Truly understanding anxiety and panic disorders I believe is the most important thing to even get your recovery process started. Knowing how and why your body reacts the way it does makes the whole process of accepting anxiety for what it is even possible.
Most people who now have an anxiety disorder, especially health anxiety probably heard of the term fight or flight and knew roughly what it is when they had their first panic attack. But the emphasis lies on roughly… Many of us were never thought in school how the body will react to different stressors the exact same way. How the body and mind can feel completely burnt out and overwhelmed without us noticing it until it is too late. That’s exactly what happened to us during our very first panic attack. Stress has accumulated and broken a certain threshold which eventually lead to our fist panic attack. This attack probably was completely unexpected and together with the lack of knowledge many of us believed to have an heart attack, stroke, cancers, embolisms and so on. Eventually every panic attack subsides but what we are left with is the worry about what just happened to us and this worry we carry around us 24/7. As worries are nothing else but stress they alone will trigger further anxiety attacks which further confirm our initital worry of a terminal illness and round and round the cycle goes…

Your videos are awesome and are helping people like me understand what is going on internally. I am still experiencing many symptoms, but they seem to be shifting. Hopefully that means I’m on the road to recovery. Numbness, tingling, shakes and twitching, ear fullness, blurry vision, muscle weakness, and now IBS. Slowly getting better, but has and continues to be one hell of a fight.

Great video. I have struggled for almost 4 years with anxiety and panic disorder. It all started with vertigo which caused me to have a panic attack. I really thought I was dying and rushed to the ER. I then became so afraid of having another one that I brought it on. It is a struggle that no one can understand unless they have had it. Thank you.

Thanks🙏🙌! I agree unless you are going through or have been through the same you will never understand. Its been hard to find so many people absolutely clueless and not understanding of my situation during the years. Thanks again for your kind words and if you have any questions, need advice or tips just get back to me. I am here to help 🙏🙌

@Mavericknmaddie

@@yosefsbehat3013 I think it started at all. I rushed to the ER thinking I was having a stroke or dying. They prescribed 60mg prednisone once daily and wow that really did cause me to freak out. 3 days later my heart was beating out of my chest and I was having panic attacks over and over all day long. It took 4 years to get better. I went to the ER 10 times that first year. I wouldn’t wish anxiety on anyone. It is hell on earth. But if I can recover anyone can!

@ImprovementPath
@ImprovementPath 5 лет назад
Oh yes thats something i hated as well. I always had this numb feeling in my fingers and when it wasnt there i of course was super psyched. BUT i would constantly check back in again and concentrate even harder on the fingers and then tada i had the numbness again. The worst... For me i believe that for one to truly recover you have to lose the fear of the sensation. Not caring if it is there or not is the state you need to achieve. Once fear is lost that inner tension about the synptom will disappear and so will the symptom itself! Stay strong 🙏💪

Good morning Mr. Improvement Path, Funny enough, I've also started my anxiety journey in Hong Kong. Blue line MTR, density population in Causeway and Mong Kok. It all started about 6 years ago. Panic attacks with clostrophobia, agoraphobia, you know the drill. Then I moved back to Switzerland, I was tackling ways to overcome anxious situations / panic attacks, but never tried to restructure my mind to fully recover. 3 months ago, I had a major setback. After accomplishing an exchange semester in Shanghai, I've had a pretty bad acupuncture experience. Different senstations than usual, different symptoms, very strong and irrational thoughts. That is when I started having health anxiety. I will not go into too much details as they are not that important. I really wanted to take the time to thank you. These videos are unexplainably the best cure for people who are suffering from anxiety. Doctors give us relief, our entourage are there to support us, but people who have gone through the same thing are on a whole other lever. Hearing your stories, your path, your recovery, everything make senses now. Even though I've been feeling better, encountered some step back, I know that I still have a long way to go. My muscle tension is horrible (every tense part of my shoulders all the way up to my neck crack one by one), all my articulations are very sour, and I still feel some symptoms day in and day out. However, the approach I have is completely different now. It is not about crawling into a ball and think I have cancer, tumors, depression, craziness, dissociation, and the list goes on. It is about knowing exactly how my mind functions, knowing it is normal for it to react this way, and slowly challenge myself in certain uncomfortable areas to restructure my way of seeing things. Anxiety has cost me a lot, from time, to energy, to failing university classes, ending relationships. However, the knowledge that I am gaining from this experience is irreplaceable. If every externalities from this experience have led me to where I am n ow, I'm going to take it and continue pursuing my goals: Be more aware of the beauty of life, don't be the same person as before, be a better and more accomplished version of myself. Take care my friend, Alec KZ

Hi. Does muscle tension cause the dizziness/lightheaded/off balance feelings? I've been feeling this for the last 6-7 weeks, some days better than others and other days constant. Its very nerve wrecking and can cause me to be more anxious and start thinking i have a brain tumor/brain cancer or neurological disorder like MS (health anxiety). How do you get over that feeling and try to move past it for recovery? Did you have to take anxiety medication during your recovery? My doctor prescribed me Lexapro but I'm resistant to taking it due to fear of side effects (again a lot of health anxiety behind it). What are your thoughts?
