Thanks for asking, I’m going to pin this comment. I did put up text in the video, but due to the unconfirmed nature of which consoles are expected I didn’t mention. All we know is that there has been a PlayStation Blogpost. I would expect PC and Xbox Series and PS5!
I'm still kinda worried about trials tbh, the whole appeal of outlast is that you don't get to fight the enemies, the terror that comes with knowing that if you aren't fast or hidden enough then you'll die is kinda what makes the game. I really don't know how they're going to replicate the feel of the first two games+dlc when you can fight back this time, like if i wanted to fight crazy enemies who are the results of experiments via an evil corporation, I would just play resident evil. So I'm pretty concerned about how the devs plan to keep the outlast feel and not just make it feel like a resi knockoff with night vision.
For what it’s worth, I have this working theory that the only enemies that can be taken out are the generic psychos and the big ones like Coyle and goose that I mention in the video can only be slowed down. I think that’d be a nice change up. Red barrels has only done Outlast up til now, so my hope is with new game design they’ll have freedom for new ideas. We shall see though. Thanks for commenting!
@@fallinghurts yes the cold war setting is perfect, the devs should take their time to perfect the game, i’m sure we’ll get an amazing game anyways, in the mean time keep up the good work! you got yourself a new subscriber
Now that I think about it, I kinda like how there’s an eye there whenever the player gets chased. Closed eye for when the player is being hunted, open eye when they’re being chases & no eye when there’s no enemy hunting the player. It’s such a cool & interesting idea that I think will work quite well and be a good change. I also love your idea of the hand & skull on the HUD being how many times you can revive. I never even thought about a revival system until you brought that up.
I wish we knew how big the game was or we’d be able to compare, but unfortunately we just don’t right now. Hopefully here soon we’ll know more, but I worry the switch may get left behind
As I’ve said to others, I’ll remain cautiously optimistic. Red Barrels hasn’t let me down yet, but my main worry actually comes in at the sake of the story. We will see though, thanks for the comment!
I'm not so worried about the combat as I am about the online multiplayer thing. Like what if it flops and we just have another B4B thing where it kinda sorta just.. dies. Horror games need story plain and simple and online multiplayer always kills story.
Based on the newest trailer im inclined to believe that the players will most likely be political prisoners. It seems that the trails were made to completely reprogram a person's identity, which is why there is a heavy emphasis on rebirth and childhood (shown with the child's TV show host and the child mannequins)
i really hope it comes out soon. it gives off dead by daylight vibes/VHS vibes in which i personally love dbd but it has lost its love. dbd has no real competition, a co-op escape game against a killer with an outlast setting could be the perfect rival. and im all for this game.
Interesting take on it. I believe this was the video I mentioned the idea of the final (or one of the) levels being one where one of the friends go bad and hunts the others. Thanks for watching!
The actual gameplay trailer, I’d say yes! Or at least fairly close. However, in my video there was some early HUD breakdowns and I don’t believe that that clip is representative of the final game. Thanks for stopping by!
I think people need to stop expecting the exact same from Outlast 1 and 2 for this game. This is something completely different. The argument “Outlast 1 and 2 had no combat so this is worrisome” is silly.
