I can call myself anything I want and it wouldn't make it forcibly true... Maybe had insecurities or low self-esteem? I mean, we see him kick ass so he's definitely insecure in his abilities if he tells Eddie he's a loser.😄
eddie was still alive after venom exited his body because he was such a good match... the reason the test subjects and other hosts died was because they weren't a good enough match for the symbiotes and therefore their bodies could not handle the presence of the symbiotes, causing them to die.
@@JimmyPizzaDelivery UUuuum did you watch the movie? Those scenes where the test subjects/lab rats die and the symbiote leaves their bodies? Remember those? If you're talking about the comics...well...that's a whole other ball game isn't it?
I also disliked the movie, but I do not understand those peole always saying ''na na na, in the comics it's like this or like that''. This is not the comic, this is the movie. Another thing really annoying is that ''I'm not up for debate'' like you were right or you knew everything. Because ''Oh god, I read the comics''. You used a irrelevant argument and acted like you were all right.
The fact Anne's new boyfriend is helping her ex is probably breaking the stereotypes of "New boyfriend usually always being a douche to ex boyfriend cliche"
B. Tisdale Effort that was already there. There was notoriously an entire 40 mins cut from the final version that Tom Hardy even expressed were his favorite scenes.
I don't understand the Sin of *"it happens to him because he is the main character"* The truth is that *"he is the main character because that stuff happened to him"*
Agreed but in the context of this movie that Sin just doesn't fly, most of the things that happen to Brock are because of Venom so it's cause and effect.
@@buzzthebuzzard5267 I wish. But stuff like "his girlfriend just happens to have _everything_ he needs to know about the bad guys on her laptop" or "the one homeless persone he knows just happens to ends up in the bad guys' lab" are _not_ because of Venom but, at the same time, _are_ angular to the plot: without that stuff the movie doesn't happen.
@@999SickBoy666 i think that only ''the one homeless person he knows just happens to end up in the bad guys lab'' is invalid. like buzz said, the reason he is he main character IS because the girlfriend had all that info. someone should have it, and they normally would be in a relashionship, so his/her girl/boyfriend could manage to get that info.
Idk. After the sequel, I think Venom being hilarious is arguably a weak point. The sequel was such a buddy comedy it was frustrating. Although for reasons I can't explain, I hated the car ramrod-esque "Lethal Protectors" reference when it first rolled around, yet freakin LOVED it for some reason when it came back later.
Cinema sins needs to make a several part episode with Cinema wins and have a back forth with him on the same movie, like simultaneously sinning and winning things, I think it would be awesome
This movie didn't necessarily need to be good... it was fun, and enjoyable; at least this plot made sense, unlike Captain Marvel which had stupid subplots, and the actress was boring as shit to watch.
Who even says it's really English? The voice in your head isn't always a recognizable language. Sometimes it's just pictures or ideas, sometimes I think about shit and can't remember if it was in English or German. Shit just mingles into one in your head. Only when it comes to conveying those thoughts, you start to use a specific language. Or at least that's how I'd see it.
I was going to mention this, and then mention how they missed a sin for Venom not knowing that girl's name (I forgot, haha) in one scene. Venom knows his memories, but doesn't know one of the biggest parts of his life?
My favorite part of this whole film (aside from our lovely Venom ofc) is that Eddie, bless him, looks about two seconds away from passing out at ALL times! Like man's looks like he's sick and dying, insanely hungover, high off his ass or a mix of all three and I'm living for it! Someone get this man a bed, he needs a nap! Bravo to Tom Hardy!
Venom speaks in English and can be see in reflections because from my understanding he’s basically hijacking Eddies brain Edit: Venom is not evenly matched with Riot, and Eddie saying “that is the ugliest thing I have ever seen” when he first sees riot definitely deserved to loose a sin
Yeah, but he wanted to shit on Marvel, regardless if it made sense... you know that Venom outright loses to Riot despite "being evenly matched." That's not to mention that Venom would have fled from Riot had it not been for Eddie's perseverance, and Venom's growing desire to have Eddie be his friend.
