Oh man thank you! I just recently got into the series with super Metroid after dread was announced. I have been recently binging Metroid stuff. Thank you!
This is really well done! As someone who has been playing these games for almost two decades now, this is an excellent recap of the story! Hopefully it's a big help to people trying to get into the series!
Such a great series. Id highly recommend Samus Returns if you have a 3DS. If you have nintendo switch online, you have access to many snes games, one of them being Super Metroid.
@@danasgamereviews3854 I can agree but I try to treat same as return as a different game name though it just doesn't reconnect good up to the point with the Metroid Fusion as we saw a cutscene when Samus was own sr388 besides that was is actually extremely really good I highly recommend it
@@danasgamereviews3854 oh and also you can you can get the screw attack without this gravity suit now you need to sequence break to order to do it but it's so easyto sequence break that I did it on my first try. sequence break is just to get an item early or break through a prologue before the prologue supposed to be there that sequence break I was able to get the screw attack early on my first try that's how easy it is .I'll give you the link to the video
I 100% agree with you Actually was stated by Sakamoto that the Prime series are not canon he stated not just that they were Side Stories but their alternative to his 2D Metroid games also said that the reason why he gave retro studio so much freedom because he wanted to keep distant and separate from his 2D Metroid Trilogy and all that just means is that the Prime Trilogy will have its own story and its own ending there's a a lot of people think that non-canon is it bad thing but it actually can be a good thing it will leave more room for the Prime Trilogy to grow its own story and have its own ending
I see what you’re saying about “canon” not necessarily being good or bad but… He actually never said it wasn’t canon. That is a big misconception. What he did say about Prime was that he didn’t consider the games heavily enough while writing Other M, which just means there was some oversights in his writing. Here’s a great article on the matter: gamestoday.info/gamingnews/yoshio-sakamoto-never-said-the-metroid-prime-series-was-not-canon/
In a nutshell...Metroid is the misunderstood jelly fish and Samus is the warrior primcess/daughter of the previous mentioned Metroid. Drawing many parallels to the Zelda series hence why many theorize the 2 are the same just metroid in distant future with zelda= samus and metroid being Link obviously
Poor Samus! She's been through so much...and the poor little baby brain :( I really had no clue how much story was involved with these games, so thank you for enlightening us, Capt! :D
She has definitely had a rough go of it. You know, you really form a bond with that little baby jelly squish. I'm glad you found it enlightening! I adore Metroid's approach to story, and how the consequences of each game spill into the next. It's not something you often see in Nintendo's larger franchises.
I like how Metroid Dread is the final Metroid game but no the final game with Samus After Dread all the story with metroids will end Maybe now the Corrupt Federation and the X will be the next Enemy.
Well, the final Metroid game as far as we know at this time. They could still come out with sequels, prequels, inbetween-quels, etc. But I'm glad we get a resolution to this story arc after so many years. Count me excited.
@@CaptBurgerson I dunno, at this point, it feels more like a movie-style, cinematic retelling of Fusion than a stand-alone story. Or maybe more like... Ocarina of Time's plot but for Metroid? It's basically a mash-up of a bunch of different Metroid plots told in a totally different (and almost inarguably much worse) way than normal, and while it supposedly has a cannonical, post-Super Metroid place in the timeline, it feels like you could insert it anywhere pre-Fusion and it would still make sense. Well, as much sense as Other M CAN make given the mediocre writing, awful voice directing for Samus, and iffy localization treatment it got.
The apparent article with sakamoto saying ther were not canon was mistranslated so don’t believe it, it went from Japanese to Spanish to English. He meant that other m didn’t reference or talk about them with its story
