I roast my garlic, put in a jar, cover with olive oil, and store in the fridge. It lasts all year and I get garlic infused olive oil to boot. 👍

Do you roast it with the peels on? How long and at what temp? Just enough oil to cover the garlic?

I am familiar with the book Hungry Planet. My son checked the book out from the library a number of years ago. Our family was quite interested in the book and sat around and read it together. A definite eye opener! Tie your garlic in bunches and hang them from the rafters. Recycle your bailing twine to do that with. I have great respect for your farming techniques and how you are building it all. SOW THE LAND HAS IT GOING ON!

It must be a very satisfying feeling to know that the food you grow is sufficient to sustain your family. We grow 36 to 40 bulbs of garlic every year, so your harvest blows me away. Until next time.

Cabbage, carrot, broccoli, onion, bok choy, apple, dried cranberries, pecans, cheese, take your sour dough bread and make croutons. Something light but filling. Sometimes I add chicken to mine. Awesome on trying to raising and growing your own food. Ya'll are doing awesome

While i realize my dairy consumption is higher than most (one of my sons and his wife drink 1/2 gallon of blue milk (nonfat🤮) every 2 weeks i thought they were the weird ones instead of me. I used to limit myself to a gallon per week for just me but was always feeling like i was rationing myself. Because of some health issues and research i made the decision to increase my consumption to what seems more compatible to me i am now consuming 3+ gallons per week plus increased my healthy fats. In the last year and a half i have dropped 4 dress sizes without dieting plus feeling much better. I think if i dropped down that low again i would be an unhappy camper. Thanks for sharing what your family eats in a week.

Hi Lorraine. Two questions: Do you can raw meat plain or in a marinade? Can you do a long video on how all the meat is stored overall (dried, frozen, canned, smoked, etc)? I'm starting animals from next spring (I'm 1st on the list for local Amish farm heritage breed piglets). I'm just realizing I don't have enough storage but also need to make more space for everything. Can't imagine another freezer but that's probably needed.

You really surprised me that you cook your eggs in butter when you have bacon fat. I don't have tallow or lard and hate using oils much so nearly everything is butter or bacon drippings. If bacon flavor helps that decides it. But for baking it really is not helpful so butter or maybe a bit of olive oil. I do keep some olive oil with red chilies on hand for when spicy is wanted though. Found that in a specialty shop once and been making my own since then.
