It may be the best of the "Liam Neeson kicking ass" movies, but it still has a few sins--and no, one of them isn't about poor flight inspection prior to takeoff.
Next week: 2 sins videos you've been asking about for months
Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins should we recount next? Merch: teespring.com/...

the wolves saw Liam Neeson go full Liam Neeson on their pack leader and just became his sled dogs, so he could get back to Los Angeles and retire..thus setting up Taken. Duh.

Actually "dont move" is a good tactic to avoid getting killed by wolves. Running activates their chase and kill instinct.

An even better tactic is to be a bear. Or lots of bears, in case there are lots of wolves. Or you could move to outer space, where there aren't many wolves at all.
@Deathmam

An even better tactic is to pull your pants down, turn around, bend over and let the wolves fuck you in the ass. Yes it's not what we all would want...but I'd rather have the wolf inside of me instead of me inside of it..... catch my drift...

Or just grab a weapon and charge at the wolves with the intent of killing them... that outta get them to shit themselves or at least think twice. PS my dad did that to a Bear, seems hard to believe but you would be surprised, a 6”4 built man charging with an axe really does get anyone or anything to think twice

In my mind, Diaz took the wolves' eggs and hid them in Liam Neeson's backpack. That's why the wolves were hunting them.

At the beginning of the movie Neeson kills a wolf and stays with it as it passes on. At the end of the movie the wolf kills Neeson and stays with him as he passes on. More likely they killed each other and both died together then the other wolves ran away to go collect some wallets.

Jesus Christ all these people talking about how the wolves are sooooo inaccurate. This is a movie. The director intended the wolves to be metaphors for trouble in life, and the Alpha as Death itself, if you base the movie around Ottway. This actually makes sense. I've also heard theories that either the whole movie or everything after the plane crash is Ottway dead and in purgatory or dying in hospital and this is what he sees before he dies (there's loads of scenes where he is in a hospital bed with his wife and she's saying Don't be afraid). And that the main guys he goes with are parts of his personality dying off as he himself dies in bed. The family man (one that drowns), the tough guy (black guy), the believer (glasses guy), the non believer (diaz). They all die leaving Ottway, the last remaining part of his mind alone, and he submits himself to God and to death at the end. His brain gives up and accepts his fate. He also forms the wallets into a cross as he kneels down. The Grey is the colour between black and white. Life and death. Heaven and Hell. He's in purgatory and this is his test. It seems a bit elaborate but I like to see the movie this way, and it makes sense. It's a really interpretative movie

I've worked and lived in the frozen hell of rural Canada and, while this film is enjoyable, the wolf behavior is 100% wrong - and I mean wrong enough to shag the whole viewing experience. The filmmakers got absolutely nothing right about wolf behavior. Wolves don't do a one-on-five attack, they sure as hell stay away from fire, and they DO NOT attack a man when there's a nice unguarded venison on the ground. It's unfortunate that the general public is given this fairy-tale image of wild wolf behavior.

Dustin Johnson the wolves are a metaphor for life problems and as each one comes you have to deal with it,the last and biggest wolf is death and letting everything go and liams character shows that he isnt afraid anymore by fighting it. Another metaphor is that liam is dead and so are the rest of the people with him and he is in purgatory(the state after death,basically judgement day) where he passes a trial where he fights his sins while the rest of the crew slowly loses its fight and doesnt pass the trial.

Like most people who saw The Grey in theaters, I went in under the impression it would be more of an action-oriented film. Was pleasantly surprised to find a thought-provoking film with themes of existentialism, grief, and questions of faith. To me, the best movies are those that infect your mind and won't leave you after it's over. I couldn't stop thinking about The Grey for like a week after.

I watched this movie 2 weeks ago and it's been stuck on my mind still, this movie can certainly change your life and your way of thinking depending on if you can read between the lines to get the message.... Most people will see this movie about a man fighting wolves but in reality it's much much more deeper then that everyone knows that wolves don't behave this way but it was just the classified predator animal chosen to deliver the message. The poem itself is life changing.

Wolves are carnivores, opportunist hunters, highly intelligent, hunt in packs and live in harsh environments with scarce food sources in the winter. Not to say that the movie is accurate but it is a MOVIE and the movie conveyed a stronger theme that just killer wolves. Struggling with demons, facing your fear, loss, compassion, forgiveness. To me the movie was amazing. The reviewer feels that the death in the plane was drawn out, I feel it was the most honest death scene ever on film. The so call wind fading out is just an the audible rack focus that happens when you are focusing on something important.... living in the moment similar to how a loud, busy restaurant seems to fades away when you are there with the love of your life.

