With its price…. Definitely reserved for the most discerning squared g-shock collectors. Still hesitant due to the price but it’s definitely a worthy “trophy” to keep to admire at haha
Great video! I just picked this up yesterday and am totally in love with the Watch. I love how you can see the amazing quality in a watch that from far away looks like a regular G shock. I’ve had many Swiss watches including Pateks,APs, etc and even Grand Seiko and you can see the high quality in the titanium finish and overall Watch.. I know it’s not unique to this Watch, but I noticed you didn’t mention the Safire crystal. It is very nice!
When I saw the price of the previous Titanium versions I thought it was too much money for a G Shock because I didn't like the designs or the colors, it didn't make sense to me. When this version came out I didn't hesitate for a second to get it and now that I have it I understand everything. It is a spectacular watch that weighs nothing and the details are superb. I am very happy with it.
I’m glad I finally bought the TVA - it’s my favorite watch of any brand that I’ve ever worn. I like my other Titanium Screwback squares but this one is my favorite. They should have given the MR-G square the same mostly matte finish treatment this one received. They should release a TVC and give it a similar color palette that the TVB has, albeit solid bezel/band rather than the blocks/diagonals of color. A raw/silver titanium version would also be awesome.
I love the design aesthetic and execution on this. It feels like a... a G-Shock concentrate. Like they took the design to the next stage of the natural evolution.
Great video, but sadly totally mislabeled. Having a 8-1/4 inch wrist, I only wanted to know if the bracelet is large enough for my wrist, but sadly, that's the one question you did not answer.
This video was a treat for my eyes. Absolutely excellent! I wish I could afford this watch, I would choose this over other similarly priced luxury watches any day!
I made sure I subbed a long time ago, I don't want Casio to stop making watches, We definitely don't want that. 🙋♂ Hola Amigo, Just came by to show some Love. Hope all is well.
Great video, I love my TVA. Awesome watch, as soon as I saw it advertised I ordered it straight away without hesitation, heart over head? maybe, but I love it maybe more than my MR-G!!
Thanks for your comprehensive and insightful review. Titanium is a great choice as it aligns best with lightness and ease of wear of the resin/plastic models (comfort) while enhancing the durability of the piece. Having experience a MT G B1000 I found the extra bulk of steel less comfortable, so it's really not in the rotation as a result.
I’ve worn it all weekend. My son hit it with his own citizen just now. No scratches so far from what I could see. If you can get 2 for retail, stash one in a safe and wear the other with no issue.
"... and, it better transform into a robot while it's at it ..." 🤣 Great review. Love this G-Shock, sad that, at that price, there are soooo many other watches to consider before this one. But, if you're a true fan (like Jayson seems to be), it's a no-brainer. Thanks for sharing Mr. De Castro!
Wow what a video pal! This has got to be the Best of the Best out there and I think I've seen them all now especially when your seriously thinking of pulling the trigger and getting one? My only concern is the size of the actual watch as I used to have the sponsored variant and it was just too big for my wrists! I was hoping this one being in all black etc it would make it look smaller in appearance but the over hanging on your wrist just put me off slightly. However everything else just oozes class, style and a top notch futuristic design all in one package. Keep up the Great work!!
Greetings from Norway. Great video - such a cool watch, might have to add it to my constantly growing collection 👍 Dig the knife as well, could I ask which knife it is?
That cracked table is really just a sheet of backdrop you can by on amazon for 20 bucks. There’s 6 different backdrops in all. As for the watch it’s a Bolido X Calc Chronometer. They’re a sponsor to the channel. shop.bolido.rocks/?f=Designatelier
Great job 👏.. I own the very 1st titanium square camo they made .. what an amazing watch.. does everything for you! On days where I don’t feel like setting an automatic.. I’ll just rock one of my squares.. the titanium one is definitely my favorite even over my Tron because of the weight
The GMW-B5000TFC was very limited and is nearly impossible to find now. It goes for way over its original price. It's also not titanium. Not sure why it's suggested as an alternative.
I'm a bit concerned, apparently there is a copy-cat band and bezel kit you can get from Ali-Express for certain or various other lower level squares to make it look like one of these. ...Which means a person could pay the premium price thinking they were getting one of these, but just a cheap copy or fake.
Don’t be concerned. It’s been a thing for years. It doesn’t make the originals any less valuable nor special. It’s easy enough to spot a fake too. People just need to do their research before buying and buy only at trusted dealers.
Conventional push pins. It has a metal sleeve in the middle. So when removing these pins, make sure you don’t lose those small metal sleeves. It’s an extra precaution that casio does for these bracelets to ensure they stay in place. Because of the holes on the links, they had to use push pins which are smaller and fits right over the drilled holes of the links.
@@DesignAtelier Thanks for the update. It’s a shame it doesn’t use the spring bars. This means a trip to the jewellers to adjust the bracelet. Was tempted by the watch despite the price. The bracelet links kill it for me though.
Love the video. I am currently waiting on mine shipping from Japan. For the white square you showed, may I ask where did you buy from and what is the name of that strap ? Love how those strap pieces looked on that white one ...
That DW-5600 is an on going G-Shock project. You can see the early videos of the channel. I'm going to revisit this soon. If you have any comments, im open to them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dfLnx5gtmCw.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RCMV2YfPRRo.html
The only thing I need to know is I don't want it nor need it. It is no better than the version made of plastic and it is unnecessarily expensive for no advantage over the plastic version.
Thank you for the amazing video and production quality. Do you think the price on this will drop over time? I notice other 'limited edition' titanium squares like the B5000TCF-2 are now available at a significant discount.
I think these will keep their prices a little bit more than usual. It’s a little bit more desirable and unique in construction. But I have been wrong before.
