I am 56 years old and things were starting to creak and make noise but because I've been paying more attention...i just feel better. Yes the first 3 or 4 trips to the grocery store took me over a hour...but you find your regulars. Thank you Professor Bobbie...because of you I feel great...and I believe because of you...we are seeing more choice in the grocery store because when we are fully informed we can vote with our dollar. I agree with you on the points made throughout this video, however, I feel going more in-depth about why herbicide-resistant plants like Monsanto patented corn/soybean/ etc. are bad would be more educational than using the blanket statement that, well if they kill insects how can it be good for us. Poison is a question of perspectives, for example, we can drink coffee and eat chocolate while at the same time it's poisonous for other organisms. Altogether a very informative video, I think it's just this one point that can be misleading, and would love to see it talked about in further detail.
Hello Bobby I love your videos but I have to correct you on the Hummus in Lebanon and the Middle East we make it with chickpeas Tahini lemon juice garlic and salt never with oil. Extra virgin olive oil is only drizzled on the finished product.

If you read any academic peer reviewed paper on GMOs including studies that are several years long (longer than the unverified independent studies), there are no negative health effects in any way. I would be careful spreading information that has been categorically reported false by the science community. GMOs science is as tested as climate science. We have over 20 years of strong data that would disagree with you. I am a big advocate of a healthy diet and love your videos but be careful when you separate from solid science.
I'm almost positive by "study from Europe that grows huge tumors" he is referencing the retracted Seralini et al. Since he doesn't actually cite his sources you can never know for sure just how wrong he is.

One of the things I like a lot in your videos is how thorough you are in explaining what's good and what's not good. I think you do a stellar job bringing this information to the public. I also think you should have your own TV show. Yes, you're that good. Genetically modified organism. They change the genetic makeup of an organism usually to increase the nutritional value of the food. It protects the crops from developing & spreading diseases and also some prevent bugs from eating them, therefore they don’t need to use pesticides. There is not harm in eating gmo foods he is mainly talking about highly processed ingredients and obviously that is very very bad for you but it has 0 to do with gmos. Consumer confidence in the safety of food supplies in Europe has decreased significantly as a result of a number of food scares that took place in the second half of the 1990s that are unrelated to GM foods. He is very misleading and doesn’t know what he is talking about. At this time there is no evidence that GMO’s are harmful in anyway to humans.
DASHA COHAN oh yes, I am currently studying genetics 🧬 He promised us in the first 30 seconds of this video he would tell us what they are. I want to know what he thinks they are. One major problem with free speech online (which I think should be allowed) is that you get a lot of uneducated, at least on scientific topics, reading very little information about what they talk about. I highly doubt he has a PhD, MS, or BS degree in Chemistry, biochemistry, biology, genetics, medicine, or anything else that would actually give him authority to give this kind of advice. BUT I could be wrong, that’s why I want to know his education. Derick Fox He never cites his sources, and when people in the comments ask him for them he always says to just Google it. In my eyes that shows he is being a bit misleading, and at worst completely dishonest. So, dont expect him to ever back up his claims.
Everything you need to know about GMO: There is nothing wrong with GMO, they are perfectly safe for human consumption and should be actually preferred over non-GMO variants, which has often more toxins of many kinds (did you know Europe had to actually increase the limits of toxins in corn, because it wasn't possible to get below the limits with the non-GMO variant, and the seed producers don't let us have the much preferable GMO here?). Also, 1. the roundup is a herbicide, roundup doesn't kill bugs. The only animals it is actually harmful to are water animals, and we do not usually protect crops against water animals. 2. the roundup is quickly degraded, so it doesn't stay in the plant for long. 3. roundup can be used for desiccation, but only (obviously) in crops that are not glyphosate-resistant. Desiccation is the thing you do shortly before harvest, so there is actually a higher chance to get glyphosate in your food if it is not genetically modified for herbicide resistance. I have an important question about pesticides in produce. According to the EWG, berries are insanely high in pesticides. What’s on thoughts on that, and would you buy organic berries V.S. non-organic berries?
Yes. Non GMO produce is almost ALWAYS sprayed with harmful pesticides that cause minor damage to people and major damage to the environment while GMOs give produce a defense it grows itself that causes a allergic reaction that only effects certain species. The guy in the video is a complete sham profiting off the anti GMO hype. He gave no actual evidence against GMOs and said he simply doesn't believe them...

Something to think about with beef. Cold weather beef has to eat grains in the winter. They don't have the availability of grass (per a farmer that raises grass fed cattle and it makes sense). So maybe in this case, organic would be best. I wonder if there is s way to figure out where the beef is coming from.

People that grass feed will always label it as such as they can get more money. So Id safely assume all other meat is grain fed. Unless talking to someone local but you'd know the season.

Bobby here in south africa we dont even have a choice.we have a stoor woolworths,they have cage free meats and eggs..thats it.there is NO SHOP that sells grassfed or pasture raised.maize is our staple in s.a(corn) and both that and soy is like 98% gmo...our cancer and diabetic rates here is terrible.thanx for the great videos people like you are helping people like us to make better choices in life.because of this channel ive actually learned and now after some searching learned we actualy have local farms selling grassfed and pasture raised foods online privately.shot brah

Round up is a herbicide and round up ready corn is only herbicide resistant lol. What you want to say is Bt corn, which is only toxic for a few types of specific bug that is troublesome for corn growth, most other bugs can feed on those Bt corn still.

