The American BDU was a modification of the American Jungle fatigues. The shirt pockets were slanted at first, but later made straight. This was true on both the green version and the later ERDL camo uniform.

Sure it was, but the general pockets cut was completely refactored. More or less only m81 pants are direct copy of TCU pants. On this channel I also have a video about the history of Tropical Combat Uniforms and the evolution of the BDU ( Grenada kit video). Hope You will enjoy it.

10:41 4 cell Mag pouch is used to cover the AK, there is a special slot for shovel.

Hey Ivan. Do you know anything about avtor named brand? It makes gorkas with removable warmers and jaegel named gorka, wich looks like gorka 1 but i think gorka 1 was made by ana. Polish company frontowiec claims avtor makes mainly stuff for rosguard.

Do you know if the okzk (ones used around Chernobyl) uniforms were ever used in Afghanistan? If the cold war went hot, would these have been used in the Europe? Found it strange they seemed to have a uniform just for chemical clean up etc. Thanks.

Привет, Иван! I just got my hands on a M88 uniform and I'm going to reenact a сержант section leader. I know there are red bands sown on the shoulder boards, but is there a manual on how they're placed? Some pictures have the three bands centered on the shoulder board, while some pictures have them placed low or high on the shoulder boards. Which is correct? Thanks in advance!

@@cruzpershing8424I’ve noticed soviet gear is one of those ones which barely shows up in army surplus stores outside of Europe. It’s pretty easy to find East German and Czech uniforms in my experience though, Czech M85 is very similar to Afghanka but usually cheaper and it’s green instead of brown.

Hello! I found winter “afghanka” jacket without upper torso and arms pockets. This one have also a “belt” on back like in military winter coats. I heard about civilian jacket production mede of original material… but im not sure its orginal.

Too expensive and complicated. But in Ideal world I would love to have a Soviet Naval Infantry and US paratroopers sets.

Well, I have an Afghan Panama hat and just buy the materials that the Soviet union used to make their uniforms was a better durable quality than your jungle fatigues or BDU uniforms of the United States that being said, I understand that they were tropical fabric, which had to be light, but in Vietnam, they had a lot of blowouts whether it been the crotch area in the knees were the major weak spots of the Vietnam fatigue as far as the BU uniform. I think they could’ve used just a slight thicker material where in Afghanistan the materials that were used in the Soviet union in my opinion were better durable quality, just by judging the Panama comparing the hat the Panama is built like a Russian tank, where the hat wouldn’t even last a year of every day usage but I like the designers better in the US than the Soviet union because of the appearance other than that they’re awesome uniforms
