Here's a long one about to happen: I don't comment often but I watch always. I am a 20 year old college student who is in a weird in-between stage of life and and career and internships and childhood, and when I watch you do Life I feel like I can do Life. When I am homesick and can't talk to a mom or a sister I watch you. When I want to feel inspired or happy or warm I watch you. You affect people with so much light and I am so happy that you exist in the world. I just cried watching this because you have been dealing with more than your fair share, and the fact that I can be a part of what makes you feel better brings me so much joy. Thank you for what you share, thank you so so much. We love you. (Also LUCA BIRTHDAY!)

I agree with Ryan 😊. Your mum spent the last season in a home filled with so much love, she was where she was meant to be. As lovely as her custom home was, she didn't miss out at all. I'm sure she was right where she wanted to be when her time was up. I hope one day you can see it that way too 💖

My daughter is an only child and she looks forward to every single video you post (we sit and watch your videos together) because she feels she can relate to you. When I have a stressful day...watching you and your family is my way of unwinding. I to am very strong in my faith and I admire that about you. Marie, you're quite the inspiration to me. I began watching your videos at age 12 or 13. I'm now 15 and still watch every single new video you put out and watch your periscopes. I want to be a great mother just like you are to your children when it comes time for me to have my own. I want to be a good daughter like you and help my parents out when they are older and get sick. I've been through the same struggles of having a parent sick. When my dad got sick, I watched a lot of your videos. It helped me realize that I wasn't alone. They helped distract me very much and to this day you and your life occupy my mind whenever I watch your videos when crocheting. Also, we share quite a lot of qualities and traits that make me connect to your videos so well. Marie, your my little cup of happiness like how we are for you. I take German and love this song called Lieblingsmensch which means Favorite Person which describes you. Marie, you're one of my favorite people, meine Lieblingsmensch. Thank you for being you Marie. Your mom definitely lived the last months of her life in a great way, around her family. Wir lieben dich Marie! We love you Marie!

You have been through so much, Marie. You're honestly like Superwoman. So many people would feel self pity but you just continue to soldier on and make sure your life is filled with beautiful moments. It's truly inspiring to me - to all of us. My dad died when I was 8 years old and I was devastated. I felt like it was this weird karmic journey for our souls as his dad died when he was 8 years old too. It took me 13 years to overcome it, and now I realise that it happened to teach us about love and loss - the two most important things in the world. Something that comforts me is the thought that we will all meet each other again. This lifetime is a very short space of time in the grand scheme of the universe. You & your mother have an eternity together in the afterlife to look forward to. x

Just had to say. When I was supporting the fundraising comments. I never for one second thought that you weren't grateful for what you have. I wanted to support it because it would be like a thank you gift. You've been such an encouragement. I know money doesn't always solve problems. I learned that loud and clear. Having lost my step dad at the beginning of the year and nearly having lost my mom this summer. But when there is someone I know I can help and who is deserving because of their character. I'm all for it. And today you proved your character is a voice to be reckoned with.

Hi, i watch you every video to keep my spirits up. That's why I need you. My mother have had cancer for 12 years. At the moment she is undergoing a treatment for the 7th time. Cancer spread into her liver. In my country they could not help her any more so she had to leave everything and come for the private treatment in London (where I live). 4 of us live in rented 2 bedroom flat. I love your personality, you are so open and true. It is nice to know that somebody else is going through similar things and to see how they cope with it. You tears help me us much as your positivity. When I watch you I know I am not alone. When I watch you I feel that life is what it is, but we can make it nice. I need your videos! Keep them coming. Does not matter in which order, I watch them all. :)

I have absolutely no design skills, but I'm wishing you all the best from Boston! I want to help your kitchen somehow, so here is my favorite recipe right now, for a spicy cucumber salad. (Spiciness can be adjusted to taste) I am very liberal with how much of each ingredient I add, it really depends on what I have and how I'm feeling. Ingredients (Serves 4) 1 English cucumber (or 2 to 3 kirby cucumbers), washed ¼ cup thinly sliced onion 1 green onion, chopped 2 garlic cloves, minced 2 tablespoons soy sauce 2 teaspoons hot pepper flakes 2 teaspoons sesame oil 2 teaspoons sesame seeds 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)- I recommend this. This is from my favorite Korean food vlogger Maangchi. Also- I really want to see Luca's birthday!