@@MeCooper not really, venom hijacked a dog for like 5 seconds just to get to Eddie's ex, and all you see is the cloudiness in its eyes indicating that venom was there
I accidentally hit this when in the middle of the Smallfoot sins video and didn’t realize, so you can imagine my confusion when I suddenly hear swearing astronauts and references to Deadpool
You would be very surprised to learn that yes, law firms, massive law firms, send confidential documents over email. Technically speaking, sending a mail from one trusted server to another is really not that 'vulnerable' of a process. Our military and government do it all the time, why is it so hard to believe that major corporations do it as well?
Hey, it's true, and it's also guaranteed to cause a minor to major crisis once per year for a global firm of any size, whether or not anyone outside the firm or even most people inside of it ever know. There aren't enough sins on the counter for it. (Source: trying to prevent that shit is my job)
@@BSM-vw6cf I said CGI not Venom. Yes this Venom is much more faithful to comics. But the CGI of the symbiote in motion is grotesque compared to that of Spiderman 3. And I find Tom Hardy's acting sometimes very uncomfortable. No seriously, I'm a BIG FAN of Venom but this movie is average in my opinion. I really hope that Venom 2 will come back. But when I learn that the movie will be ranked Pegi 13 despite the presence of Carnage, it already annoys me.
@@neohybride2597 ikr but I've been waiting for carnage on the big screen since spiderman 3 so I'll take what I can get, who knows maybe they'll change it to R.
Did I drop everything I was doing to watch this? Yes. I loved this movie and I'm ready to laugh at all the cliches and stupid bits you point out because I understand that I can enjoy these videos without getting butthurt at someone insulting it because opinions others have don't have to match mine
My hatred of the movie is less because of cliches and more because of how they were used and because someone making this thought it was a good idea to make Venom a loser.
So, when he mentions the symbiote NOT killing Eddie when he leaves him, that’s because the other symbiotes eat the hosts’ organs (Venom refers to them as ‘snacks’ implying he’s eaten them before) Venom didn’t do that to Eddie,
You sinned almost everything, but you didnt sin Venom changing his mind out of nowhere?? The last thing eddy said to him was " Look at you now huh, now you're dying too " and Venom just forgot that??
Can we even safely assume that Venom has any thought process when he is without a host? I'm pretty sure during that time his actions are based on survival instincts not Venom's intellect therefore how do we know he has any awareness in that state?
Where in the world was the character development of Venom of him gradually realizing he likes earth and Eddie!? I want my properly paced character arches, dammit!
@@kdandsheela Both Eddie and Venom are losers in their world's. Venom can be a god on Earth so why not stay and rule it like a king and Eddie can not be a loser. It's a bit of a stretch that venom doesn't just find some body that also wants to take over and rule like he does. But at the same time why not stay with Eddie till you find someone that you like better.
The one and only reason I watched this was because I was hoping you guys had picked up on one particular line that should at least have tallied a double sin, maybe even 5 or 10. At one point, Anne says something like "So high frequency noise is like Venom's *kryptonite* ..." You can't do that! You can't just casually drop a line that references the most famous hero from an opposing superhero universe! (Not unless you're Deadpool, anyway.) Still really fun to watch the video and see all the other stuff you sinned them for, don't get me wrong, but I feel this was a rather big oversight on your part. I actually had to pause the movie to recover from that line.
Tom Hardy said 45 minutes were cut from the movie and it shows. It only ended up being 90 minutes! The movie could have had some funny dark humor, cool action scenes, and an endearing anti-hero protagonist, but it was just... ehh.
For me, the movie was ok, nothing special, so making is more violent wouldn't have done much more than make me impressed that they went all the way. But I do think that it may have been more successful if it was more violent.
You dont know if the venom who was inside of the malaysian couldnt speak malay, she didnt even say a word. and venom most likely knows english because venom has access to eddie's brain, and im sure eddie knows english. Venom says that he knows everything that eddie knows, when he became eddie's strange gloop arm. the Venom accent was on purpose, because he knows english perfectly in eddie's head. like when you think of something, normally, you dont have an accent. Venom learned english inside of eddie's mind. But Venom's physical body has a strange shaped tounge, making his accent. Also-Also, eddie didnt die when the symbiote left him because he was compatible with venom. the others died before their symbiote even left their body. Also-Also-Also, the scene where eddie sees venom in the mirror is because venom can control eddies mind. If you guys have seen anymore bad sins in this cinema sins video, feel free to reply. Ill try and edit in all the ones that i find. Edit: Thanks for the 300 likes fellas
You think maybe that's why Anne broke up with Eddie, and why Venom sides with Anne against Eddie after he attaches to her? Because Eddie hadn't realized he'd only put himself first, and gave no thought to Anne until it was convenient?