You are right, breeding and hybrids are not the same. We've been doing breeding with plants and animals for centuries. GMO is a 20th century advancement, if you can call it that. We even GMO'd mosquitoes in S. America. We are so dumb and wreckless.

Bobby, please clarify what you mean about being safe to take anything in produce section, I understand the corn and soy crops being bad ( also I think sugar beets are also on the Monsanto list of seeds) But I have read that there is a list of fruit and vegetables that people are supposed to avoid unless they are organic because of the sprayed pesticides that can penetrate the thinner skin ones, such as strawberries, apples, peppers, grapes, etc. the thicker-skinned ones such as melons, avocados, oranges, eggplant, etc. are protected. I would not touch an apple that is not organic just for the fact that 45 different pesticides have been detected in the crops. Every year there is a dirty dozen list of produce that warns people of what to avoid and what is okay I don't mind the hybrids what I am worried about is the extremely heavy use of pesticides that can soak into what we eat it does not wash off it is inside the produce we consume.
Because many consumers do not know what is GMO or nonGMO, some companies save time by putting it on the label. But as someone mentioned, it can be confusing seeing a "nonGMO" sticker on the package or label.

Sooooo... like the term “natural flavors,” isn’t “grass fed” also unregulated? Meaning the cow could have been fed grass for a portion of its life, but was switched to grain (corn and/or soy AND potentially GMO at that) for the remainder of its life. Seems like if that’s the case, organic grass-fed would be important. I read that Whole Foods now has 100% grass fed beef a.k.a. “grass finished,” but not everyone has access to a Whole Foods. Thought?

Excellent video, great information! It may be paranoid of me, but given how big agra clearly cares more about profits than peoples' health I buy organic veg whenever possible. Plus, I think it's seriously troubling that a great deal of animal feed is now GMO. It's just terrible what's happening to our food... and in America we should have the safest and healthiest food.

Absolutely food should be safe everywhere in the world, but in a first-world wealthy country like America we should be making certain that laws and regulation protect us rather than being undermined by profiteers, lobbyists and corporate interests.
Actually it can be called organic, if the farmer doesn't know there is an issue. You won't get it from the water used to water the plants/soil. But cross pollination from GMO plants, with what is believed to be nonGMO or Organic farms, can occur. 100 acres of nonGMO corn could contain parts of the field that received "drift" pollination from GMO corn fields that are miles away. It is not a simple test and you cannot test 100% of all that is grown.
I have lived my entire life eating organic and using organic products for my hair and skin, and other household products. Thank GOD for my parents and my grandparents who cooked and made other products from scratch. As a college and graduate student, I studied genetically engineered organisms (GEO), genetically modified organisms (GMO), who Monsanto was, and its new surreptitious abbreviations since First Lady Michelle Obama started her organic health food program and educating the public. Later, President Obama signed into law a Bill mandating all entities label their products. This law was supposed to protect consumers from Monsanto products made with GMO ingredients and produce grown from GEO/GMO seeds, which by the way was sold to the Bayer company. President and First Lady Obama said consumers have the right to know what's in the food and other products, and they have the right to choose not to buy them if they don't want them. Not only do they have to worry about Monsanto, but they need to know the plethora of companies that supported Monsanto including companies that used its Roundup. I thank GOD I was raised eating organic foods due to my parents and grandparents' gardens and their friends who owned their own farms. Not to mention, when I was a kid, there was no such thing as GEOs and GMOs. However, that does not change the fact that when we go out to eat at restaurants, we have no clue what we are eating unless the restaurant advertises that its food is made with nonGMO products and seeds or that it grows its own food. Therefore, when eating out, one must pray before every meal and try to detox after eating out. Nevertheless, after all of First Lady Michelle and President Barack Obama's endeavors, Trump came in and reversed the Obama's Bill and his supporters began scrubbing the internet of the Obama's health and organic accomplishments by replacing articles with lies. The internet is now full of biased inaccuracies and fallacies regarding the Obamas' Bill saying they protected Monsanto and allowed Monsanto to write its own Bill, which was not the Obamas. The FDA allowed Monsanto to put its poison on the market decades before the Obamas were in the White House. Now, Trump has allowed Monsanto and its supporting companies to dominate the market again and this time they have changed the name because First Lady Michelle has educated consumers on GEOs and GMOs.
You clearly did not study GMOs in college, or you would call him out on his misinformation. Roundup ready crops will not kill bugs, period. Roundup ready means it wont die when Glyphosate is applied to the crop. Glyphosate , aka Roundup, kills weeds Roundup Ready crops are designed not to die when Roundup is sprayed on them Neither roundup, nor Roundup Ready crops, do anything about bugs.
Bobby - roundup ready crops do not kill insects. It is a herbicide which kills weeds which do not have the the gene. Also Monsanto was acquired by another company.
Correction Bobby, Wheat has the highest levels of Glyphosate because most regions desiccated their wheat with Roundup a couple days before harvest to brown it.

I’ve found really good deals at Target on their organic chicken, they usually will mark them down some when they are close to expiring and you can always freeze them! I know what you mean though, I live alone and typically make meals for 1 🙃
