I'm 🇨🇦 First full interview I watched with him. I think he should be embarrassed. There was no need to talk down to her. He didnt interview if you ask me he treated her like she was a hostile witness. 💯🇨🇦
I do understand why people want his rapist identified. Predators don't stop. I understand not wanting to open old wounds however, there could have been other victims.
She’s exactly how he wrote her ahah the story was probably exaggerated, I never took it as absolute truth, it’s made for entertainment and storytelling but I bet it wasn’t far off
@@sinthechestnutit never says “based On” or “inspired by” both the show and Netflix executives confirm “this is a true story” interesting to see if a case of defamation comes from it, she’s no doubt not all there in real life but if they’ve dramatised convictions and evidence then could be a sticky one for them. Baffled me there wasn’t more probing on the sexual assaults
She says she didn’t watch the series but knows all the details and timeline of the story in the show, down to the actress’s physical appearance and hometown (despite also claiming she doesn’t know the actress either). She keeps slipping up and contracting herself throughout the entire interview. Piers cornered her a few times towards the end. How do people even question the whole story is beyond me. Some details might be exaggerated to make the show more entertaining but I don’t believe her attempts to downplay the situation one bit. The fact that a stalker can get a platform to speak up and try to spin the story in their favor is insane.
Do you really believe she tracked down the script ( how does one do that?) instead of watching it? What is on RU-vid does not give you a full picture at all. I don't have Netflix. I've never seen it but I am intrigued. She knows alot more about the details and intricate storyline than me!! I'd love to see it.
I don't feel sorry for her at all. She's a sociopath. She knows right from wrong. She put him and others through hell. She was a convicted stalker before this. Obviously, the system failed her. She needed help, and they didn't give it to her. Being convicted before, she knew what she was doing was wrong. This is just my opinion. I'm not forcing my opinion on anyone else.
Richard Gaad said in an interview that he had gone to “great lengths” to disguise the real Martha from the character, so that she would find it hard to identify herself. That’s an absolute lie. The character and the real person are like twins
I think Richard said they went to get lengths to hide the identities was to throw everyone off like if people looked, they would be looking at the opposite version of the character in the show and it backfired. I don’t think he expected this to get as big as it has so things weren’t thought through. My thing is, this Fiona woman has come out herself and admitted it’s her while also saying it’s not her but it’s her? Lol she’s brought this on herself and quite frankly, I think she loves the attention she’s getting. What she should have done if she felt she’s been defamed was instruct her lawyers to contact Netflix and negotiate behind the scenes about what could be done to help her moving forward. I hope she’s gets the help she clearly needs and I hope Richard is ok having to justify his truth.

That may all be true. But Netflixs mistake is they showed her getting arrested and being sentenced to jail for 9 months. If that's true then she won't sue. If she didn't go to prison and was never arrested than she can sue and win, no matter how many emails were sent.
@@michael-4k4000except no, because they never mentioned Martha was Fiona, she did that herself, it could be argued that Martha being arrested and in jail, was a way to protect Fiona’s identity as it was a way to exaggerate the story
It wasn’t all we’ve learnt since. We’ve learnt that she stalked Kier Starmer too. That she was indeed sacked from a law firm after just a few days for inappropriate behaviour. That the owner was so worried about her staff’s safety, she issued them attack alarms. We also learnt that she lies as she breathes, contradicting herself time and again, and that she loves attention. We know the voice messages must be true because Jessica’s portrayal of Fiona was so spot on it was uncanny - the way she speaks and breathes and writes, all as he portrayed them. We learnt, I think, that Fiona is dangerous and unwell and needs professional help. She is a stalker. And she is making herself famous off this quite deliberately, using her fame to further harass her victim. Scary stuff. Imho
On interview she says she has photographic memory but she can’t remember her grades she also mentioned she’s not got an old smart phone but later on she says she has 4 phones and 6 email addresses she uses I do think some parts of the story might have been exaggerated but think she’s tripped herself up on interview
But also she has no criminal record. She was literally depicted as a convicted criminal but she’s never been charged let alone served time. So I hope she gets paid well.

There is no public evidence that she did not serve time or that she did currently so you like many people are just making assumptions and speculations.
@@user-uu1ru5de4g no the only part about this entire situation that is defamatory is saying she is a convict. Everything else stated does not constitute any breaking of any law. Pierce had a lawyer on the following day who explained that the jail sentence is the only part of this that would lead towards defamation.
It's Gadd's life, his story, why the hell does he or Netflix owe anyone protection or privacy ? If he's libeling or defaming maybe, but if it's all true, then it's not his job to hide them, he is allowed to tell his story. This kind of talk is yet another reason why abuse victims suffer in silence and never come forward. To hell with keeping Fiona private, especiallly since she stuck her nose into all of this. I cannot wait to see forensic people tear her and her lies apart.And we should know the name of this producer, because as an actor I'd like to know who the hell I don't want to work with.