Somehow I find it incredibly reassuring that you're an only child like me. My mum became ill earlier this year; I suddenly found myself in a position of real responsibility for the first time and it was a horribly lonely experience. I really noticed my lack of brothers and sisters and since then I've become quite anxious about it because I know I'll have to deal with that loneliness again at some point. Watching you and your beautiful family reminds me that I'm loved and there is always something wonderful to be found somewhere. I'm so glad I found a youtuber who never fails to put a genuine smile on my face. Thank you xxx

I love your heart filled with Joy and gratitude! You'r an example to me on having faith, perseverance, and gratitude through trials❤️ My mom was a single mom of 5 kids, doing it all from a wheelchair. She was in the hospital more then she was home. When she was home, I'd just sit at the foot of her bed soaking it in. We would literally just talk all day. She passed away when I was 10 years old. I took on the guilt of how I could have made her life better in the last days (not knowing they were her last days) A couple months ago my brother was reading a letter she had written him (she passed away while he was on a two year church mission). In it she told him how much loved me sitting on the foot of her bed, and how much joy that brought her. It wasn't until he read that to me, that I was able to let go of the guilt I've been holding onto. My mom loved me, and appreciated me. I bet if you're mom could've seen what was in store, she wouldn't have changed a thing about her time with you❤️

I lost my mum at 22 when my daughter was 1 year old. I understand that feeling of being jipped so incredibly much. But its as time as gone on i have come to realise how much my daughter saved her for that year. She fought so incredibly hard to make it to her first birthday and that is time i will cherish. We lived together until she was 8 months and then spent everyday together. Also being an only child it is so incredibly hard not to have a sibling to fall to also. Sadly my mum didnt get to meet her second grandbaby in person but i know she has seen her 💗

Well, you got me right in the feels with this one! The phenomenon that is RU-vid is both beautiful and a little terrifying. I don't fully understand how I can feel so close and connected to a family I have never physically met. I haven't been in the "cup of happy" as long as some others, but I feel like I have known y'all my whole life! When you went through everything with your mom, I prayed and wept for you. And it blew my mind. I would chalk it up to new mom hormones, but honestly it was, for me, experiencing the "Church." Actively living life and loving on fellow believers as Christ loves me. I can't tell you how refreshing and beautiful, especially in this world today, it is to see someone in your platform proudly and boldly proclaim Christ. It encourages me. Isn't it amazing how when we are obedient to God how He uses those we ar called to "impact" actually impact us. I have experienced the same thing while on mission in Honduras. Totally mind blowing and earth shattering! ❤️❤️

My great-grandfather just passed away almost 2 years ago, and now his wife(my Granny) has really bad Alzheimer's and it's really putting me and the rest of my family in a bad situation at the moment. I love to come back to my dorm when I'm homesick after a long day of class and just sit and watch your videos. When you cry or get upset, I do too. I can relate to this so much. My mom lives with me and I take care of her. I'm actually sitting in a hospital cafeteria right now watching this video. My mom had surgery the other day and she's in intensive care for the next week. Life never works out the way we plan it to, or want it to- but it's the experiences that we gain along the way that allow us to truly live. While end goals are special (and I am so excited to hopefully see your kitchen completed- whether than be in 2 years or 20 years!)- the way we work towards them shape us all and make us who we are. The experiences you went through moulded you into a person who I am sure made your mother fiercely proud, and will give your children such an amazing role model for the future. Everything you just said about your mother, just reminded me of my mother. I literally wanted to cry. My mother went from beating cancer to it coming back double and stage 4. I just love watching you, because you always have a smile and see things half-full instead of half-empty.

