@TheTechne Bro I tried these all day yesterday testing them for various games and music and I’m disappointed It sounds amazing, that detailed planar magnetic sound is really amazing However, I don’t know if I’ve got a faulty one, but out of the box sound every time there’s strong bass I got that distorting crackling and even in COD MW3 every time I was shooting at an enemy and that strong sound you get when you kill an enemy it done the same thing. Even when reducing the bass it done the same thing and when you reduce bass even more it makes the sound rubbish anyway Is that what you got when listening to something with strong bass???

Bought them today. thanks for the eq presets, gonna check em out on some helldiver's. Im definitely a bass guy but I've been enjoying the clarity but looking to even out the bass it distorts a lot during the initial dive intro music for on helldiver's but hoping your eqs help. Thanks again videos are great and I'm really liking these headsets I think Sony is embracing a nice mix of trying to change the game while delivering solid products.

Great review, I just ordered these just for the simple fact you can listen to RU-vid and a game at the same time I thought that was pretty cool. I’ll be doing a review of these with a few other headphones I have at home and I’ll give the original Sony pulse I had for the PlayStation five away to one of my subscribers after the review. watching all of these great reviews gives me ideas on how to put together a better review myself.

I hope you don’t plan on connecting them with an IPhone bro I got mine yesterday and sadly they didn’t connect with my 13 Pro nor can you adjust chat/game Volume balance like you could with the pulse 3d but you can connect the new ear buds with an iPhone… go figure with that 🤦🏼‍♂️

That mic was so much better than i expected it to be. I pre ordered one today. Are you able to monitor your voice in the headset while speaking, like you can with the normal pulse headset? Are there side tone settings?

Yep, with the release of these and the Pulse earbuds, Sony put out a firmware update for the PS5 that adds the equalizer and sidetone settings.

The movement of the ear pieces is normal and by design so they adjust to whatever head shape you might have. Some padding might have been nice, and as you recall they did ship with removable pads there. But I'm not sure with normal use it will be much of an issue. The note about the design being an issue if you're leaning back is a great observation that I didn't see mentioned in other reviews. I do lay on my pillow with my headset sometimes.

Hey Techne, love your videos, I recently saw your mw3 audio settings and I just picked up a pair of Razer Kaira pros for the Xbox Series X. the kairas are a bit more treble focused than the Blacksharks. so on the kairas just add a touch of bass.

You did a great job but was really hoping you’d key in on the difference between the PS4 Gold, the Pulse 3D, and these to get a better sense. The PS4 Gold headset has a better fit at least for my head and ears. Also feel like the pulse 3D has a tighter fit too!!

I've had the Audeze Mobius since their release (held together by tape these days), and I was hoping to pick up the Maxwell, but at $150, these are a fantastic value! I love Audeze Planar Magnetic!!

Go for the Audeze Maxwell you won't be dissaponted. Pulse Elite lacks a lot of bass. It could sound as clear as it wants but if the bass isn't there you won't be immersed if FPS or fast pace action is your cup of tea. Maxwell have amazing bass. I play call of duty exclusively and have yet to touch a single setting from when I pulled it out of the box. The signature sound is incredible. Footstep precision, perfect bass, and an inane amount of detail to ambient sounds

These don't have noise cancellation. Noise cancellation is what you hear/don't hear through the headphones. Noise rejection is what OTHERS hear through the mic. That is what was in the video and seemed absolutely mental how good it was.

Hello, Good video, One question, Before I used the pulse 3d and I played a lot of warzone, For me the pulse 3d were already perfect, I heard the steps super clear and the direction where everything was coming from was super better, With these I feel that the sound in Yes it is good but in those aspects such as hearing footsteps or the direction of noise I feel worse than the previous ones. If you have any special configuration I would greatly appreciate it? It is important to mention that I have the warzon configured well, thank you

I had pulsese 3d and got these Elites few months back. I have only 2 issues and can you confirm this is somewhat normal? 1)I can hear my heartbeat and "blood flow". The seal is really good. maybe too food? 2)The sound distorts bass when I listen music at max volume from dongle on pc. I have to go 2 clicks below max to not hear any crackle. Overall I love the sound. It is SO CRISP and detailed and just high fidelity. Do I want maxwell lol

I just got a pair of Virtuoso XT's to replace my old wired HS70s on PC, but now I'm looking at these to replace my old PS Platinums I've been using on ps5. Got the Virtuosos on sale for about 30 more than what these cost at full price so I pulled the trigger on them but I have been curious about Audeze and planar magnetic drivers in general. I could just as easily move my dongle to the PS5 when I'm not at my PC or even 3.5mm the XTs to my controller but after seeing that noise cancellation demo, I think the omni directional mic these have would pick up a lot more random noise through playstation than the new Pulses would.

I like the integrated features that work with the PS5. Can mute the microphone with the mute button on the controller instead of havong to use the one on the headset itself. Just simple quality of life features that i appreciate.

One thing im really trying to find out is if the Dongle, when used on PC, provides two outputs. (Game vs Chat) So that I can adjust volume of game/media without affecting communications volume. Deal breaker without.

I have a question. I bought the Pulse elite and wanted to use for PC and PS5. If i purchase extra dongle is there an app that i choose to show which console i want sound to come from or i have to leave one dongle unplugged until i am ready to use that console? Just got these for use on PC, not sure if its a limitation on PC or what but it doesn't allow you to set the quality to anything higher than 16bit/48000(DVD Quality). I thought that since they use link, lossless connection, that they would be capable of doing a higher quality of audio. Not sure if its the same on PS5 but my one is in for repairs so i can't test that out yet.

Hello, I have a question. How do I disconnect Bluetooth via the headset when I normally use Dual Link? I only want to disconnect the Bluetooth connection with my phone and only use the headset for my PS5, but not disable Bluetooth on my phone. So actually only on the headset. Can you help me with this? I have tried everything.

I connected mine to a DAC and they sound so much better than the Bluetooth. Planar magnetic deserves a good DAC to get the best sound quality

My pair have bad distortion, flat EQ but as soon as I up the volume the sound falls apart. I own a pair of the classic Penrose and never experienced any distortion on those and they got very loud with good bass and clarity.

I bought those and just returned them. My frieds sais the mic was amazing, literally like a podcast, sound wise they sounded a bit low and not to much volume nor base but it was okey. thing i disliked was that the headphones do such a good job at cancelling noise from outside that I could hear my own voice inside of me which was super distracting and annoying for me. I think they were okey, but maybe too expensive. Also, as they are not first party not having the easy access to prioritise audio on PS, lack of feedback when you mute your mic and etc i decided to return them

I just bought them and about to swap them for these ones or the corsairs ones. the bloatware is horrible and sound is kinda funny. when mic is being used u get a buzz sound and when not in use you still get white noise which is not nice!
