Nah... the game is mid, but it's pretty much exactly what they showed. Those 90% are just what you wrongly expected the game to be

90% you DO know that the original black flag "spin off" was a 5v5 PvP boat combat shooter... Right? Like.. that was it.. R6 Siege with boats... Then it was a narrative game which they culled back because it was too single player focused for a multiplayer game.

Y'know what's wild though? Literally ALL of the Ubisoft studios over the entire globe has worked on this game. Yet this is their worst open-world game they have released, regardless of all their other titles being similar to one another up to the point you can tell it's a Ubisoft game, cause it's all similar, bland, repetitive and boring. This one, has the least detail compared to any of those other titles. There's no story, no real world building, no landmarks, no points of interests. There's nothing that catches your eye in the distance.

A pirate game by Rockstar Games has the potential to be something great. Seeing what they did with the western genre in the Red Dead Redemption duology.

AAA companies like ubisoft don't care about user experience bro. They care about draining as much money from you and me as humanly possible while doing as little as possible. Just like any other megacorporation like Monsanto, Bayer, hostess, their main objective is to maximize profit margins while minimizing doing anything that the community actually cares about because that's not their priority.
