Making all those unique sleep animations, but giving us almost no ways to cause sleep is the most Fromsoft thing ever

My condolences to all the animators for their sleepless nights, adding sleep animations for pretty much everything in the game that very few players are ever going to see.

I love the detail of Radahn staggering when he sleeps. He crushes his horse when he falls asleep, and the neigh of Leonard protesting is enough to wake up Radahn.

If I remember correctly Margit is an apparition since Morgot is still in the capital. So Margit being immune to sleep could be because he would be considered a summon.

The fact that the rare Owl has a unique sleep animation and wake up frames is insane.

As someone who hasn't gotten around to Elden Ring yet, I misread the title as "Everything you can sleep in in Elden Ring" and thought that this was going to be a list of every bed you could sleep in in the game.

I think Horah Loux's resistance jumping up so high makes sense. Serosh's role with Godfrey is to combat his lust for battle, so with Serosh dead and gone, Horah's bloodlust skyrockets alongside his resistance to being put to sleep. He's just too battle-ready

Margit has the same "glow yellow and emerge from the ground" animation as a summoned player at the start of his cutscene, it's one of those things that's easy to miss on your first playthrough that is super obvious on your second when you know the twist. I guess he gave up a ring slot for the "look like a host" ring while Godfrey and Loretta are minmaxing tryhards....

I don’t think it’s hard to infer why Hoarah Loux has so much more sleep resistance. Testosterone, adrenaline, and G-Fuel are coursing through the man’s veins.

I'd actually love a 1h video that's just ambient sound/music and clips of different enemies sleeping in their environment

I can appreciate how useful they actually made this effect. Made me create a sleep-based character once and I had a lot of fun with it. I ended up ignoring it in my original playthroughs thinking "it's probably useless because Miyazaki hates fun." I'm so glad I was wrong and he actually is dipping more into making strong status effects and magic.

The Lion Guardian just dropping like a sack of potatoes then immediately getting up is so funny to me. It’s like when you fall asleep at a desk and face plant so hard that the pain wakes you up.

This kinda makes me wish there was an "Age of Dreams" ending, where the Tarnished somehow(perhaps by using the burning of the Erdtree to spread some form of sleeping agent via the falling ash and the updraft created by the massive fire) to plunge the Lands Between into a state of (eternal?) deep, blissful sleep. Probably wouldn't make much sense though, as it wouldnt have much correlation with the Elden Ring itself, like the other endings.

Let us all appreciate Fromsoft for creating all these unique sleeping animations.

Some of the enemies seem to share sleep animations that are only slightly changed to fit their proportions, like the commoner and the putrid corpse. Also the sleeping monstrous bird is really surprisingly cute? I love the way it's mouth opens and closes like it's having little snores.

The fact that Rhykard even has a sleep stagger is crazy to me. Nobody would think to use it when you get the serpent hunter spear, but they said ‘But what if?’

I think it makes sense for Hourah Loux to have so much resistance compared to first phase, since he is basically in total bloodlust mode after the transition to second phase. He was just from a glory Elden Lord who is put to the limit from Serosh to an absolute unit chad of bloodlusted raw power.

It's super surprising that at night all these creatures or at least some don't go to sleep! It would make traveling at night a strategy and make the world seem more real. Honestly seeing all these things sleep gives them that sense of being "real" and more lifelike overall giving this world way more character then it already has!

I’m pretty sure this has already been said, but Margit being sleep-immune while Morgott isn’t makes sense considering Margit is a spirit/shade, meanwhile Morgott is the real deal.

I wonder if the prevalence of sleep animations on just about everything in the game ties into the old Spirit Summoning system. Previously, you'd have to put creatures to sleep, then capture their 'dreams' to make them Spirit Summons. Zullie has a good video about it.

Today I learned that soft fluffy feathers that are used for western styled pillows are called "down", and the animation for sleep status effect being goose down flowing down is very nice.

Margit likey is immun due being a summon. And Hoarah likely because he got rid of the Beast Regent, so he became more angy and wild. basically he got rid of the sleep meds and chose Red Bull

im pretty sure the reason the putrid corpses can sleep but the other skelleys cant is because the putrid corpses aren't living in death, they are probably just being piloted around by some fungus or something, as opposed to being part of godwyn's whole deathroot and skeleton deal

I had no idea sleep was even in this game. It seems really useful for higher NG+ difficulties though. I appreciate that they took the time to consider which NPCs would actually be naturally resistant to falling asleep due to their job/lifestyle.

The non-main boss Mohg and Margits are immune to statuses because they are illusions, one even transforms into a commoner when defeated.
