don't get rid of that truck.
Thanks for the info on the horizontal EGR valve. I had my DPF delete done. I've reached out to my mechanic and shared your snippet on the EGR issue. I'm waiting on his reply.
Same story, 2008 Grandpa truck (Lariat CCSB, RWD). Bought it for a song from a Ford dealership because it had a broken Y-pipe. I was able to replace that, delete the DPF and EGR and tune it for less than $500. This was all with the cab on, as I have skinny arms and tiny hands, and an excellent sawz-all. It's worth more now than I paid for it, but as long as SWAMBO keeps her travel trailer, I'm keeping Grandpa.
Just picked up a well used 2008 F350 to be the "junk truck", used for towing or taking things the dump or other things the daily driver can't or shouldn't do. Former fleet truck, chassis cab with 9' Knappheide utility body and 1,300lbs Tommy Gate. Previously used by Thyssen Krupp elevators. Had it delivered to a mechanic to be gone over before putting it back on the road and he was blown away about how good the 6.4L ran. Fully stock except for an aftermarket fuel filter cap. 206k miles. But, now I'll know what to keep an eye on!
I have an ‘08 I bout last year and absolutely love it. I knew going into it as well and had no problem at all. I put the H&S tuner, deleted and straight piped with coolant filter, db venom uplift pump, mishimoto oil catch can, banks intercooler and pipes. She pulls my dump trailer and bobcat beautifully.
Very nice looking truck. Love the dully in the 6.4 best My brother has two 6.4 trucks they work great after deleting as long as they were not washed out already when they were deleted. The problem with the dpf on them was the exhaust stroke being used to fuel the dpf witch washes the oil off the cylinder walls causing them to wear fast then lose compression. But the gm lmm engine had the same problem. Then some make it a long time with he dpf still on if they run nice and clean and if they are run dirty they are likely to blow up sooner.
My last problem with my 08 F250 was a high pressure fuel pump cable/connector that required the cab removal - $3,000 to replace $50 part.... I love the truck by it takes courage to own one.
Ive owned mine for 3 years. I got the truck with 66k miles on it and as of this moment it has 75,xxx on it and it has been sitting for 5 months. Truck has blown head gaskets, a messed up transmission, and steering problems. The owner before me abused the shit out of it and now i am stuck with it. I only paid 8k on iaa salvage auction because a tree fell on the cab. I bought the truck at 17 while i was still in school and me and my dad spent 2 weekends swapping the cab and interior as well as both passenger doors and the hood. I gave it a few months saved my money and had the truck deleted. While i was waiting on the rebuilt title to come in after it took 6 months to get a new vin plate. The truck was running good (I assumed). The first thing I noticed when i started driving it was the steering was loose and the transmission made a chattering noise but shifted fine. Then one day getting on the interstate i was driving and stepped into it and a buddy of mine was behind me, he called me on the phone and told me that the truck had just shot coolant out the driver side fender well. The truck has never overheated since ive owned it. After that happened I replaced every component of the cooling system and it didnt fix it, coolant was still disappearing slowly. Then the transmission shit the bed. So here i am 20 years old with a truck that i dont have the money to fix and if i sell it i wont get much out of it. I hope you have better luck with yours than i have mine
There is a plate on the front of the engine if you don't keep the coolant up with good diesel engine antifreeze it will pitt and cause serious damages. Check for coolant in the oil. Get it out of there fast my repair coast me 3K. It started with coolant going down for no obvious reason then I started using strait water. This was 2018. No trouble since. But I got lucky. Real lucky
At 142000 miles my 09 6.4 grenaded. The #8 piston cracked. I spent the money for a re-manufactured engine. It runs great. I have a warranty on the engine and I still love the truck. It was a lot of money and it hurt, but to sell it and buy a new one would have been even more money.
@Trae Thibodeaux It was deleted around 129000 miles. But lets face it, it had spent too much time with the DPF and EGR. I knew this could happen before I bought the truck, but it still sucked. Now the truck runs great. It has the Jasper reman engine. It is also studded. I have no reason to believe I can't get 200000 miles out of her.
I have a 2010 6.4 with 412,000 on it. Have only ever changed oil and coolant per service manual and a serpentine belt. Nothing ever has happened to mine. Makes me believe most people with problems either beat theirs or are shitty with maintenance
Mine was maintained from day one by Ford every 5k miles and it killed 2 short blocks before 75k miles. It was 100% stock and never towed near its max capacity. 🤷♂️
So basically what I’m getting from this is that with a full EGR delete and proper maintenance it’s a solid engine bc the system can’t really tear the engine apart. I’m thinking of getting one but I’m a little worried about having a bad experience with it.
I'm good with the deletes I've done she's a happy truck, pulls my toys, and hauls a good load when needed. As I have said I'm looking at a blend door issue. This one has me scratching my head. Maybe because I have to remove the passenger airbag. Boom.😮. Ya I know. Don't be afraid little kitty. Remember to disconnect the batteries. I've been told to let it sit through lunch. Something about residual power. Any help out there?
