This is my 1987 Mercedes 300D. I have yet to fully go over all the issues I currently have with the car, se here we go!

Great video. I’ve been following your journey with this car. Speaking from experience, that rust in the rocker panels around the jack points is bad! My 280C looked minor and when we got into it the rockers were full of rust. Had to cut off the first 24-36” on both sides and weld on new panel sections. Do it soon so it doesn’t spread! It is structural because this car is unibody construction with suspension subframes. The good part is, it’s black, so you can have it repaired and then just paint the lower black section. You can always get another fender, that’s bolt on. But do those rocker panels soon!!!’

Thanks for dropping by Dave. Is there a place I can order pre-cut rocker panels?? Thank you for the heads up. The reason I thought it wasn’t a big deal is because the jacking spot are rock solid.

This issue with the way it runs and the abs light issue is you need to replace the overprotection relay behind the pannel behind the batter. it also effects the rmp meter

I already re-pinned the relay. ABS still has the issue

2:50 - To turn the fog lamps on you have to turn the light switch two clicks to the right (headlights on) and then pull the switch out to the first notch for front fog lamps and once again for rear fog lamps. 2:58 - That's the sound fader, scroll to the front for the sound to come out of the front speakers, to the back it's the same, and keep it in the middle for a balanced sound between all speakers. 4:40 - I replaced the seal on the oil cap on my 300D and it still leaks a bit of oil from there, so I guess that's normal (and yes, it is difficult to remove).

Super nice car! 🙂 I also have a 1987 300D and I'm working through it. Playlist link: ru-vid.com/group/PLc713pFuJyE3CQ153KxS47XtR99ffYIY5 If you have junkyards nearby, you can get a lot of the parts needed for the cosmetic fixes. Or keep an eye out for a parts car - I bought a 1992 300E with matching interior to mine and swapped out a ton. The rust by far seems to be the worst issue IMO - definitely want to get that sorted ASAP.

When you see signs like that....you know the owner did not care. If you have no clue... run away, if you know what is going on, buy it cheap and fix it. For the fog lights, clearly you have no clue...... just pull it towards you and it will work, and yes even though the electric seats do not function.... yes we can remove it and fix it. Clearly you make a video about a car that you have no clue whatsoever and it shows the difference about someone that knows about classic Mercedes Benz

I smoked in my cars and never had one burn people are pigs lol. My cars also don't smell like smoke even though i smoke inside because i care and clean.
