I’m 54 and diagnosed a year ago with early onset dementia. I have had bipolar 1 majority of my life. I will be trying this starting tomorrow. At this point I’m really praying for as few side effects as possible. I’ve been having such a hard time with this. Thank you for the video!
Re:comment: 👆Oh my dear! I’m so so sorry for your awful situation with such a rough/hard situation or experience that’s on your plate rt now. I don’t know you, but after reading your words my heart breaks/hurts for you. 🙏Please Jesus Christ watch over your daughter. You know precisely what & why she’s going through this horrible situation. Would you please surround her with a strength that she’s unaware of in order to deal with this awful circumstance that she’s having to endure with now. Please in whichever way you see possible for her to comprehend that she’ll get your attention that she’ll reconsider taking this particular kind of drug. It’s really between you Almighty God, Jesus Christ & Holy Spirit as to what you do & if she responds correctly. BLESSINGS to YOU!
Your videos are great but the little sound effects drive me absolutely mad. The snapping of fingers, clicking and popping sounds are extremely irritating. Perhaps this might be part of MY mental issues. 🤷♂️
Rexulti was beyond psychotic, after a half hour of taking it I would have flashes of orange and yellow and my eyesight, after a couple months of use it gave me the feeling of cancer in my bones sluggish to walk.
Ironic that it did that since it’s an antipsychotic medication used for schizophrenia but I guess it induced almost immediate visual hallucinations for you , and within a half hour as well after starting it which I guess means you have one of the most rare genetic profiles in terms of how you metabolize medications because it takes at least a week generally for it or any antipsychotic to have actual psychopharmacological action in the brain.
After trying almost all atypical antipsychogic including low dose clozapine without success or very low results or sometimes worse outcome than the original state, I started 2mg Rexulti 18days ago. So far it works better than previous ones but I don't know if the dosage is ok. I liked Abilify but it stopped working and side effects was horrible. I hope Rexulti will work for my disorganised shizophrenia with therapy resistant negative symtomps. I already feel something positive.
Re:comment: 👆Just be very careful with anything you take into your beautiful body. A long time ago I was on Abilify & my mood was definitely much better than ever but I wasn’t hypomanic just enjoyed being alive. Felt like a happier human being. But unfortunately & unexpectedly I found I was gaining weight & started looking heavy! I had gained 20 Ibs of water! I really had to get off Abilify quickly. With Rexulti I’ve heard enough about the horrific side effects that I personally wouldn’t want it around me 1 bit! May Jesus Christ & The Holy Spirit surround you personally with His Divine power & intervene where you need it. 🙏Blessings being sent to you!
I'm taking this for treatment resistant depression and ptsd. I have a higher risk for side effects like sedation and twitching so I'm on 0.25 mg to start. I'm on testosterone as well so I already have a lot of concerns for cholesterol and things. Not many doctors have experience working with trans people so I'm worried that I might be at risk for some of these metabolic issues.
I had the same with Effexor!! Id also be interested to know. I hope it doesnt becus im being put on this for panic/anxiety on top of an antidepressant. What i read online was that if it does just contact your doctor right away.
I started Abilify and the noise in my head (racing thoughts & negative thoughts) completely silenced. But I stayed constipated 5 days, heart burn stuffy nose and weight gain maybe due to being constipated also my tongue felt like I was having to talk funny like it felt thick . Now I am on Rexalti I am scared bc I am border line diabetic high cholesterol and taken HTN meds. Giving it a chance. Nose still stuffy.
I hope you have better luck with Rexulti. Make sure to monitor your labs every 3 months if your concerned about the metabolic syndrome. It doesn't happen to everyone, but beign that you are diabetic you are a higher risk for it.
I tried ability and it worked for my mood and sleep but caused me intense akathesia ( restlessness). Now I’m trying Rexulti, hoping it works but we’ll see
Can you please do a video on the preferred anti-depressants & anti-anxiety meds for people with pre-existing bruxism? Is Wellbutrin + buspirone a good combo?
It does work. It's more of a mood booster. I hate to say but I used to snort them to get a sort of amphetamine high. I was not using it right but it definitely worked for that. In short it did lift my mood
I take wellbutrin and buspar. I think they work well together. If I don’t take wellbutrin I cry easy. If I don’t take buspar every day several times a day I end up with having lot of anxiety. I’m looking for a good anti depressant right now. Which brought me to this.
It is approved for monotherapy use for those with Alzheimer's dementia and agitation. It is also used off label as monotherapy for agitation in other populations.
I’m bipolar 1 and SSRIs send me to the moon. Before it was clear that I was BP1 I was treated for major depressive, and after reporting aggression on SSRIs, I was given Effexor and Lamictal. I felt less depressed for a while and there was no aggression, but the depression came back. After failing a trial with Vraylar I was given Rexulti and the depression morphed into severe anhedonia. Against the advice of my nurse practitioner I’ve started titrating off of the Effexor because even though it’s an SNRI, I wonder if it’s giving me a purely negative effect as an SSRI would but I can’t see it because of the Lamictal. Question: should I still see the anti depression benefit of Rexulti without an SSRI/SNRI? I feel like my mood is lifting and a straight jacket is being removed as I reduce the Effexor. Is this a case of… even if this is counterintuitive, if it works it’s the right thing to do?
This anhedonia may be caused by the type of the antidepressive you're taking, it may be too serotoninergic for you (this happened to me when I was taking fluvoxamine - I felt like a robot). Then my doctor changed it to one that goes for that dopamine and norepinephrine area, bupoprione. Besides lamotrigine may not be enough for treating bipolar disorder, but it depends on your organism. I'm bipolar type 2, and started with lithium, lamotrigine and bup. My aunt only took lamotrigine, but it took her 6 months to get better. Psychiatrist disorders are not easy to find the medicine that fits very well dor each paciente. But keep trying, it's worth it. Ps; if you take lithium, don't forget to dose it's blood level because there is a range that is therapeutic, otherwise it may be toxic.
Taking it as an add-on to anti depression med. Got started at .25mg every other day. After 3 weeks of that, was moved to .25mg every day. After just over a week of the every day, I noticed I had gained about 7 -8lbs. Was first given Abilify which hit me with terrible side-effects almost right away. I haven't noticed any change what so ever being on this stuff and certainly don't see anything positive that would counteract the negative self-image I have with the continuing weight gain.
That is unfortunate! I hope you are working with a provider who can help you get to the root cause of your depression so you can get off these medications and feel good again!
I'm on day 21 of 1 mg rexulti and 5 mg prozac for depression. No results yet. which is disappointing since it is so easy to use. It gives me absolutely zero side effects.
I made a mistake. I was on 10mg Prozac (not 5) but I think Prozac is my problem. I don't think it works anymore. Will be looking at new SSRIs to pair with Abilify or Rexulti. @coreyboren3476 @@coreyboren3476
Re:comment: 👆Please think 2x or more before taking this drug! You’d better pray 🙏 before taking this drug into your body. There are many good reason to reconsider it! There’s really too many seriously bad/horrible side effects that could trigger inside your body anytime. I cringe thinking about how all these poisonous chemicals/drugs can affect your body from head to toe. Re: your head that involves your brain 🧠! It’s called: Head quarters! It’s a quarter of your body. But that’s where your personal computer is located! The wrong drug can easily cause havoc on/in it. Guess you’re gonna do what you’re gonna do.
