Great video as usual Dan and team, I would love to see a video around "picking the right sled for your riding style". While we all love the crazy shit you do in the back country I think there are a ton of people who will only ever do some of that and knowing what sled is really going to perform for the various needs we all have from an expert like you would be really kick ass!

Get a Matryx Switchback Assault 146. They can come with a 1.352 Cobra, ICE Storm 1.50, Cobra 1.6 or 2.0 Crossover track, anything with a 1.50 up track will perform pretty good offtrail, especially with some better Crossover skis, like Polaris Grippers or SLP Mohawks.

@@kadecooper246 Yeah, and with arctic cat having the self adjusting clutch on all of their models this year I’m a little bit surprised that Polaris has only done it on the turbo model. All the other mountain sleds and all the trail sleds all have the same clutch that needs belt deflection adjustments often. However, the fact that Polaris came out with a new clutch this year and only put it on the turbo models says two things. It says that the turbo is so powerful it needs to always have perfect belt deflection so you’re not ruining your belt but it also says that this clutch must be pretty good if they’re testing it out first on the sled with the most horsepower that is going to put it under the most torture and abuse.

Can’t get a boost anymore. However I currently own a summit x turbo and absolutely hate it. The power and throttle response is amazing! However the feel and handling of the sled IMO is horrible. It’s very heavy feeling, the front end is so loose and feel you have zero control or pressure. I am comparing this to my 2021 alpha. Both self are 165 track lengths. Handle down the alpha is much better sled and feeling IMO. I have not ridden on a newer Polaris but I am told they feel a lot like the cats do. So IMO hands down the Polaris or cat are the way to go. @@davidrowley8251 You know what I’ve never thought about when buying a mountain sled? Gee this really needs a thermostatically controlled hand warmer, led taillights/headlights, a touchscreen gps unit and my goodness is this recoil nice. You sound like a Polaris salesman lol, I could care less about all that stuff as long as it rides well and does what I want why would I care about gadgets.

@@CalgaryDynastar nice! People think you actually look at the gauge in the mountains. I only check my rpms to make sure clutch is running right and how much gas I have. The rest is useless since you can’t even see it 95% of the time

@@shanemayers777 for sure, as long as she is revving within max range that’s all you need to know. The rest is trivial, that’s why I will never own a mod sled, seen too many times when buddies I ride with are staring at their gauges cause something is fucked. Stock sleds more than enough to take 90 percent of riders where they need to be.

20 grand is just too much for a sled

I spent 14K on the the 2019 850 and then added a 6K turbo plus some other goodies. The 2022 outperforms it in every way. 20K isn’t too much IMO.

@@skibumm47 What you spent is irrelevant.. our opinions on value are not concerned with what you spent... but with what else that money could buy. We're happy you're satisfied with your snowmobile, but most people don't have 20 grand to drop on a toy.

Snow checked one last March and now they tell me I might get it sometime in March of 22. What crock! Brag brag about their machine and can't deliver it.