Nice video. Thanks and I appreciate the information. I bought a 2008 F350 Lariat 6.4 diesel in January of 2019 with 119k miles. Within a month and around 121k miles, the wiring harness located above the HPFP went bad and had to be replaced which meant lifting the cab. I went ahead and had the HPFP replaced at the same time. I had a warranty that covered half the cost. Since then, I have had no major problems. The truck runs very well. I do maintain and take care of my vehicles and do regular maintenance at the local Ford shop. Current miles is around 126k miles. I do use a fuel additive (Archoil products). It goes through a regen about every 200-300 miles and recently it has done a regen at the 400 mile point. Overall, this truck runs very well.
@@Overthewall1977 Yes, still running great. Had to get some brake work done and replace some brake lines, but some of these things come with age. Otherwise, the truck is still running great.
The biggest problem i see is from neglect. Frequent oil changes with synthetic oil and coolant replacement with the Motorcraft coolant additive is key. Heavy tunes and abuse are also tough on a 6.4. Remove the valve covers and check the rocker arm tips for wear every 50.000 miles and replace as necessary. I have seen these engines last 300.000 and more with proper care. Most of the "know it alls" have been trained by RU-vid and the internet and have never had the hood open on one.
Front covers always have cavitation. Turbos are Junk. There’s a reason Navistar only put a single on these things. They make crazy power. To me they are the nicest body style but that engine is a boat anchor
I appreciate your videos on the 6.4 powerstroke. I bought a 2010 lariat 250 with 59k on it a few months ago and it was based on a few of you guys with level heads and experience with them. I know people absolutely hate them and have yet to find one of those haters in person that actually owned one. thanks for no bs videos.
@@MikeMikeSmith no they do know what to do but 6.4s are like the most difficult truck to work on so they don't bother because half the shit you gotta do to fix them the damn engine needs to be pulled for it to be worked on, that's why I got myself a 02 cummins
xyungx fr mines been running for 12 years now, we bought it used with 40k miles and deleted the egr and tuned it while putting a afe cold air intake on it. Its been running perfect for 10 years now with lucas racing oil👌.
Just had the oil cooler go out on 2008 F350 4x4. Bought the truck a year ago and it only had 82,000 miles on it. My wife worked at a Ford dealership that I got the truck from and was still able to put a 3 year factory warranty on the truck since the miles were so low. Thankfully the oil cooler was covered. The cab had to be removed to replace it. I'm guessing it would have been a 5 grand repair without it.
I bought my 6.4 new in summer of 2007, I have a 2008 F350 SRW 4x4. It’s been great. Only things wrong have been: Twice had to replace radiator due to side tanks leaking because of the frame flexing & twisting from being off road. The exhaust sensor 8C3Z-12B591-E I’ve had to replace 3 times so now I carry a spare cause it throws it into limp mode. Alternator at 100,000 & that’s it. I have 110,000 miles now 14 years later & runs great
@@garysmith5741 so the EGR has to be removed first. When you pull the re-gen system, as soon as you start it, it will throw a code into the computer system. When you turn on your tuner for the first time, it will ask you about both deletes, and will turn off those codes. I took mine into a shop, they did both deletes at the same time, then did a 'tow tune' flash to the on board computer.
how much coolant did it take to refill your coolant after you removed the egr coolers? this video has been my experience with my 350 6.4 almost to the tee. thank you for your videos.
Enjoy your videos, I have F-450 , bought it bout same time as you, had 91000 miles, new to the power stroke family... Had dpf delete with the mini max, I removed egr system, but had exhaust leak in up pipe to turbo... That led to cab in the air , did injector's and found hi pressure pump failing, now have new fuel system, head bolts, glow plugs... Engine runs good and mainly just use it for pulling my Jayco 5th wheel... Love the power and stability of the dual wheels... Keep posting your fix issues so I'll have idea if I have similar... Live east of you in Western Montana... Thanks Jerry...
