For the curious George one, monkeys in real life do have tails. Apes do not. Curious George is very small, so there are three possibilities. One, he is a baby chimp/orangutan. Two, he is a Pygmy Chimpanzee, which is my best bet. And three, he is a species of gibbon, though I do not know which gibbon George is. There aren’t many gibbons with his fur color or skin color. A Pygmy Chimp is the best bet because some people draw chimps with dark brown fur. Pygmy chimps are smaller, cuter chimpanzees.