To everyone screaming about the injustice to wolves in this movie: it's a *movie.* We have so much more knowledge on wolves to know 100% that they do not act like this unless they're rabid or something. Whereas opposed to Jaws - which came out in a time when we didn't know shit about sharks - yeah, that movie terrified a lot of people.
@TheTrueWolfboy
@TheTrueWolfboy 10 лет назад
If you think that we know more about wolves than in this movie, you obviously don't live in the southern U.S.
@SorrowNova
@SorrowNova 10 лет назад
I really wouldn't expect southern U.S. to be the primary source of all wolf knowledge, to be honest. Maybe during the ice age wolves were around the southern U.S. area, but not now. I was speaking in general. *The human race* knows generally more about wolves than what's depicted in this movie. That's why we have an entire wolf section in wildlife biology.
@TheTrueWolfboy
@TheTrueWolfboy 10 лет назад
Lou Mo ...an entire wolf section in a class and you don't know that wolves were driven out of the U.S. by settlers? Then again, that line of thought on my half is probably just the assumption that you live in the U.S at all. WAIT, AN ENTIRE WOLF SECTION? Where do you live? I want to go to that school. xD Either way, down here everyone simply assumes wolves are exactly as depicted in this movie. Hell, in the north they think that way as well (I lived in the north for most of my life but recently moved down south). I know for a fact that the average Brit has a similar view.
@TheTrueWolfboy
@TheTrueWolfboy 10 лет назад
Lou Mo Incorrect. Gray Wolves were spread from the northern tip of Canada to most of the United States. Settlers drove them almost completely out of the United States (EDIT: from the US and into Canada) and the species became nearly extinct until they were reintroduced in Yellowstone and a few other places. Gray Wolves are one of the most adaptable species on the planet, to the point were several "species" of canine are actually just Gray Wolves living in different areas. I feel kind of stupid for not realizing you meant the profession. xD As a whole, as a species, throughout the entire world, we know _extremely little_. What the majority "knows" is what a species-wide calculation would find. The majority are morons who do not know anything about the actual nature of animals. (ESPECIALLY wolves, due to the demonization of them by Europeans in the medieval era. You would be hard-pressed to find an animal even remotely as ignorantly hated as the wolf, other than perhaps sharks and various "bugs". At the same time, wolves also have a very large... shall we say fan-base? DUE to that prejudice against them.)
@thimble288
@thimble288 10 лет назад
If this movie were any good I'd agree. Since it's a heap of shit, I resent the fact that it's filling idiots' heads with the idea that wolves are in some way a threat to humans. If it were good we could say "eh, it's entertaining, and who knows they could be some lost species of super velociraptor wolves."

TheTrueWolfboy in my opinion this movie didn't treat wolves that horribly really. They portrayed them somewhat inaccurately but you can also tell the film is in a way demanding you respect them and nature. If you bother to watch the movie closely you can tell that the wolves and humans both do some pretty awful things to each other. It's not a film about the wolves, and it's not like anyone's going to watch this movie and go like "yeah I'm going to go kill some wolves now because of this movie", that's just dumb.

Good points made here. I grew up in Alaska and did an extensive report on arctic wolves in high school. I watched 20 minutes of this movie and turned it off in disgust at the bullshit screenplay. They do not employ "snipers" for wolves on the North slope. One more thing, If this had happened in Alaska, the Alaska Air National Guard would have been in the air searching for the plane in less than 12 hours after the crash.

just cause u get out of a freezing cold river or lake doesnt mean u will die. Ive done it loads of times. It was part of my Brit army survival training. -40c temps we had to break through the ice strip off and jump in the water and stay there for 15 mins before getting out. we did that everytime we went to Norway or the arctic and antarctic which we did every winter. higher risk of dying by jumping in a pool of water in a desert during the summer. as it increaeses ur chances of sunstroke and ur body dehydrating faster. Had to do that as well. US seals and delta force were whimps compared to what my unit were trained for. several tried and failled most didnt last 5 mins.

The guy stopping the 3 falling people is actually very possible, it functions like a snow anchor used in mountain climbing. Why are people in the comments complaining about CinemaSins making sins up about things that aren't movie mistakes? It's literally always been like this, and you just started complaining? Regardless, it's not just movie mistakes, but it's also 'movie logic', in the sense that something that happens in a movie wouldn't happen in real life. I'm surprised people just started getting their panties in a knot, considering it really isn't any different from the previous videos.

@elasdickband027
@elasdickband027 10 лет назад
The wolves will work together to bring down prey, but wolves are smart enough to recognise that people are not prey, especially not within their own den. Obviously my statement doesn't hold true for when they're hunting, they work as a pack. But when they're facing off an invader in their territory, the alpha fights alone.
@seamusmcg23
@seamusmcg23 10 лет назад
Where do you get this from? There's no biological reason the Alpha wolf would fight one on one with a human. They would if another wolf challenged them in any way, but a human stumbling into there den? They are instinctive and intellectual to the point of standing down another alpha wolf, but NOT going one on one with a human.
@elasdickband027
@elasdickband027 10 лет назад
James Hicks If you intrude in a wolves den, they defend their territory. If it's a lone intruder, the alpha does the fighting. Even if it's a human. Any non-prey animal in their den would be confronted by the alpha. One on one territorial disputes are settled by the alpha. We can see from domestic dogs that canines treat humans as predators, and wolves exhibit the same traits. There are recordings of people who have become the alpha's of wolf/dog packs before. This is because they become the new alpha. This proves that wolves treat humans with the same respect as another wolf.