I experienced a similar situation and based on what I can tell that woman is a covert narcissist. When Pierce asked a question she called him obsessive. That is an example of DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim Order). She denies they really know each other that well, yet he knows information she trauma dumped about her childhood 🚩 He's according to her homosexual yet also he came on to her and she rejected him🚩 He needs to "get a real job" yet has done massively "financially well off the show" 🚩 She quit Facebook days before the interview, where she could likely be asked to show her messages. Also has more than 2 phones. 🚩 Grandiose self image in terms of discussing all these important lawyer friends/political career 🚩 Anyone who from her past who has a negative view of her actions and felt victimised by her are the victimisers of her 🚩
She isn’t covert at all. She’s constantly bragging about grandiose things, most of which never happened. She’s a grandiose narcissist with BPD who is very clearly on the spectrum. Very fractured underdeveloped psyche

What do you think should be important here? The woman is a stalker. For a victim of stalking, there is no small or big crime... it is devastating. IF she wants her tweets to be private she, or anyone else, should NOT speak or write on a public forum. (and then complain when everyone listens or identifies them).
I think a few things should have brought up in the interview, for example she said she didn't even know where he lived but later on she says she sent him 1 letter, for which she would need his address. Also why hasn't anyone looked up if her arrest warrants were real? She said she had never been convicted for anything, in the show it says she already did 4.5 years for a previous charge and then did another 9 months later. But that should have been easy to fact check for Pierce🤷🏼♀️.
She certainly displays as a Sociopath and WILL USE ANY slight change or inaccuracy in the story to claim she's being 'victimised' rather than admit all the factual stuff.
He chose not to reveal her identity, but it is hardly a crime for him to reveal the identity of his stalker. Where the fuck is the media's duty of care towards the vicim, why care so much about the perpetrator's feelings. He has the right to have named her if he wanted to. At least if something happens, people know where to look for him, in Fiona's basement if she has one...

Psychiatric hospital not much use with personality disorders I'm afraid, there isn't any medication for it as it is a developmental disorder in nature. If she has as I suspect NPD then the only treatment is long term talk therapy and the outcomes for that are low (I think like less than 1 in 5). . The outcomes are even lower if she has ASPD (psychopathy/sociopathy). Best thing would be court appointed therapist visits and a general shunning by society to kick her ego into gear. Foley has absolutely no chance of legal action against Netflix. If people accused him of being a rapist because he looks like the actor in the show and is friends with gadd. How could Netflix have done anything about foley?
You can blame whomever you want for not holding their identities back but at the end of the day people were going to find out with such a powerful story. I think it's funny people like the podcasters trying to say hey, it's ok for a predator to be out there cause we just don't want hurt their feelings. I mean the interview with Piers, wholly crap she's delusional. I mean right out the gate she said she hasn't watched it but we all know that isn't true. The interview didn't help her in anyway at all. Stop trying to blame Netflix. Gadd, or the internet when the real issue is she did what she did, the producer did what he did, and they are the predators to blame for their behavior.
By going public, she took a minor cult hit and turned it into the biggest sensation on Netflix. She's done herself infinitely more damage than the show could have ever done on its own.

Just finished the series whichI watched on Critical Drinker's recommendation. Wow. I think the creator and Netflix treated the perpetrators' identities in a responsible manner. My only beef with Netflix was their sanctioning of a sub-Saharan casting choice for Cleopatra in what was supposed to be a documentary. That's what's brought them the most heat.

Everyone talks about be careful what you put on the internet. If it really is that easy to get this info why has no one screenshotted any of these liked pics on his FB page or any of the tweets or emails. I understand the voicemails and text messages you aren't going to get without being in law enforcement but all the rest should be fairly easy to aquire online if they exist.

Everything being said about the real life “Darien” character is the EXACT same shit that was said about Harvey Weinstein. Those in the industry probably do know who he is and with the success of Baby Reindeer others will come forward and it will eventually he will be outed. It’s sad that it will likely take several years but unlike Weinstein this man was assaulting men and it still holds a greater stigma than female victims (which STILL has more than it should). Frankly, I think that Fiona would have outed herself at some point either by just coming out and saying it or by creating a fake profile who “figured it out.” Stalkers are (practically by definition) delusional so I would bet she is soaking up the attention like a sponge whether or not she is even aware of it. Plus, it keeps her name linked to his (and his life) for eternity. I’m sorry for her as far as the fact that she is clearly suffering mental health issues and it is exhausting and painful. I personally have mental health issues that have taken over my life but I am grateful every day that delusions are not among them.

There is one question I have about the whole show. When she came into the pub that first day, why was she crying? That's a suspensive point that was never answered. In the back of your mind, either directly or not, that point stays with the viewer during the whole show. Where did that anguish go? Was this a situation where one nail was driven out by another nail? I think that this hidden suspense is what made the show so successful.

Most interesting is somehow an unattractive, middle aged woman is easier to cast as a villian than a man who drugged and raped someone. They emphasize true was a clear midtake to make a story better they often chsnge the end and any parts to make story more exciting and concise. A basic true story can be 〽️ fiction. The fact that the emails on the show were quoted word for word proves that Netflix didn’t do enough to protect her. I’m not defending her, but they definitely made it very easy for people to figure out her real identity.

re the acting, I asked myself the same question. Why put himself in a situation to 'relive it'? I mean, he wrote it. Then he acted it out in plays and finally, in a TV series. That, to me, is a red flag.
