Yes, I remember this event and the events in Gdansk. I support and hope for the Communist regimes. Unfortunately, you are misinterpreting what has happened in Canada. This was not a peaceful protest that was broken up by a regime that you fought in 1989. It was a protest infringing on the rights of other Canadians who believed that the best way is to follow the guidelines and mandates set for health agencies to stop this pandemic. These people did not care for the noise or safety hazards that they caused to the citizens of Ottawa. After a 4 week occupation, they said enough was enough and started to critize the city, the provincial, and federal governments for their inaction. When the Emergency Act was invoked. The first thing that was done was to warn the protesters at least a few days before actions were taken. When the Ukraine was invaded thousands of protesters showed in Toronto but the did not block any road ways only one lane of traffic because of the overflow and the police made sure in a peaceful manner that none of protesters were hurt. You fought for what was right and risked your lives. The "Freedom Convoy" protested for selfish reasons and most of transport drivers were vaccinated and tried to distance themselves from the protesters. God Bless You for what you did in 1989.

As for fossil fuels, Trump had the U. S. off dependent on foreign oil. The first time in many years. Cheap power ( relatively) at least no problems with all that came with dependent on middle east oil. First thing Biden did was end it. I want to disagree badly, but I can’t. Here in the UK our energy bills are going up by £100 on average, (around $75-$125) and this is going to wreak havoc on the poorest families, who barely have that to begin with.

@@PKTraceur The sad thing about that is that if Canada developed the oil sands and built pipe lines to the east coast, Canada could supply Europe with natural gas and oil and very well replace Russia as a energy provider.

It's short term vs long term good. If we destroy our planet it's not better. Changing our energy source is difficult for the current population, but it will be 1000x worse in the future if we don't. We gotta think about our children and the future generations.

This is WHY I am against the thrusting of the fantasy of green energy upon us and the world. Poor countries need cheap energy to fire up their industry. They Do not need pompous moralizing to fuel that.