It's 7am in the UK and here I lie, 18 weeks pregnant with my first child, feeling it move for the first time, in a wonderful 3 bedroom home, that we own, surrounded by mums and dads, brother and sisters. I am currently bemoaning the fact that I won't get any maternity pay from my work and now I feel so ashamed and guilty...Marie, you constantly show me (us) such amazing spirit of life, despite many a hardship. The smile is always, always there (even through the tears!) and you constantly teach me and remind me that life IS good. We (the bitsandclips community) are lucky to have you in our lives and I can't even begin to thank you for what you bring to our little world...omg I've written way too much! I totally understand feeling cheated out of time with a loved one. It's hard to deal with. When my granddad died I felt like it was so unfair that I got less time with him than my cousins (since they are much older than my brother and I) but then I thought about all the ways I got more. I only lived a few miles from him and I got to see him more often. I was the only grand baby he saw in the hospital before my grandmother, and I have his eyes. It doesn't negate the fact that I got less time, but it makes me feel a little bit better -even 10 years later. I so sorry you didn't get to experience that new season of life with your mom, but I'm happy that this community is giving you some relief and a cup of happiness :)

I know this video is almost a year old, but I just had to comment. I've just turned 20, and I've been watching since I was 18. I didn't have the happiest childhood and watching you and your family has shown me what it should've been like. How parents and communities should be. As I watch I am torn between wanting to be you and wanting you to be my mum! Your videos make me feel so at home, that even at times like right now when I feel lonely and lost in the world, I watch them and feel better. I hope if I have children, they are as wonderful as yours. If I am even half the mother you are, I'm sure they will be absolute angels. i was talking to a classmate (who has been through tough times as well) how everyone loved him. he said he had made that his decision. he was not going to give anyone a reason to dislike or disrespect him. he has been through enough to be completely angry at the world, but he is one of the happiest most positive people i know. i feel like you are one of these people. and everyone completely responds to it. i'm not really an active member of your community, but i completely understand why people respond so much to you and your family. you don't hide your hardships or imperfections and every little terrible thing that happened you didn't make it a reason for you to be bitter. unlike me for example. i really admire you and people like you, i know i'm on the opposite end of the spectrum personality wise, but i have mad respect and i get genuinely happy when good things happen to you. because you deserve all of them and more.

What baffles me is that you don't think you have an impact on us. You give me so much hope. You have an amazing little family, sure your life isn't perfect but who's is? Just knowing that you are making it through these hardships gives me faith that I can make it through mine. Thank you!

Hey Marie, I find really I relate to you. This week was a tough week for me too. It was my birthday during the week. The first one since my Dad's passing and I normally see myself as pretty tough about these things... not this week. But thats okay. It's good to get it out and have a big cry. My mum and I renovated our house too, after Dad left. He left my Mum a list, haha. It was: Get the floor boards you always wanted, fix the gutters, pay off the mortgage and invest what is left. We did a few other things too and gave the house a fresh lick of paint. I always wonder if he'd like it now. I can imagine him popping his head into my room and making a passing comment on his way down the hallway. Your Mum would have loved her home and yours, because she loved you and your eclectic style. Just like my Dad would like mine but then say "it's still too girly" as he toddled off to the bathroom. I know it's not the same as having them here. But hey, it's the best we can do. Marie, I'm not sure I have ever commented on a RU-vid video before, but I've watched almost ever one of your videos since almost the very beginning. Thank you. Thank you for in the midst of a dark, hard season, being laughter and joy, and the comfort; you gave to so many. The past few years have intense for me personally, but watching you, your family, your faith, and your joy that is from God, has grown my faith. Your corner of happy, has been a place I found peace. Thank you.

