Lived in Sarnia in my teens . Always had plenty to do. Swimming, boating, bowling, movies I r skating.etc. Used to go to Port Huron for 10 pin bowling as Sarnia only had 5 pin bowling. Love to go home to visit,, still have family in Sarnia.
Phil Esposito played for Sarnia bees. Sarnia sting are junior A. James Doohan from Sarnia. A lady I'm sorry forgot her name was a Hollywood starlet in 1930's also attended Scits same as James Doohan
James Doohan visited the Sarnia area and was in Port Huron having a mini Star Trek convention with him as guest speaker in the fall of 1977. He talked about a possible Star Trek movie since Star Wars was huge. He was funny and charming. He even played a Star Trek blooper reel. Something I'll always remember.

Interestingly , I have also lived in many Ontario towns and cities as well as recently 14 years in Augusta Ga. I also have friends in the USA that react... Narnia?.But there is only one Sarnia on the planet. I would be interested to know where the name came from.

Sarnia is a pretty amazing place, considering how relatively small and tucked away it is. Maybe there will be a Sarnia category on Jeopardy some day - now you can win the grand prize!
People are concern about getting cancer because of the petro-chemical plant. I tell you guys, I worked in a hospital in Jubail, Saudi Arabia & the city has one of the largest petrochemical plants in the world, but people are healthy. It's very rare to encounter cancer pateints.
Stay upwind of the facilities and don't put gas in your car, then. You're getting a dose of benzene (a designated substance, known to potentially cause leukemia), every time you fill your car, if you smell gas vapours. 🤦🏼♂️
I'm not afraid to ask about Sarina's thriving arts community and pro golfer. I'm afraid to ask if I'm going to get cancer if I move to Sarnia. If it smells bad. If the chemicals will hurt my family. Thanks anyway 👀
My father has lived there for the majority of his life and is a very healthy man. You also can’t smell anything unless you buy a house right in the middle of Chemical Valley. It’s a beautiful place to live!