The reason venom can speak English is because it learned it from 6 months of testing And the guy who called the swat at Eddie's old work was the security officer
I'm surprised you didn't give it 100 sins for how it took them half the movie to actually show us Venom. Like the first half was practically a Fast and Furious movie...
You mean like how the first half of the Fast & Furious franchise wasn't a spy thriller knock-off obsessed about family that was created just for the sake of plot?
No sin for lady venom making an appearance for no reason and explicitly breaking one of the rules already set for the plot? Or how shitty the pacing was for the relationship between Eddie and his ex throughout the whole movie?
@@alexlinteris1024 No its nitpicking they use satire as a cover. Also how am I supposed to know if I enjoy a video before I watch it. Based on your assumption that I did watch it anyway. That's like the oldest dumbest comeback on RU-vid

Compatibility comes from the side of the symbiote, since the symbiote was just using Anne to get back to his preferred host there's no reason for Venom to reject her.
God, so many things were so bad about this movie but I loved it so much. Even the terrible pacing was hilarious! Eddie has Venom for less than eight hours and suddenly Venom is "always" talking to him??? You've known this alien thing Less than A DAY, bro!
The main thing that pissed me off about the pacing of the movie is Venom reveals to Eddie about the symbiotes plan (which he agrees with) looks at San Francisco from up high kills some swat members then changes his mind like wtf
@M I S T E R G R A Y Venom doesn't need Spidey, they are their own character with their own comic book. The whole Spider-Man vs Venom conflict has been to death even though Venom has been a anti-hero longer than villain.
M I S T E R G R A Y it’s in the mcu, the teaser for venom 2 is a marvel super villain. I’m not sure what you’re talking about just because Spider-Man isn’t in the movie doesn’t mean it’s not set in the mcu
Yeah, objectively, this movie isn't the best,, but like, I still can't help but love it. I just love the dynamic Eddie and Venom have together, it's really interesting
Interesting how? Venom goes from "I don't fucking care about you or your world" to "Heh... I like this place, and you're not too bad either" in the span of like 2 or 3 scenes!
Yeahhh you do have a point there,, but in a way I kinda feel like that could be justifiable? Like, maybe I'm pulling this out of my ass, but symbiotes can also see the memories their host has had right? So I feel like, if that's the case, then Venom could've had a change of heart because of Eddie's memories and the time that Eddie and Venom spent together. I feel like Venom just kinda started noticing that the world isn't entirely full of bad people, and decided he would help Eddie instead. I think he also figured out that Riot was a dick that needed to be dealt with BEFORE thinking about destroying the Earth himself. I feel like the memory thing would also justify the fact the Venom knew English. I mainly like their relationship though, because of the fact that when they're fused, they kinda become two characters in one. It sort of becomes a multiple personality thing, but at the same time being something different, where the other personality is another actual real living being. I think it could lead to a few entertaining conversations too, considering Venom can also be in Eddie's thoughts. I also just like how their personalities are so different at points,, idk I like weird character dynamics But idk,, that might just be me and my weird fascination with characters that have multiple personalities/are sharing their body with something/someone else.
Smokey McJoint Yeah idk man,, like I said earlier, it's probably just my fascination with characters who have multiple personalities In this case it'd be two beings living in the same body, but that's basically the same thing
The truest sin of this movie, that the writers were too big of cowards to have venom stick his tongue down eddies throat when we found out he was alive after the fire
@13:03 when Eddie and Venom come apart it doesn’t kill him bc Venom decided not to eat Eddie’s organs. But with all of the patients, the Symbiotes are every organ in the body
Agreed, but we had no symbiote on symbiote weaknesses. So we had no known ways of Venom being killed or vice-versa with the leader, other than general weaknesses. Those weren't established. We saw the leader absorb Venom and Eddy and that was surprising to me. I actually agreed with the sin thinking fire or sound would be the key to winning, but couldn't think how a symbiote could win a one on one fight with another. Since they have no vital organs or anything to kill them, how can one best/kill another.
