The achievements for fishing are in the Exploration tab at the bottom, you’ll need to fish all the base game zones for Master Angler, the achievements will tell you the zones and fish you need 🙂

Nah, fishing is fine as it is. It's a chill, non-competitve and relaxing. I really wouldn't want it complicated when the rest of the game provides enough of a challenge.

As long as it’s in your inventory it’s on the wheel, just interact with the hole to open it instead of the slottable wheel! If you have craft bag it’s automatically there too
Yes, this is why you should shut off the anglers instinct CP passive and fish alone - Sharp-as-night can stay out because his trophy fish drops offset trash bait drops only, and he speeds up catch time - so using him won’t reduce your filet fish numbers. Hope this clears it up for you! 😊
All the UI is base game but is for a controller input instead of keyboard and mouse. “Accessibility mode” should work to change it too, but I’m on console so I can’t test it to be sure! Hope this helps!
I completed master angler the first time in 2018, it’s a huge improvement from then to now. I, too, remember fishing in Greenshade for weeks for my last foul fish 😂