@@DesignAtelier I would bet on your prediction as well! The watch is a keeper, but at this price range it would just be a little painful to pay full retail today, and see it at 20 - 30% off a few months from now.
That is a unique and cool titanium bracelet. Hey Jason since you're a Mobile Suit Gundam fan, did you have a chance to add a Seiko Gundam 40th limited edition to your collection? The prices of those pieces have now gone thru the roof!
@@DesignAtelier for some reason the regular led doesn't do it for me. And for this price and the upcoming origin pieces, it would be nice to see an upgrade on the lcd also, to make it more distinctive
How much nicer would this have been if it had the display with the black background. I just rewatched this video and on that tablet you had in the beginning around 02:45, the watch’s monochromatic display was inverted. Is that an option? I’m not the biggest g-shock enthusiast, so I really have no idea…
@@DesignAtelier oh cool 😄 that’s too bad though… that it’s not offered with the inverted display. The aesthetic of that mostly black display on this exceptionally finished all black watch would have been perfect 👌 This is my first time coming across this channel and you seem quite well versed in the world of G-SHOCKs. So let me ask you this, even though it would be a shame to change anything about a 2000$ digital watch, but would it be possible to do a, hopefully seamless, swap of that internal module for one that has the negative display? Perhaps from another GMW B5000?
Yes you can replace the module with a negative display. However there are some things to keep in mind. First, the cheapest model with a negative display is the GMW-B5000-1 (metal bezel with resin bands) retailing at 400$. Second, the module will swap easily but you will need to remove the face plate too. this is a little bit trickier to do but not too dangerous if you have modded a casio before. you can find only tutorials how to safely do this. And finally, there is no shame in modding a 2000$ watch. Once you bought the watch, it's yours and you can do whatever you want with it. If you intend to sell it off in the future, I wouldn't even touch that caseback at all. I for one, wanted to dismantle my TVA but I don't have a good enough pair of screw drivers for that task. so you know already this one is a keeper for me.
@@DesignAtelier thanks for the info! I have been looking into it and what most people seem to agree on is going for a metal square with a screw-down case-back for a hopefully easy module swap. And you’re right, the cheapest one would be around 400$ with a resin strap. I love the TVA case & bracelet. But I feel the negative display would make it perfect. If I was ever to buy the TVA, I’ll look for a seller that has it and a GMW with negative display and buy them both. Maybe I can get a deal to ease the blow to my wallet 😜
Awesome video! One question. Is the bezel also DLC coated or is it IP coated? Because the official European Casio site only mentions DLC coating while the official Asian Casio site mentions IP coating for the bezel.
@@DesignAtelier Do you think that that will be a problem? It's a less abrasion resistant coating if I'm not mistaken and it's applied to the potentially most exposed surface of the watch. Also, I'm really new to the square G-Shock scene, but when you say that for the price of the TVA you would like to see a better module, which module would that be? I mean what is missing from this module?
@@konap7 if you’re worried of abrasion for your G-Shock, this model might not be for you. Ironic it might be, the price of this model out weighs the durability and sensibleness of purchasing one. The DLC will scratch in time. You need to develop a mentality of ignoring scratches first before diving into an overpriced gshock. I’m coming from a mechanical watch collecting background so I’m used to scratching my pieces enough not to even worry about it. As for the module, if they are going to charge over a grand for a watch with the same module that I can get for a 3rd of that price, I’m wishing for more than just cosmetic changes. I wanted extra functions to warrant that extra charge. I guess they are adding that much because of the material and limited run of the piece. That’s another thing I would not recommend to anyone beginning it the Gshock scene.
@@DesignAtelier Fair enough. I have other watches that are made of metal. The thing with an all black model is that a scratch is not only a scratch but also shows the metal underneath. And having the bezel being more sensitive than the rest of the watch is just a bad design choice if true. This particular model just spoke to my heart like you said in your video. There are other square G-Shocks that I like but I don't like them enough to consider buying them. But this one is just special somehow... 😅
@@konap7 like with most things in life, if like it enough, you make sacrifices. I learned to move my left arm inward my body whenever approaching door posts, lined my desk with rubber and even walk with my wife on her left side so my watches stay safe! I’m sure if you bought one of these, you’ll likely take good care of it. Just be reasonable and not lose sleep over a scratch or two. These are meant to be worn and would still be very durable compared to other watches.
its my own mod. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WfcBGhXNfiQ.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dfLnx5gtmCw.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RCMV2YfPRRo.html
It looks almost too pretty to wear. Almost. For those who think it's over-priced, it's limited, so, must pay for its own production costs. That's a milled titanium clasp and the polishing is obviously by hand. It has luxury watch features that actually make its price reasonable.
The TVA is a beautiful watch. Great video, awesome production quality! Why do you think the clasp body isn't titanium? I'm fairly certain it is on other models. The steel spring bars for sure mark on it like it's titanium and it isn't cold like SS. It's on of my (very reserved) concerns about my 5000TB, is that over the years the micro-adjust and deployment spring bars will slowly drill through the clasp body.
@@DesignAtelier I own the original titanium B5000 square and I'm pretty certain the clasp is titanium. Easiest way to tell is to gauge how the clasp reacts to heat and cold... I've never noticed that it reacts any differently than the rest of the watch.
@@DesignAtelier Ohh ok, I'm Sorry I usually don't read through all the comments. I was just shocked and confused, that is why I asked. Thanks for clearing it up :o)
There’s nothing wrong to beat it as you wear it. It’s just perception we all need to get pass through. We all want it to be in Prestine condition. But in reality, the moment you drop the money to buy it, it’s already a 1700$ loss to your equity. So why by bothered in beating up an item that already lost value?
