I've been waiting for someone to make this type of video. It's always nice to have someone prove minor differences in things that most players will never bother testing. WAIT I need to say something confrontational!!!
Something I noticed that wasnt mentioned here: Armor protects you from ants. He still makes a sound and "scrapes" them off his arms, but there is never any hives, rashes, or damage from them. I have only tried this, by accident, with stick armor. It may work against bees as well but I also dont know for sure. I find this to be an easier solution than using a torch when wanting to walk through the deep and not run right into a mound before you realize it.
I think I remember still getting a rash - you have to click hide armor to see it .. nvm you are correct - I just tested it and armor saved my arms from getting lit up by bees. I was using bone armor.
Thank you for the effort to put together these guides, they are very well made!! I have one objection though on your conclusion. Yes, the metal armor is the best as far as stats are concered, but I don't really thing the crazy amount of effort it takes to create one is "well worth" it, as you said. I play the game on max difficulty and I have full metal armor on my survival game, but it's just because I'm at the "endgame" and there is not much left to do for me, so I went for the metal armor, but if I'm griding through the story or during the first few weeks of survival, I think the armadillo armor is by far the best, just because it's so easy/cheap to make.
I played the whole story mode through and never once made armor. I started a “tourist” game just to figure out how to craft the things I didn’t know how to make. I couldn’t figure out how to put the armor on 🤣 now it’s like duh! Thanks
Not going to lie, pretty entertaining watching you just repeatedly walk into the snakes and spiders. Hahaha Side note, have you thought about doing a video testing out despawning times and what items stay? I know that would be extremely labor intensive, but just an idea, I know the community has many questions about it. Keep up the quality work, I appreciate how much time goes into each one.
That’s the exact reason why. The game wants you to think how things can be put together to make something better. Like it would be in a real survival situation. It wants you to experiment.
all of your vids are very useful. There are lots of things I didn't know even after playing for quite a while. I want to ask you to make a guide to survive a long hiking without camping please? That should be very useful. Thank you.
Just bought this, been playing for 15 hours, always keep a fire running just for the ash to make ash bandage for those damn jaguar lacerations; should have checked your vids I'd have found out I can wear armor, and that I can harvest all that charcoal I have laying around into ash and saved me a lot of time... earned a sub , cheers!
Wait what I haven’t heard of ash bandages yet I’ve been using burnt Goliath spiders for deep laceration bandages!!! Thank you lol. Although I have been playing for less than a week. But I just started my second round hahahah. I’m a binger…… Ha I forgot that you could find dead leaves on trees. I was running around looking for a damn bird nest instead of waiting for leaves to dry out 😒 I forgot like the first thing I learned in the game lmfaooooo
Wouldve been awesome if they had bone masks in this game I prefer bone armor just cuz of my indigenous nature an missing the middle of nowhere my home island
Armor can't block from snakes.. then what is the point of it ? I can one shot everything with a spear .. no wonder i got still poisoned .. yeah im dropping the armor . Thanks yeah just picked up this game and im already bored with it.
Thanx for all the testing!!! Bet that was tedious lol. But if armor doesn’t take up backpack weight when you are wearing it, then what’s the point of weighing the armor lol? Does it cost more stamina just wearing it if it’s heavier? Like real life lol? Idk just thinking out loud.
Why? That armor won't be as strong because Armadillos are harder to find and get than bones and leaves. Crating bone armor MANY times will be a better armor than Dillo armor, that you only craft every so often.
Greetings, on crafted armor parts, if you place them back onto the crafting stone.... you seem to be able to craft something else, but i have yet to figure out what. Does anyone have an answer for this?
so, messing around and trying everything i could think of..... 1 crafted stick or bamboo armor + 1 Melted Iron ore + 1 Empty Mold = Armor Mold. I didnt have Iron or Bone armors to try this with. Banana leaf and armadillo armors do not craft into this. And i have yet to bake the Armor mold's to see if they do anything different than the Stick + iron Armor molds. I am guessing these armor molds will act the same as the normal ones. If i find a different result i will follow up.
Edit: You should definitely add voice over to your videos. I’ve heard you speaking in videos and it’s excellent delivery and adds so much more to your content. Even if it’s only a few sentences to add more personality to your videos. It doesn’t mean you need to speak for the entire video or get rid of the text but do both. So basically if it’s equipped it’s weightless?? That’s good news if it is and is excellent. I’m having trouble with carry weight (probably because my ocd always makes me have maximum sticks and fibre at all times).
is it just me, or is batch crafting a specitic item, raise the quality of THAT item, but only to a lesser degree all other items? I was passing time for other things, so I crafted like 20 stone knives, soon I had quality 90 stone kinves, but everything else was barely raised at all.... so there's two different skills, the specific item, and "Crafting in general"?
I've had something similar happen but I've also seen videos that show an axe crafted with 100 in crafting to only have 71% durability when I can get 95% stone blades with 31 in crafting; maybe the tier of the item and/or durability of its ingredients also effects the end result.
Yes. I just posted about this. You're better off to just stick with crafting/using the SAME armor/weapon all game, because it will be stronger than something that you just started crafting. Like bone armor for a few months...then when you're able to craft metal...it won't be as good as the bone.
One for each limb. They last quite a long time if you’re good at avoiding conflict and/or are good at avoiding hits when in conflict. Edit: You don’t even need the same armour for each limb. You can mix and match depending on what resources are available to you.
What I've noticed...if you've been crafting and using stick armor for a long time...then are able to make metal, it will be weaker than the stick armor. Just stick with one type and craft/wear that the whole time. I suggest bone, because it's strong and bones are everywhere. Same goes for weapons. If you've been using and crafting a bow all game...and then decide to make a blowgun...it will do very little damage. It's like starting over.
I just finished this game after playing for over a month. I had no fucking clue I could even make armor until I looked at the trophies. I hated this game, imho ofcourse
