Great video, as always. Just received your book last Thursday. I have been making sushi at home for many years, yet I'm still amazed at how many tips and tricks I've already learned from reading it. I absolutely love your teaching style and content. Please keep it coming.
Can you believe that I started eating sushi at age of 32 😅 and I’m so in love with it now. I really appreciate this informative video. Thank you so much! You got a new follower ❤❤❤❤
I think I got it from a local Asian market but you can find very similar ones on Amazon. I go into it in more detail in my essential tools for sushi video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FTGpSSvBuQY.html).
Not necessarily, it's not traditional but many chefs/restaurants use meat in sushi, especially wagyu beef. I've also made rolls with teriyaki chicken or Spam and they're really good! Perfect for little kids. If you want to be really traditional then stick to seafood but I say add whatever you want in there and get creative!
Really glad I came across your channel. Your videos are concise but still thorough and informative. I tried making a few rolls and sushi last night with your guidance. Turned out great! Would you be able to make a video on how to prepare raw fish ? I tried curing salmon with salt vinegar and freezing but wasn’t too happy with the taste. Is this process necessary when using any type of fish?
Thanks and glad you're enjoying my channel! Curing salmon is typical but not necessarily for all other fish, there's some we cure and some that we just leave as is. I do a simple 25 minute salt cure for salmon. You can use vinegar as well but it obviously will change the flavor and also the coloring, but I know many chefs that prefer it that way. It really comes down to preference.