I think the sin is for non comic book fans needing a explanation pre fight. I understand that we get to watch venom kill a bunch of the parasites in the comic but those were also a lot of artificial ones. Carnage hasn’t died yet. Antivenom died but that was a non symbiote kill. So a plan scene would have been lame but it’s a damn if you do damned if you don’t.
He got PG13 decapitated! Remember, this movie was meant to release as an R rated movie, but instead they said "Hey, let's tone it way the fuck down! Maybe we'll be able to include Spidey if we do that"
13:01 Well I'd say it's because Venom didn't eat THAT much of Eddie, while the other symbiotes straight devour the inside of their hosts in under a minute or two. But I could be wrong.
Venom can't shoot webs by default, he took on the spider similarities because he bonded with Spider-Man first. That is also why Venom doesn't have the copied Spider-Man logo.
You joke, but the second post-credits scene in this movie was a teaser for Spider-Verse opening with "Meanwhile, in another spider-verse". They legit tried to make it look like Venom was another Spider-Man.
I don't know if it'd happen because of the hinky way Sony and Disney share Spider-Man characters, but this could occur by introducing the symbiote's camouflage and having Eddie pose as Spider-Man to fight crime
@@devilssondamian Marvel didn't have Sony do anything. Sony rushed Venom as an attempt to launch their own universe of films. They initially attempted to shoehorn it into the MCU and claim they were in the same universe, and Marvel promptly said no.
While watching I recognized it was sort of a bad movie, but I still enjoyed it a lot. It's just pretty generic popcorn-cinema with a neat anti-hero. Wasn't long enough to be boring, had a nice premise and was somewhat interesting. I don't disagree with the sins, but if someone wanted to have a movie night and this movie was one of them, I'd watch it again.
Aww man, I am sad that they skipped over the fact the little girl had a question, and the guy gave a long speech about how you should not silence others, and then he kind of drifts off and the girl does not get to ask her question. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT SHE WAS GOING TO ASK!
Deanthony Curry I’m looking forward to it, but I’d wish they’d get a different villain than Carnage. What’s gonna make the Symbiote vs Symbiote fight different from the ending of the first one?
Deanthony Curry If they fix that 'Cletus'...*thing* they tried to pull, sure, I'll watch it. Hell, I'll watch it anyway, just hoping they don't make him any more stupid/cringey.
It was better than what people thought at first. There where lots of rumors before the movie came out, that Venom was not going to show up to the end of the film
One thing that Jeremy didn't mention was that there was one cliche that this movie surprisingly didn't take to: the asshole new boyfriend cliche. Love Interest-I-already-forgot-her-name's new boyfriend is actually a pretty good guy, helps out his girlfriend's ex-fiance without question just because he saw the guy needed help, and was generally just a decent person, the kind of person she realistically would have fallen for after breaking up with Brock. And the movie didn't break up what was clearly a relationship that was working so it could reward the protagonist with getting his girl back when it was clearly his fault that the relationship fell apart in the first place -- they implied that Brock and Venom are going to make an effort to get her back, but that honestly felt more like a joke than teasing events in the sequel. That being said, this movie was really, horrendously bad, so bad that it somehow circled around to being entertaining again.
I actually felt bad for him by the end, because, as nice as you can be to someone, your gf's ex should not be all the time with her, specially when he's got temper and health issues. And you could say she cheated on him, so...
Not only is the launch pad near a major metropolitan area, it’s on the west coast, which means that either they have to launch it into an inefficient retrograde orbit, or the rocket will move inland and rain flaming debris on potentially inhabited areas if it explodes.
You say that as though the villian is going to give a single flying *skip* about dropping flaming debris on ... sorry, I can't remember, what city was this again?
The scene with him in the tank, was in fact something the actor said he wanted to do. They had been filming and he was like he is playing someone who has something in him that is very very hungry, and my character is having temperature regulation issues I should want to jump in the tank and eat and cool off at the same time.