Own a 08 and had the alternator issue up till now. 260k miles and the low side turbo failed yesterday. Everything is bone stock, full egr and dpf in tact. I recently got the #8 glow plug fault. I'll look at harness while I am replacing the turbo this week. But all and all mine has been very reliable daily driver. Oil and filter changes is the key, now I'll full delete and hopefully run another 260k. Thanks
Ya, no surprise. On that turbo. Think of all that goop on those turbo fins going through that egr. Your turbo is a finely machined part that spins at incredible speed keeping balanced is critical to longevity. Getting all that goop all over the inlet fins is devastating and repeats performance as well it then increases carbon buildup in the cylinders and pistons and then out to the exhaust side of your turbos. A sure catastrophic event is imminent. Everything possible should be done to prevent this from happening. All this boils down to the economy and air quality. Beating any thing that the DPF can do. As reburn and regen is a toxic systems and should be banned. This is a failed solution. You know it they know it
I know it's a bit of an old vid...... But I absolutely love both of my 6.4's. I bought my 2010 white ccsb 9 years ago. I pushed that truck for 3 solid years with all the bolt ons, 30%'s, 59/76's, and some hot mcc tuning on the mini maxx. Stock fuel.(stupid idea) I popped the motor on it myself with pride. She runs good now, lots of blood, sweat, tears and $$$$ later. While the white 6.4 was down I bought a red late 08 build dually. (In my profile pic) it got the same treatment. All the bolt ons, and the 59/76 snails off the white 6.4. But I ran dual k16's and 60's on it right off the bat. Some top end work, and ported rails, plus custom gearhead tunes. But bone Stock bottom end, and stock trans (other than tq converter.) Reached out to about 800whp before I said nope, no more, not pushing it. I run it on mild tuning everywhere, and while towing. I've went 80k miles on this setup (125kish on the truck) and no failures thus far. The trans will be the failure if anything. I'm surprised I haven't killed it yet. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance!!! I cannot stress this enough! Deletes, maintenance, your tuning, and your right foot will usually determine the fate of your 6.4. Do not throw a 300 horse generic tune on and expect it to hold up to street races every other stoplight. Some do. Most don't. With brand new trucks coming out of the gate with over 500hp and 1000ft pounds of tq, reaching out to 800whp doesn't sound like a big deal. But when I took the dually (which looks stock outside of some wheels/tires) out and sent it down the track running 12.20's with it, it was extremely satisfying. Still dialing in the white one, before touting numbers. Overall, 6.4 life has been great to me. That said, I'm excited to send a truck or two down the rd. And pick up a new 7.3 gasser. Y'all take care 🤘
I drive a 2010 F 450. 67000 miles. Blew a turbo boost boot is all. Just did the re-gen delete. Last week, changed the thermostats. .. one was sticking closed. Had a small pinhole leak on to- radiator hose. Haven’t checked yet but I’m thinking I’m getting 4-5 mpg better. Was getting about 11 ....up , down and around the hill. Running a 4” pipe off factory muffler.
Very nice truck man I'm about to start my own I have one on the backyard that a customer left cuz it was too expensive to fix so I'm going to fix it for myself
Great video. I also have the 2008 6.4 and have had only normal wear and tare issues. Alternators. Radiator. Turbo rebuild. After reading forums and freaking out that I kept blowing coolant out the degas bottle and I have mine tuned I was convinced I blew my head gaskets. The ford dealer told me to keep in mind, you’re reading blown head gaskets from all over the world, guys who tune their rigs and sit in parking lots red lining the RPMS and turbos doing donuts over and over and beating the HELL OUT of their trucks then wondering why it’s blown and blaming the 6.4. He said blown head gaskets on the 6.4 is extremely rare. Turned out that after 260,000 PROBLEM FREE miles my turbo needed rebuilding. The pressure leak is what was causing my coolant to blow through degas bottle. NOT BLOWN HG’s, blocked oil cooler. I’ve pulled over-loaded dump trailers that the combined truck trailer and load was 34,500 no problem. That was one time and didn’t realize it was that heavy till I hit the scales. The ford techs will tell anybody if these rigs are PROPERLY MAINTAINED they are fantastic engines, more power than any regular contractors need. They’re correct. Mine is pushing 300,000 and I bought it with 112,000 a few years ago. Driven every day and worked like crazy. I love my King Ranch and have NO PLANS except when the day comes I will be dropping in a Cummins conversion. Truck still looks brand new, leather is top notch. I can’t say enough about the truck and I still get TONS of compliments and yes the truck is untouchable here in Portland, Or. dodges have tried to take me, they can’t, chevys, I eat them up. I’ve raced maybe 7-8 guys in their dodges and chevys at lights and have smoked them all, with ease.
Could you clarify where the pressure in the cooling system was coming from? I have a 6.4 and experiencing the same thing believing it must be head gaskets. If its from the turbo how is it pressurizing the coolant system? Thanks
Take a chill pill. Unless this truck is a professionally modified race truck your asking for huge time out, and $. I know the temptation is hard to resist. However, the performance and reliability to show up on the job site is the win. Not red light to red light.
I have 135k miles on my 6.4 and have a couple of the same problems. I ❤️ the truck and have no plans on replacing it. I did replace the headlights with the new Morimotto LED lamps with DRL and they are incredible.
I have a 2009 f250 lariat with 180000 miles and the only problem I’ve ever had with it, was the torque convert and the rear seal. At that point I decided to upgrade the tranny since,IT, was in good condition, I went with a billet torque converter and deeper pan. Thru on an add a leaf kit and I love my truck.
I’d love an 08-10 F450 but I can’t work on it myself and I’ve seen way more of these with new engines in Craigslist, autotrader etc than I’ve seen with other engines. But damn they’re nice.
