So sad you paid to park at a castle that was closed! But the views everywhere were just spectacular! When I saw those arches near the last I thought what a beautiful place for a wedding! John and Tim favor amazingly- certainly see they are brothers. Loved his van, I'm glad he was ok being videoed, enjoyed seeing him. I am so enjoying this visit to Scotland. Visiting home in the off season is good for visiting people, places can be a different situation... But I generally like the less crowded times as well. I had to laugh at the sticker board.🤣

Back from an unexpected trip, catching up. Many Historic Scotland castles are "temporarily" closed for maintenance for the last 2 years. The monument is on our to do as we did not reach it due to weather last time,

Scotland is really working out to be a top spot. I'd love to do a road trip there now. The last time I saw a 'please don't stick stickers on the sign' it was covered in stickers. 😀

It's a fine line to walk isn't it.. Quiet roads but closed attractions. We'd still prefer the quiet roads to be honest. We drove the route in May and it was already tricky passing multiple vans on the narrow roads. 😊🐕🚙

Castles are overrated lol …. As you say out of season has its disadvantages but glad you breached one of them 😂 Also they can be expensive another gripe I have but had you enjoyed the landscape