Luca's Birthday! Here's a little happy moment from my week. I visited my sister and nieces the other day and the one and a half year old yelled "Ashee!" and ran to me. She gave me a hug and said "I uv you". It was the first time she said it without me saying it first! I know how special those moments are because I get to see or know when they happen to you through your videos. It's been said before but you also get back what you give and you give a lot. You're just so humble and sweet and loving and all these great adjectives because simply - the reason you're on youtube is not simply "us-for-you" - it's you for us... you're sharing your wonderful personality and family and warmth and kindness and urrgghhh... *sobs. I can't even remember how I found your channel a few years ago, but I'm so glad that I did. No one else keeps it as honest and real as you do, Marie, and that is so important. Not because we want to know your business, but because you are helping people who might be dealing with similar issues to know that they aren't alone and that they can do it. And you can too! I find it so strange to hear you talk about worrying about what people will think about your house or your floor or whatever, because I have never ever seen any of that when watching your video. All I have ever seen is a gorgeous, strong, amazing family full of love and with such a wonderful outlook on life. You're one of the strongest people I know (and I do feel like I know you even though you're just this woman on the internet on the other side of the planet) and I admire you so much. So don't stress about your house! Concentrate on the wonderful environment full of love that you've created not just for your family, but for your audience here on RU-vid as well!

I am always most excited for your videos, Marie, because I know I will always feel so much better after watching than I did before. I just spent almost 12 hours straight working on homework (elementary education major homework at that), and I am so drained and exhausted and ready for bed. But after watching you, I feel so blessed to have such a genuinely sweet person tell me how much I mean to them, that I feel like I could go for 12 more hours! Hello Marie, I never really comment on videos as I never know the words to say! Completely opposite to me in real life! But this video made me need to say thank you for your openness and your humble heart. You have the most lovely family and watching your videos really feels like having a phone call with a friend, your videos are authentic and I think that's so important today in a society full of pretenders. Your fans will always be with you as they love you for who you are (family included!). You know what, Marie? It's videos like this that remind me exactly why I've remained subscribed to you. Your weekly bits warm my heart, they really are adorable. And it's nice to have the entertainment of these flash youtubers all over the shop with their merch and their brands and their tags and games. But you're so real, and I have so much respect for that. You keep my feet on the ground. I'm from a working class area in the UK. I go to university - I'm even currently studying abroad for a year in New Mexico. I have so many opportunities to grasp and I have high hopes and aspirations. But there's still a strong chance that I'm going to end up back in my working class town with an okay job, a couple of kids and a hard working husband. It's a probable path for me. I'm likely to struggle to get a new kitchen or to fix my bathroom up just as my parents did as I grew up. But if I can achieve with my life even a fraction of the unconditional and, honestly, beautiful family dynamic you have, I'll be more than happy no matter what happens. You've seen so much pain and yet you're so filled with love, with optimism and drive to keep your family a happy one. Nobody gives a crap about your floorboards because we're not here to see them - we're here to see you, and to share that spark of light that shines so brightly in each of your videos, no matter what's going on in the rest of the world. I'm not sure what I set out to achieve with this, it's just a few things I wanted to say. Thank you for being open, honest and realistic. It's appreciated. It's the kind of grounded influence a twenty-nothing year old with no clue how her life is going to pan out needs.

On RU-vid I'm mostly a lurker not a commenter, but each video I see of yours leaves me all warm and squishy, especially this one. No matter what you're going through or remembering, you always have a little happy dancing candle of goodness behind your eyes that just can't be put out: it's inspiring and infectious. I truly wish only the most happy and scrumptious things in life for you and your family. I just wanted you to know that all of the loving and supportive comments from people here on your videos? well there are thousands more floating unsaid in the minds of people like me who usually stay silent :)

I find it amazing that you struggled with the idea that your mum had to spend her last season 'in this' - as you put it. Your husband is right, she got to spend it surrounded by her loved ones and that's all that matters. Try not to torture yourself with what might have been, and focus on what actually was and is.
