What? This version alters so many parts of the book. It's not even close to "pretty accurate". The mini series was way better. It actually built suspense and felt cohesive. The movie just took a Stephen King concept and made a jump scare movie.

In the Chapter 2 trailer, there are many clues that she is Pennywise (until she obviously attacks Bev naked of course): when she opens the door and answers, that first sentence is Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård)'s voice. Then she jerks away in unnatural fashion. Then when she is speaking, you can see flesh rotting under her shirt (where Pennywise got stabbed with a fence pole in the first film, but it's not an actual scar, he's just doing it to hint at Bev so that she gets scared), and then all the clown things. And you know, she's naked. But when she says "No one who dies here ever really dies" and stares at Bev, smiling, for 10 seconds, well when there is a close up of her face, her left eye is staring at the camera.

Eric Martinez it could had still killed them after scaring them in some of the scenes. Hell, Georgie barely gets scared in the first scene, he just wanted some popcorn and the boat, while the other kids were more scared with some of the stuff that happened. Your point is right but i don’t think the movie is consistent. Or the plot, haven’t really read the book.

AnonEyeMouse I haven’t really read the books so I don’t know it’s lore. In theory it sounds good but in practicality, not so much. Also a lot of points in the movie still would not make sense, especially the 1 month of nothing. Was their fear building up then? Why go collect someone that is not as scared when you can get someone else more scared and better meal? I still don’t think the theory works too well.

Huge pointy teeth" or "BOO! JUMPSCARE BEEEYOTCH!" Instead they went with the basic "Jesus Christ that's horrifying" effect of clowns and told Tim Curry to just be Tim fucking Curry. In the 2017 movie, this is hinted at mainly by two scenes. The scene when Henry Bowers is carving his name into Ben, and the scene when Mike talks about his parents deaths in the town square. In the first scene, a car drives past Henry as he's going to cut Ben. The people in the car look over, then continue driving as though nothing happened. This isn't because they are peices of shit. As they drive away a red balloon can be seen in their car. This is to represent the effect IT has on adults. One of IT's abilities is to make people oblivious to bad things going on around them. This is why nobody questions the high number of people that have gone missing in Derry, and why each person that goes missing is forgotten as soon as the next one goes missing. The second scene is later in the movie when the Losers Club is talking about what IT showed them and their fears. Mike says this line: "My grandfather thinks this town is cursed. He says that all the bad things that happened in this town are because of one thing. An evil thing that feeds off the people of Derry." This line is an allusion to the idea that IT is an evil being tied to our universe at the physical location of Derry, Maine. This idea comes from the book, where it talks more about IT's origins. IT is an interdimensional being that landed on earth in the location that would one day become Derry. He lives partially in our universe and partially in his own Macroverse that exists ouside/envelops our universe. The part of IT that lives in this Macroverse is his deadlights. Anyways, because IT is physically tethered to our universe by Derry, he's able to affect the whole town in various ways. One of these ways is making adults oblivious to his presence/ the presence of evil in general in Derry.

I thought it was fairly obvious that Pennywise isn't a shapeshifter but something that can make you see whatever It wants. Hint: Look in the dark behind the clown at the end of the movie after they beat him right before his face dissolves.
